I liked her in ME1 and romanced her. Hated her in ME3. Regret ever romancing her and keeping her alive on Virmire. She has even less of a personality in ME3 than Kaidan, and none of her dialogue is particularly important or interesting. And I'm okay with a little sprucing up of the look, but her makeup was way too much. You're fighting in the war to end all wars, lady, not going to your junior prom.

I'd leave both of them on Virmire, given the chance.

Mt first play through of ME1 I romanced her, in ME2 I stayed loyal and I romanced Ashley in 3.
I have never saved Kaiden. ever.
Lets face it Ashley has family, Kaiden has constant migranes, that nuke on virmire is like a multi-megaton asprine for him.

That's my reason for saving Ash everytime. If it wasn't for Ash's family I'd probably leave her there.

I enjoyed Ashley William's company in ME1.  Whether you romanced her or not, she was willing to talk, and had opinions that made her more 3 dimensional.  It was worth spending time with her as she had hopes, dreams, and a life.  The romance there seemed less forced.

Ashley was unavailable in ME2, except on Horizon where Shepard just could not say anything Williams was willing to hear due to his association with Cerberus.  Shepard would have happily punched TIM in the face for leaking his work with Cerberus had the opportunity presented itself.

Ashley was a very changed character in ME3.  I grant Ashley looked good in ME3.  Her change in appearance in ME3 I had hoped was because she was feeling more confident about herself.  I guess that was lost when she lost her fight with EVA, or maybe it was the stare down over the councilors.  I'm not sure.  Still, Ashley's distrust that Shepard had actually left Cerberus looked like it could have been a good story.

Oops.

The Shepard / Williams romance was just not there.  Normal conversation was Ashley acknowledging his presence by saying Zaeed style that she was catching up on paperwork.  Good conversations included:
1. The one where Shepard and Williams become a couple.
2. The conversation where Williams is hung over, and has been sleeping on the cold deck after James drank Ashley under the table.
3.  I'm not sure how Shepard and Williams wound up in bed before heading for Earth, but okay.  There was little context for it.
4.  Taking Ashley to TIM's Cerberus Base for that raid was the most lively Ashley has been in ME3.  It was good that she actually felt bad about missing out on the Collector Base raid.

I think I will send Ashley back to Hackett on my next play through to see what happens that way.

I'm replaying ME1 through 3. She's definitely getting Virmired this time.

The best thing about Ashley's attitude at the beginning of ME3 is that you can seriously shut her down by taking the renegade "I won't explain myself to you" option.

It's too bad BioWare fell in love with auto-dialogue - we really should've gotten the option outside when the VS first makes their comment about Shepard and Cerberus. If you never liked either of them, you shouldn't be forced into playing nice.

Backtrack? Ashley was great in ME1-2 (even accounting for her forced VS arguing) and I found that if you can get past the incredibly lame distrustfulness she can be pretty great.

As long as you stick her mug in a helmet so she follows regulations like the soldier she claims to be.

my stupid reason was she said things like "I can't tell the difference between the aliens and the animals " etc.

Oh that? That was a bugged line of dialogue meant to be said around the keepers. An honest mistake, one I wish bioware could have fixed.

Even if she said that at any other time, you have to admit its somewhat true. If I ever went to someplace like the citadel, looked around, and saw things like Hanar, elcor, keepers, and vorcha (which are considered vermin despite being able to use technology and capable of language.) I would also have a bit of trouble telling any pets the species might have from the animals.

After they turned her from  a Military chick into a Super Model? Personally I got with her in ME1 when she was hated because mayn thought she was a religious fanatic and racist for some stupid reason. Than they make her hotter than Miranda and I notice many turned around and romanced her and even tossed Kaiden to his death to bring her alive for an import.

I stuck with Miranda, despite my disappointment how little screen time she was given. I do have a Shep for Ashley though. Just no longer my main.

I do feel like Ashley didn't get a lot of love from the writers.

I liked her in ME1 and have grown to dislike her in ME3.

All the mistrust she slaps on me - she clearly doesn't trust me so why should we be together?

Liara and Miranda turned out to be way more understanding. My next playthroughs will be back with them. Oh, and Ashley gets ninja-save-edited to have an unfortunate accident on Virmire.

Muahahaha.

I never really liked her. It just came down to a personality conflict. I wanted to smack her a few times when her mouth shot before her head did, but really more or less " tolerated her" in a way anyone would a co-worker. That never changed really.

No. I carried over a save specifically to cheat on her because I wanted to see her reaction and, if I hadn't found a peaceful solution, would have shot her dead to save the idiot councilmembers.

After Mass Effect 1 finished and I played it some more I kind of warmed up to her. Yeah she was still needlessly callous and inflammatory, but I learned to overlook that. And since Horizon was a bad situation for both VS's, I was still willing to give her a chance. I carried over the save because I wanted to see the reaction as Tali had become my #1 romance and out of a little spite.

Then Mars happens. I was... annoyed... by her antics throughout that mission. I had believed going into ME3 that I had proven irrevocably why I chose to work with Cerberus AND how I viewed them. I destroyed the base and gave the finger to TIM so my ties were officially cut after that mission.

But Ashley refused to accept that. I stopped the Reapers with her in ME1, I stopped the Collectors without her in ME2, and I stopped the Reapers alone in the Viper Nebula. She knew my actions. She knew me. But she doubted my motivations three times on Mars, and that was three times too many. I gave her Horizon because lets face it, I was dead. I myself have argued that I would have rather stayed dead and let Garrus or someone else handle the Reaper threat so I can understand why she doubted me. Still didn't make much sense as I usually had Garrus with me on that mission, but I tried to ignore it.

But Mars undid that small measure of empathy. I still visited her in the hospital but was frustrated by the friendly dialog. By the time I reached the Cerberus Coup I was fed up with being questioned. I was fed up with not being trusted by a former friend. I would have pulled the trigger if I had no other option and I would not have felt bad about it.

I really loved her in ME1 - I always liked talking to her and took her everywhere. I loved seeing her in ME2 as well.

Honestly, I didn't care that she still had Cerberus hangups on Mars or on the Citadel, though I will admit I was a bit stung when she pointed her damn gun at my Shepard's face during the coup.

But that really wasn't the biggest problem I had with her. After Mars it felt like her personality was just drained. She seemed really removed from everyone and pretty quiet. It also felt like any friendship she and my femshep had was virtually non-existent. I guess I just wanted her to be like Liara - barging into Shepard's quarters, talking and trying to reach out.

I tried replaying and just let her go with Hackett. She was the character I was looking forward to seeing the most and I ended up not missing her at all.

She was a xenophobic racist. It was her role to highly the xenophobic and racist humanity that just had suffered to a big war with Aliens and now basically still held grudges. Even though her role served a purpose it didn't made her less of a xenophobic racist.

I actually have 2 prime saves, in the 2nd one she is alive, in my personal canon its Kaidan. Though i don't think she looks very much like Ashley anymore. Haven't really played the 2nd one. With that ending we have, there is really no incentive to keep playing.

Really, the more i try to play it, the mroe aware i become on how much simply fell short.

But you're doing something good for Ash's family in killing her .  They don't have to pay for the stupid plastic surgeries Ashley for whatever reason got between ME2 and ME3 that made her look like a tranny.....

In ME1 Kaiden was pretty meh but to be honest nobody really was anything special in ME1.  In ME3 Ashley is not only annoying ( believe it or not Kaiden is not ) but also completely useless as a squaddie. Vega at least has a few useful skills ..
