At least you're honest about it being an unpopular opinion, which is more than I can say for most pro-enders. Not many facts can penetrate the bubble of those people.fle6isnow wrote...

Kaidan is better than Ashley.
Liara is my least favorite character, and I wish she could have died on Virmire.

2. I preferred the geth as killer robots and didn't care much for Legion or the reveal of "orthodox" geth.
3. I liked Ashley's distrust towards aliens in ME1 and felt it made her character unique and more interesting in a positive way.
4. I thought the Mako was fun and planet scanning only started to bother me on my third playthrough and beyond.

1. I think the Miranda romance is the best written romance in the series.
2. I thought Jacob's twist as RI was the most interesting thing about him.
3. I did not want EDI to get a body. Seriously, every time I see her, I think "Look out, Fembot! Judo Chop"
4. I'm okay with Thane dying heroically trying to save the Salarian Councilor. (Less okay with his silly charge...)
5. I'm okay with the Chef/Janitor not being in ME3.
6. I don't think anything and everything should be a LI. Seriously, Kirk had standards.
7. I think you should shoot Mordin during at least on play-through. The scene that follows is so amazingly well done. Gut-wrenching, but fantastic writing,.
8 Sometimes I didn't get all the upgrades to the Ship in ME2 so Jack would die. Even if I mined the ore.
9. I'm really annoyed Reave is Kaiden's bonus power.
10. I think Casey Hudson deserves more credit for ME1+2 than scorn for ME3's ending (The Ending is still terrible, and it should/must be fixed).

-I really liked Kaidan in ME3
-I liked ME2 Illium and Omega more than ME1 Citadel
-ME3 is a great game, even with the endings

- Most of the alien designs are bland and uninteresting
- The relationships post ME1 feel silly and contrived. The sex scenes are like watching two mannequins rub against each other.
- Romancing alien squadmates other than Liara is disgusting.
- ME1 isn't a great RPG. Almost every game play mechanic is clunky.
- The multiplayer is one of the best horde modes I have ever played.

Yea, I can agree with that. I'm a big Star Trek fan, and when I was playing through the games there was barely any character trait, plot device, or alien race that I didn't already recognize from Trek. Seriously, without Star Trek, there could have been no Mass Effect.

Agree with pretty much all those, except ME1 romances. Even those were silly and contrived. And I was also disappointed by the black-and-white morality system. The Witcher handles it much better.

Examples:
1.) She criticizes Charles Saracino, the pro human/racist Terra Firma politician running for office
2.) She's posthumously quoted as saying, "In the end, we're all just animals."
3.) Seems to get along just fine with Garrus, even with the animosity she initially has towards Turians due to the First Contact War and all that stuff about her grandfather.

2. I actually liked the Mako, and thought the driving controls were intuitive (Xbox 360)
3. I don't much care for the thermal clip system.

I am not a big fan of Liara. She annoyed me a bit in the first game, and although her character got better over the series, I can't shake off that initial dislike.
Mass Effect 1 is my favorite in the series.
I thought Mass Effect 3 was a bit cheesy with its overusage of memes from previous games, like the Garrus calibration jokes and Mordin singing.
I prefer the ME1 Vanguard to the ME2 and ME3 Vanguard and hate how they changed it.
EDI in ME3 was the stupidest squadmate idea ever. Even dumber was her romance with Joker.

- I have zero issues with Jacob.
- Ash was homely in ME1
- Al-Jilani was right

- ME1 the Liara romance felt super rushed and was kind of like, er what? when it happened.
- Driving around in the Mako was alright at first, but after a while the planets just became super repetitive other than the planet color.

-ME1 had the worst shooting mechanics by far.
Agreed, but how much of the NPC interaction would you give up? The NPCs were so great that I was willing to let the story slide, especially because it's the middle episode.someguy1231 wrote...
-ME2 had too much focus on characters and romances, to the point that the Collectors/Reapers seemed to be more like a sidequest than the main quest.
No fair! That's a lesser of two great evils choice...someguy1231 wrote...
-Planet scanning, while not exactly thrilling, was still better than the Mako.
I thought just about everybody agreed on this, too.someguy1231 wrote...
-Kai Leng was stupidly overpowered and existed more as plot device than an actual character. A villainous Mary Sue, basically.
Anyway, I know you weren't necessarily looking for agreement or rebuttals, so a few of my own:
- The giant killer robot reaper baby was schlock sci- fi that I wish had never happened. It might have even been foreshadowing of greater evil to come... (I'll avoid the dreaded e-word for this thread.)
- The ME series wasn't really an RPG experience, despite good plot branching and great NPC interaction. It was more like a choose your own adventure with FPS mechanics.
- The ME series hasn't been graphically modern since ME1. Textures, HDR, and everything else are 7 years out of date. It's not a big gripe to me, but it would've been nice to see the ME universe with modern tech.
- The kinect decision was an evil gimmick from EA, that took development resources--and more importantly--limited console hardware resources away that could have seen much better use.
- Talimancers are highly intelligent people with great depth of character and exceedingly good taste. (Just wanted to end on a positive, plus I love her character.)

Ashley is awesome. A deep, complex, interesting character. (Or she was until she had nothing to do in ME3)
Tali is overrated. She and Liara both had that quiet, awkward nerd-girl personality in ME1, but Liara managed to grow out of it and become more interesting. Tali is still awkward nerd-girl and nothing else.
The Mako was a great vehicle. It was the jagged, impassable terrain in ME1 that made the planet exploration portions annoying.
Multiplayer is fun.
EDI becoming a sexbot who promptly engages in a relationship with Joker is the dumbest non-ending thing about ME3.

Its not just Mass Effect its all the across the board... Dragon Age: Origins was just a generic fantasy story... a good story but still very generic.
Mass Effect while good - Bioware just put a whole lot of sizzle and not enough steak... its was good sizzle but sizzle none then less.
Others are...
I never thought Ashley was racist.
Miranda is not the evil **** everyone makes her out to be.
I like Tali but damn it the Quarians WERE WRONG!!!
Cerberus was not a bad idea just **** exucetion and ****** poor leadership..
Indroctrinating The Illusive Man was the singles most dumbest thing I have ever seen done... save the ending.
The Reapers - not really scary at all.
Killing Shepard at the start of ME 2 - was terrible way to do a time skip
All the games were too short they could easily been 10 -20 more hours on each.
Jacob romance was fine - he moved on... deal with it.
Thane death was masterful - bring him back would be complete betrayal of his story arc - his romance was about quality not quanity.
EDI getting a body and developing as character... great Idea... She is everything Antithesis of everything Star Child.. which makes me like her even more.

-Along the same lines, I rather like the Dalatrass, because I completely agree with her.
-I like Kaidan a lot. I have nothing against Ashley, but she never survives my games.
-I prefer Michel to Chakwas.
-I don't really like Tali and the quarians in general.
-Couldn't stand Jack in ME2, but she's fine in the third one. Am glad she isn't a squad mate though.
-Hate EDI's Commander Data Pinocchio schtick.
