Suck it
(I'm joking, sort of. I mean I did save Kaiden. But you can maybe still be good at videogames and save Ashley...we all have temporary lapses in judgement)

No, I didn't backtrack on her when they suddenly, drastically, and inexplicably changed her look. But, provided the Extended Cut gives me a reason to ever play the series again, I WILL backtrack on her now that I've played ME3 and discovered that her personality has actually worsened and her character development is nearly non-existent. I saved her because she had more to do and to live for in her life than Kaiden did, but her poorly developed character and unremarkable actions have wasted that sacrifice. So from now on, it'll be Kaiden. Even if he's just as empty a character as Ashley, at least HE'S likable.

The problem with Kaiden in ME3 is that you miss a TON of dialogue.
Because it's linked inadvertently to your relationship with Ashley.

Even though I never once allowed for Ashley to get off of Virmire on all of my saves, I was rather shocked to see her look in ME3. She completely lost the gung-ho soldier look, which I thought only good thing about her, and now looks like she is ready to go out clubbing. A terrible decision if you ask me, but at least I never have to see that disappointment. Not to mention the racism...

So I've heard, but at least with Kaiden the lack of significant dialogue will be because he's not actually saying it, rather than having lots that's just rubbish. Besides, maybe they'll patch it, some day.
ha, I liked her for those reasons in ME1 as well, then in ME2 she pissed me off because she pretty much just leaves you hanging, even though you are about to go on the fight of your life in a couple missions and you FRICKIN ALREADY DIED ONCE.jumpingkaede wrote...

After they turned her from a Military chick into a Super Model? Personally I got with her in ME1 when she was hated because mayn thought she was a religious fanatic and racist for some stupid reason. Than they make her hotter than Miranda and I notice many turned around and romanced her and even tossed Kaiden to his death to bring her alive for an import.
Backtracked the other way.
Loved her in ME1, so full of self-doubt then gaining confidence from Shepard. Spunky, feisty, lots of attitude. Not willing to compromise her beliefs but willing to keep an open mind. Plus girl-next-doorsy + tomboy. Poetry was annoying after awhile.
ME3 she's all sad and emo all the time. Constantly mistrusting Shepard to an even greater extent than she did in ME2 if that makes any sense. After Shepard saved her and some of Horizon + defeated the Collectors. Plus even more poetry.
I'm spacing her for Miranda.

So I had Shepard romance Tali, then saw what they did to Ash in ME3... I bet my Dog the Bounty Shepard is glad he moved on now.

I didn't care for her pre-transformation.
She was just as irritating post-transformation.
Seriously, woman?
