-Liara is a Mary-Sue or is very close to being one, especially in ME3. Even Shepard comes very close too on occassion.
-Pretty much all of the human squadmates (Ashley, Kaiden, Jacob, etc) are bland and uninteresting.
-ME1 had the worst shooting mechanics by far.
-Planet scanning, while not exactly thrilling, was still better than the Mako.
-Kai Leng was stupidly overpowered and existed more as plot device than an actual character. A villainous Mary Sue, basically.

I agree with these :)
Seriously, driving the mako was pure HELL! and I kind of enjoyed scanning planets for resources, but then I got the stupid "not able to ESC bug" -.-*
The only human squadmate i like is James Vega ;D

I thought the concept of EDI finding her humanity was undermined by the fact that the first thing they do with it is imply that Joker wants to actually have intercourse with her robotic shell.

I wont' go to the details that many of the post have done. I liked most of the games, so I'll pick the most obvious ones.

- Never liked Kaiden.
- Ashley's 'interest' was a bit too heavy handed in ME1.
- Diana Allers as a character was a joke. Poor animation, voice acting. Unpolished. A polished character I would have preferred.

Believe me, that opinion is not unpopular in the slightest.

-The shift in the game from ME1 to 2 was a good one
-Theres nothing wrong with the ending from a story or thematic standpoint, it was just poorly executed
-Multiplayer was a great addition and is probably the best online co op horde style I've ever played
-Player choice was always an overhyped illusion. We could never really change the plot, just change how we experienced it
-Ashley is a terrible character
-Exploration was cool the first time but wasn't a good idea
-The whole series would have been phenomenally better if they had planned the ending from the start

1. "Mass Effect" never had that much "choice" to begin with.

2. The "Mass Effect" plotline was never that good.

3. Space magic, plotholes, and consistency issues have existed throughout the entire trilogy.

You know what, I agree. The character writing made it all worth it though.

That is true...but we could forgive all those things if the endings showed what was really important in this whole trilogy:  the characters!

Hammerhead > Mako
Missed Rupert in ME3
Liked Javik
Liked Liara
Didn't like either Ash or Kaiden
Thought Hale > Meer
Garrus rules
Liked Vega
Never liked the Geth -- bunch of toasters
Thought Joker's attraction to EDI was unhealthy
Was disappointed with the lack of development of Chakwas over the entire series.
Liked Traynor
Liked Jack
Liked Zaeed
Neutral on Tali, but always would pick her over Legion.
Lost count of gratuitous ass shots of Miranda
Thought soundtrack on Crucible was sappy

 My most notable ones.:

-Noveria was the best Hub world.
-Jacob wasn't a bad character.
-Combat in the first game never bothered me.
-Equipment in the first game never bothered me.
-Skills in the first game never bothered me.
-Planet scanning in Mass Effect 2 was better then in Mass Effect 3.
-Mass Effect 2's N7 missions were better then Mass Effect 3's N7 Missions.
-I hate Jack.
-Artistic Vision was lost long ago.

I'm surprised by how many people didn't like Tali, even saying she was a bad squadmate. True, her usefulness diminished in ME2 & 3, but in ME1 it was Shephard for firepower, Liara for biotics and Tali for tech. Supremely balanced unit, and it remains reasonably balanced in the other two games too (just that there's much less need for a tech expert).

I think the fact that this is the "unpopular opinions" thread may have something to do with that.

-Liked Meer more than Hale's Voice Acting.
-Liara was very Mary Sue-ish
-Liked Vega
-Loved Kaidan
-Loved Cortez
-Hated Ashley
-Hated Miranda
-Found Zaeed cliche
-Loved the Hammerhead and despised the Mako
-Loved the Geth much much more than the Quarians
-Found the Joker/EDI romance odd, to say the least.
-In terms of Gameplay and mechanics, I found ME1 the weakest and 3 the strongest
-Felt Cerberus was overused in ME3, felt like they were the main villain of the game instead of the Reapers
-I liked ME2's planet scanning
-Didn't mind Kai Leng
