While I know Miss Merizan wasn't exactly reliable on all accounts in the beginning days of the Retake Movement, Bioware is aware of the volatility of the situation now. I highly doubt Miss Merizan is allowed to say anything at this point that

A - Is not something established by Bioware's leadership
B - Can be interpreted as false hope
C - Could lead to enormous backlash is proven false

I'm staying pessimistic, but take the comments as you do

Exactly how I feel.  I mean, the one good thing about being the size of EA is that eventually you have to get your **** together and get the team in line.  How the hell could they let her say stuff that could be even construed as baseless hype?

She could get into a lot of trouble for posting things like this. Remember that tweets were removed from the Mass Effect twitter page because they were unfounded. Being a community manager she knows damn well what she can and can't say.

Good on her imo. If I was her, I'd be all out trolling at this stage.

Translation of tweet number 1: "We are not rewriting the entire Priority: Earth mission. We are not ruling out or confirming anything regarding changes to the final scene with the Catalyst."

Translation of tweet number 2: "We know that some of the fan base would like to have additional ending options besides the three presented by the Catalyst. We have no comment at this time as to whether or not that will happen."

Haha.  Not to take dev's sides, but hell, if I had to see some of the stuff that's been said to them, I'd have a hard time not flipping out on every **** who flamed me on Twitter.

Well all I got out of those two answers is that there are no new endings, which is what has been said all along, and that she didn't want to comment on whether there are more options at the crucible. So effectively no new info here.

You realize that new options in the crucible are pretty much a given, and are most likely just investigative conversation options to provide clarity? It's on you guys if you get your hopes up.

No new ending means no new ending, what's so complicated to understand here :P

however,

I'm certain BioWare took note based upon fans' feedback that they want their end cutscene to be personalized i.e. scenes and end results will somewhat vary based upon choices made.

It's interesting, but so is the indoctrination theory, neither is correct until Bioware gives us something.

I hope she gets given a little bit of play room to drop a few more hints though...

Take it with a grain of salt, but still promising. To paraphrase Forbes "Bioware has a road map of what the community wants". If they make the same mistakes twice after all this would just be sad...

Well, for some of us, hope isn't an issue.  I know I'm minority here, but I liked the ending, though I hated the plotholes.  That's all I'm really looking for, something to fill in the massive blanks.

I don't really see anything wrong in these tweets, let's break them down.

Tweet 1. She's just sticking to the company line that they won't change the ending and not commenting on the guy's other two points at all.

Tweet 2. All she says is that the devs are aware of the concerns, and she knows that's true because it was her job to give the devs the feedback from social media and the BSN.

I don't think in either tweet she actually promises anything at all, but it's my personal opinion that she's putting a positive, hopeful spin on things because she honestly wants people to like what BW comes out with and be happy with the results.

Translation of tweet number 1:
"We are not rewriting the entire Priority: Earth mission. We are not
ruling out or confirming anything regarding changes to the final scene
with the Catalyst."

There you go.

Yes. One thing about PR is that, once the  PR status is enacted, employees won't be saying ANYTHING that can come back to bite them in the butt. By now, EA clearly understands there is a problem (the extent of their understanding is debatable) and don't think for one second that every single phrase a Bioware employee speaks now isn't heavily filtered.

She is a community manager and knows what she can and cannot say. EA is monitoring everything they do.

And that's where I find it interesting that she wouldn't flat-out deny something that so many people want.  I mean, I know the "extent of understanding is debatable," but at this point they'd have to be beyond idiotic to believe that people aren't analyzing every word EA employees utter on the ME fiasco.  So why not just shoot something down that would otherwise give people that much hope, unless they are at least contemplating the idea?

isnt it really crazy that the fan base is pretty much dependent on the ravings from twitter for any possible info, yet none of this stuff ever originated from the actual forums they run?

far far far more from whatever she have to say

So basically nothing has been confirmed yet. I wouldn't get my hopes up just yet. Bioware made all sorts of "promises" and statements saying they were considering stuff during the development of ME3, but even a lot of the big ones turned out to be false.

Side-note: Is that Jessica Merizan in Ashley's armor? Hot damn...

Personally, I've only ever been on the forums right after releases (this might be the longest I've spent on here)...have they ever actively participated on BSN?  I noticed that there's a DA writer who is commenting on threads all the time (even kind of digging at the ME writers on some points too).
