Oh and to add to my previous point, I won't be buying anything more for ME3 because........it won't correct the last ten minutes into something more coherent, comprehende'?
We are building a consensus... Will the Extended Cut be good?

Well if they can't outdo the fan made epilogues then it's time to move on to something else. Like door to door vacuum sales.

i disliked the ending and i highly doubt they will be able to explain how casper got there.

"Better", perhaps.
It will not be "good", as it will not be able to resolve the problems with the current ending.

We can only hope but I'm not really expecting anything more than an epilogue or additional cut scenes. I highly doubt they will contain any voice overs in those scenes either since the DLC is free.

At this point I have no idea.
If they do something along the lines of IT, then it will probably be good.
If they do some minor tweaks (such as saying the Relays weren't turned to dust and can be rebuilt fairly rapidly, etc) then it could possibly be acceptable. Still including Starbrat is a bad idea though and WILL hamper this.
If they just clarify "Galactic Dark Age" then I'll be ****ing pissed.
Basically as long as I get my blue babies and can reunite with my squad, I'll be OK with the ending.

I want it to work....I think it will to an extent.
There are two central problems with the ending:
1.The Catalyst completely destroys and undoes the entire mythology of the series and negates any catharsis which might have actually been achieved.
2. As it stands, there is absolutely no closure or falling action with any of the characters at all.
Based on what we've heard...I think problem number 2 will be fixed...so there's that. And that might be enough actually.
Lost and Battlestar Galactica both had very questionable conclusions to their central plotlines, but we had a chance to say goodbye to most of the characters we had grown to love over the years and so even though we had to kind of roll our eyes at certain things, we completed our journey with the characters. If the extended dlc can give us that....it might be fine.
My worry though is that spacebrat is far more damaging to the story than Bioware is willing to appreciate.
The literal "cork" that Jack plugged back into place in Lost and the revelation that "god did it" in BSG may be lazy or dissapointing....but they weren't reversals or contradictions of the entire series'. Lost had slowly progressed to a point where nothing was really too crazy. In BSG, while "god did it" felt dissapointingly straightforward it was certainly discussed at great length through the series.
Conversely; spacebrat manages to completely reverse core themes of the series, changes the nature of the antagonist(s) and replaces the central conflict in the story in the last five minutes of the game.
I just don't see how on earth they think they can resolve this issue.
Spacebrat doesn't need to be clarified. He needs to be cut.

You can't explain the ending. Star Child would make no sense with more story devoted to it, and nothing can explain the last flight of the Normandy.
Telling us exactly what happens when we pick our color of space magic won't keep it from being space magic, and stupid.

I've got a feeling that their promise of a free extended-ending clarification DLC, that is supposed to come out this summer, will be delayed and the whole project may completely fall apart all together.
It took them an entire month just to fix the face import bug, which shouldn't have been a problem in the first place. They already rushed to release this game in an unfinished state and now they're promising to have some free DLC in about 3 months? Ya... right.
Plus, they aren't even fixing the ending. It's like trying to spray perfume on a turd, it might not smell as bad, but it's still a turd. The ending is unfixable, it needs to just be completely chopped off and rewritten.

I think they should either change the entire ending or just leave it alone and find billions of mass effect 3 copies in dumpsters. I just don't understand why they wouldn't do it right in the first place! It's like making a Die Hard: 5- "Live Free Or Die Harder" and having him die at the end after all those movies. Its completely pointless and after all the crap we did you still got a Die or Die storyline (with different colors I might add), thats really the only way to explain it.

If Bioware had just come out and admitted that the ME3 ending was terrible, and that they were really, really sorry, I might be inclined to believe that they would be putting their full efforts into fixing the problem.
But judging by the response that we've gotten from Bioware I doubt that they're going to devote a lot of time and money to creating some free DLC. They'll probably get the 2nd rate programmers and temps to come in and make the DLC so that it doesn't cost them that much.
And just imagine how insanely hard it's going to be trying to properly and adequately explain any of that Star Child/Space Magic garbage.

Past data indicates... will not matter. As choices did not matter in ending, the DLC will not matter.
Analysis: Crap ending will remain crap ending with more fluff.

I don't expect anything of significant quality after the original ending. I could be pleasantly surprised, but I highly, highly doubt it. I'd rather have no expectations with the possibility of being pleasantly surprised than having fairly high expectations and the great risk of being severely disappointed (as was the case with the ending that shipped with the game).

Clarifiying bad writing with good writing doesn't give you good writing. It still gives you crap writing.
Itll take some really excellent writing to tidy it up. I dont think bioware have it in them anymore.

I expect it will be a significant improvement over the original ending.
That said, I don't think the original ending will ever be 'good' no matter how much 'clarity' and 'closure' you try to add on to it.

As they are extending on a already crappy ending it will only be extended crapp.
Dont they get it I mean for a game with 3 supposed main endings it sure looks like its only got ONE ending to begin with and they should totaly rewrite it and us give VASTLY different endings instead, hell cut it Down to another a.b.c but ONES that arnt so incredibly lame and stupid.

Extending bad endings doesn't make it good endings...
I bet the 'extended cut' should have been in the game, but for whatever reason (time, etc...) it didn't make it...
Well, we shall see when it'll be released, but I have the same bad feeling about this that I had when I saw Shepard losing his armor and moving at 'grandmother' speed after the red beam hit him!...
Edit: I agree with those peoples above who thinks they should AT LEAST change the 3 existing endings so they don't looks the same with only color as a difference...

This platform has concluded that consensus can no longer be achieved based on Bioware's previous performance. The determination has been made that any consensus must be the result of aggregating the experiences of other platforms prior to getting hopes up for an acceptable ending.

Ok maybe I should clarify why I think there's no way to correct what we experienced.
The *cough* ending as it is, isn't an ending because, it doesn't finish the same way as the first 2 iterations, we KNEW when the end happened in ME1&2, because it was COMPLETELY obvious, this "nightmare"/"dreamstate" wasn't a conclusion.............it was an intermission/commercial/public-announcement, about what not to do to your FANBASE!!!!!!!!

My guess?
Original ending = being buried in horse crap up to your waist
Extended cut = being buried in horse crap up to your eyeballs
If they prove me wrong, I'll happily apologize for the image...
