To be perfectly honest, were I a PR lady I would totally mess with all of your heads all the time for fun.

I can the news articles now: "Bioware PR associate taunts community; comes home to over 300 hungry squirrels loose inside house. Payback or Wildlife Management Issue?"

Please don't tell me you have yet to figure out that this'll  not be the only piece of DLC released, free or not.

Hugs?  No.  Manly high-fives that adhere to archaic gender stereotypes?  We'll see.

Deal!

And back on topic: I like what Jessica Merizan is posting. We will see how much it was worth once Extended Cut is out but she often does make me feel better so that is good enough already. I dont expect her to know everything but she does get some inside knowledge and they all know how volatile situations is at the moment so flood of false promises would be unwise.

Yeah, I said it before...I can't imagine, in any crazy reality, anyone at EA letting her start a fire in ME fandom after everything that's happened.

She practically said "Hello, I'm not interested in what you're telling me, but look, I responded, I'm listening. Here, have an empty answer, happy? bye".

See, there's nothing wrong with her saying that, and if we get more options then great, but if we don't people will accuse her of lying and other nonsense. It's just better not to read too much into twitter comments.

It's just really odd that she would specifically say none of the "first thing he mentioned" and not address the more options inside the Crucible thing.

That's all the ending needs to be acceptable, IMO, just an option to tell the Catalyst no. Then at least Shepard remains in-character.

I am starting to like Jessica Merizan very much. And not because of her comments or what she does. More so for what she stands for, and where she came from and where she is now.

Don't know. I may not agree with her on some points or opinions, but I definitely have respect for her that goes beyond the forum community moderator head princess thing-a-title. :)

Well, she talks to us. That's a HUGE step up from a lot of the people in the company.

The ducks simply like the person that feeds them chips. Sometimes the chips are stale, but that doesn't matter: as would any good duck, we're gonna poop on the lawn by the end of the day, anyway.

Nonsense, what she does is WORSE than saying nothing, all she is feeding you bull**** and false/veiled promises, how can you defend that? I prefer Ray's PR statements over some of the things she says on twitter...

I defend it on the grounds that many PR reps read from a manual and are too darn scared to say anything if they don't already know the answer. Maybe she screws up some times. Maybe she is intentionally baiting us. I can't prove which one, either way, but a positive attitude can go a loooong way when dealing with an upset consumer base.

Plus, if she is intentionally baiting us, it'll come back around. This community has a healthy amount of watchdogs and plenty of people more than happy to never let lies be lived down.

I wonder how the comunity would react if it was Chris Prestly saying the things Jessica does. People would've demanded his firing 10 times over by now lol

Perhaps, perhaps not.

I do believe that if you're going to discuss your own company's products, you need to come to the table with facts, not simply speculation.

I get that she uses her personal Twitter for her own personal conversations, so she feels justified in speculating things like the Normandy not being in a relay corridor and crashing on Earth or Mars, but I can't agree with having conversations like that in public. If you want to write fan-fiction or have make-believe sessions with your friends, you need to do them in private (or anonymously) insofar as it relates to your actual employer.

Yeah, plus her Twitter bio screams BioWare all over it.  Let's face it, most of her followers are probably BW fans.  (Um, I don't mean to imply she's unpopular, I just mean that anyone in that capacity at a game co. would have many fans following him/her).

It's her personal Twitter account, tweets can be deleted, screenshots can be dismissed, it's all much easier to deny than official statements in 15 different magazines. Just my opinion..

I know, I know, everyone says she isn't reliable, but come on...after all this...after EVERYTHING that's happened...would anyone at BioWare/EA really be cool with her saying stuff like this with absolutely no basis?

And I'm not saying it is true.  Just wondering what people think.

Keep it cool, people.

put it in the news--how would Bioware react if every gaming website started reporting this "new option teased" news?
we got nothing to lose anyway.

Man, I'm tired of this cryptic BS

can't she say anything without being ambiguous? just say

"we are (or are not) going to add new choices on crucible"
or at least "we are still considering"

RGB is total and utter bull, especially because the one ending where Shepard survives means you have to annihilate the Geth. The whole synthesis ending is an absolute joke as is the control option.

Still, i'm at the point where I just want some closure. It would also be good if Bioware could say whats canon in terms of future game because i'm going to be honest, i'm still unsure if i'll be playing any future ME games. However if Synthesis is the real ending then i'm done with Mass Effect.

I'm kinda getting tired of the freaking out over a (admittedly very nice person of a) PR flack's every tweet.

She's in public relations. Patrick Weekes and Michael Gamble are in writing and design. She's not in the loop as much as the guys I mentioned are, and I mention them because they're spreading, dare I say, hope when they tweet and talk. Jessica is spreading the company line, which is what she's supposed to do.

Eh, I think like most people I tend to take her tweeks "as-is" and without any warranties. If she's answering questions she truly doesn't know the answers to then she's putting her credibility as a liason to the fans at stake, but she's not really harming anyone since she's not a developer and her tweets don't purport to be authoritative.

On a related note, it seems there is a tendancy to occassionally read too much into tweets and brief statements from BW staff. The gaming media was probably the worst offender by running their "new endings" headlines even though BW never committed to new endings and actually came out against the idea. But in this specific case, saying "we've ruled out doing X but we haven't ruled out doing Y" does not mean "we are going to do Y." Her first tweet arguably leaves open the possibility that there could be more options inside the crucible portion of the game but it definitely doesn't commit to that.
