--The "streamlining" of ME2 wasn't all bad. After playing ME1&2 back-to-back, I realized how horrible and intrusive ME1's inventory really was; getting rid of it was a good idea, though they went too far. ME3's upgrade system was a decent compromise.
--Alpha Protocol did inventory/upgrades and branching quests better than any of the Mass Effect games.
--I like the idea of exploring planets for treasures and hidden quests, but the driving mechanics of the Mako felt so silly that I'm glad they got rid of it.
--Martin Sheen's performance as the Illusive Man was cheesy, and not as nearly as good as it's made out to be.
--Aria is annoying, and comes off as trying WAY too hard.
--The entire Collector plot of ME2 was a completely pointless sideshow that derailed the main conflict; virtually every behavior and decision in ME2 made no sense.
--I didn't mind the way they handled Tali's face, in concept; it avoided the uncanny valley problem of many of the in-game human models like Miranda. Bioware deserve the mockery they've received for photoshopping a stock photo, however.
--Despite being an Earthling, I really did not care about "taking back" Earth. I've never been to Earth in the ME series, and I don't know anyone on Earth, except Anderson who was only put there to manufacture an emotional connection for just this reason.
--Anderson's death was predictable, anticlimactic, and completely failed to move me emotionally. (Really, was there ever any doubt he was proud of you?)
--The origin and motive of the Reapers should only have been hinted at and never explained in detail.
--The Protheans should have stayed dead and in the past. Having a live Prothean appear in the game was a terrible idea that undermined ther mystery as well as the drama of the final sacrifice described by Vigil, which was maybe the best piece of lore in the whole series.
--ME3 is not even close to "99% perfect" even ignoring the train-wreck ending.
