Since the game is not Pvp I can't see why anyone would care. People boost Pvp games on Xbox for the achievements all the time and get reset. But like I said, it's coop, and has a random unlock system that takes unreasonable time to get what you want. People shouldn't have to spend 10 days just to get a Sniper they want to level 10 by a random unlock, where every single other item they get is worthless garbage to them.

The focus shouldn't be on getting the gun you want, but enjoying the coop. And for this reason I have no problem with people using the glitch, as they can focus on just that.

you legit have to have friends or people willing to work with you to do it. Some people don't feel like dealing with biowares crappy lottery system so. Never ending arguement.

Ehh.  It's pretty cut and dry for me.  A little bit of cheating is still cheating.

If the intended outcome of 30 minutes on gold is 75k credits and someone discovers how to exploit bugs in such a way that they instead make 300k credits in 30 minutes, then that's cheating -- even if it's just at the very end and just a simple little thing they do.

Now, if BW comes out and says, "No, we designed that loophole for some clever player to figure out. You did it!  Bravo," then that's all well and good and I need to get me into some of those matches.

This
entire issue, to me, is like rolling the ball along the ground in
cricket. Bad sportsmanship? Absolutely. Ruins an aspect of the game for
other people? Sure. Against the 'rules'? No, not really. A manipulation
of what's allowed for gain. Until Bioware put their foot down and fix
this so people can't do it (like what the Cricketing Board did with
rolling of the ball), people will do it.

Total bull****, I agree
with you, but until Bioware does something about it you're getting your
underpants in a knot for nothing.

EDIT: For those of you not familiar with bowling underarm in cricket, here is the analogy I used.

Interesting analogy.  In the cricket example, there were no explicit rules against rolling the ball because nobody expected a player to be so unsporting.  That's very similar to how a loophole can pop up in programming.  It just doesn't occur to the programmer that a player might do X, Y and Z, which breaks the sequence of events he programmed.

Also in the cricket analogy, the activity was stopped by the implementation of a rule.  I assume the rule came with a penalty.  BioWare has also done similar with these bannings.  I do wish they would come out and directly say, "Don't do that, it's bad!"  But even though they haven't, banning people who've exploited this credit glitch is a pretty strong indication of what they want their rules to be.

You're right about it being pointless to rant about.

it's a three day ban though which people don't mind :P

Oh boy this is rich.

So the mods simply do not care about this exploit going on.

Heck we even get people arranging cheating sessions with each other on this very thread.

Maybe I shouldn't have defended Bioware so much these few days.

Even if you have online feedback off, there are two things you have to understand:

1) You characters, equipment, and credits are stored on the EA server. They don't need your permission to see their data on their servers.

2) Despite matches being hosted by players you still need to be connected the EA servers because that's where all your character information is stored.

So when you turn off online feedback, you stop telling them what class you're using, what weapon, how many rockets you use, which enemy, what map, total time, etc. However it's impossible for you to hide the fact that you just played a match and how much you earned, because the server has to know in order to properly update your experience and credits.

All they need to do is have the server automatically flag anyone who earns more than 75k credits per match (max Gold reward), and if that person gets flagged repeatedly, they can be banned automatically.

I earned 78k once so i hope to god they don't follow your advice.

I got into a game last night and was invited to a party , they told me they were doing the credit glitch , i had no idea what it was or how to do it and i didn't want to know so i promptly left party / game , why bother glitching ? , if you unlock everything then you just end up getting bored , part of the fun of the random unlocks is the uncertainty of what you'll get. I just game for fun.

Bulls**t. It's not a bug or 'glitch'. You still playing with friends. The fact that you trying to survive against overwhelming forces doesn't mean that you cheat or found 'bug'. This game was designed in such way. If you can pull that off on different map that's ok. I don't see any way that banning will be implemented.

The actual policy for EA and origin was changed recently, and it's not just a 3 day ban from playing, it's a ban from multiplayer: http://www.escapistm...-Banned-Players

Wow, you are a moron if you think turning Feedback off hide you from using this glitch.

Do people honestly think their credits are on their xbox? NO! It is uploaded to THEIR server so they can make sure nothing happens to your stuff. So yeah....

All  feedback does is send information on player loadouts, where players died, what map they are playing, etc etc etc. it look something like this.

steampowered.com/status/ep2/death_maps/ep2_outland_03_deaths.jpg

This is a photo of Half-Life 2's Feedback system. Showing where players died with heat indication.
A more developed system they have shows weapon used, what enemy killed them, health and armor before death, amount of ammo left, and so much more.

Also here posted this in other topic.

Well, Bioware has already shown they do not know how to fix such small and simple problem.
Like when they shut off the Commendation pack system because of an exploit where someone would get more than one..... All they had to do was check who opened more than two packs over their entire game play experience and ban or reset them, which if anyone is wondering FEEDBACK OFF DOES NOT HIDE THIS OR CREDITS! Your N7 Level, weapons, and characters are all saved on THEIR SYSTEM so cheating/glitching will ALWAYS show up on their side.....As for the credit glitch ALL they had to do was going into the run time of the game and force the autosave for the wave to start after any single player load into the game. The autosave is the feature that kicks in on each wave incase of host leaving.

This fix is a simple change of the number. If it is larger than that simple fix all they have to do is come up with a little system to push the autosave system entirely back. That is about AT MAX a day of coding. Hell a temporary fix would have to been to disable the 'host leaving restarting wave' feature until this was fixed. Yeah it would have sucked and people would have trolled a bit but it would have solved this problem.

If ANYONE gets banned or reset for this I am sure you are going to see a lot of angry people who will refuse to play the game anymore. On top of everything Bioware is in such a huge public relations **** storm over the ending, the shop system, and the DLC having LOCKED CONTENT!!!!! upon release. Yes, it was free so why does this pose a problem? People spent real money to get the new stuff without realizing it was still locked. I didn't but Christ that isn't something you can just ignore.
