I am absolutely certain it will extend and magnify the artistic vision of BioWare. You will get to see how and what generated all three colors, and a 10 minute cutscene expanding the backstory of Star Child. I have no faith in this "clarification".

And if shepard can go out like a champ guns blazing. . . . that would be an awesome option aswell

Well they're addressing 1/3 of the problem, so it will probably only calm 1/3 of the angry fans. I think in the end Bioware will lose. And that is a shame because I really don't want them to. But that's what happens when you become out of touch with your fans.

I expect a vast, vast improvement. I think people may be surprised how much a thoroughly well-crafted execution and expansion will fill the ending in and make it good. Maybe even set up the existence of the Starchild with a bit here and there earlier in the game so it feels like he belongs in the story. Telling a story properly (instead of with non sequiturs) can make all manner of ideas work well.
