I'm skeptical but it's free so I'm going to keep an open mind and reserve judgement until I see it.

I hope so. Can't really say anything other than that at this point.

The ending is fundamentally flawed. Building off of a broken premise will lead to just more broken stuff. The plot holes aren't a result of "Oops, forgot to put that in". They're a result of an ending that doesn't respect the rest of the story, that comes out of nowhere, that uses horrible contrivances that make no sense. You can't fix that unless you really fix it. Throw away what's broken and replace it with something that works.

Clarifiying bad writing with good writing doesn't give you good writing. It still gives you crap writing.
Itll take some really excellent writing to tidy it up. I dont think bioware have it in them anymore.
Its not that they don't have it in them, its that they dug themselves such a huge hole to climb out of.
When you let a s*** stain in the carpet sit from your dog for 6 months, you are kinda screwed. The stain is set in, it smells like crap and its not going away with just air freshener.
At that point, you get rid of the crappy carpet and just buy new carpet.
My point is that no matter how good the writing is in the Extended Cut, the fundation of the bad writing is still in place and you can still tell how bad that writing is. It is much easier to just replace the ending (or provide an alternate ending) and make everything have a good standard of writing instead of putting good on top of really bad.

I used up what little faith I had reaming in BW to keep my CE pre-order...alas I have no faith the ending will do anything for me except solidify my beliefs that I shoulda waited before buying...

With cautious optimism, It's the best we're going to get, and if it improves anything, I will be looking forward to it.
Soberly matter-of-fact, But the true ending to Commander Shepard's story will still be in my imagination.

Based on empirical evidence, no, they won't be. Confirmed false advertising, use of word "artistic vision", and the inability to admit they made a mistake are my evidence. We are just watching history repeat. They will promise everything you paid 60$ for and more, as long you keep their game alive.

Oh I hope so. I'm going to remain optimistic and rage-free but if this EC is another half-assed attempt to 'clarify' then I'm going to rage one final time and leave (unless my Warden comes back for DA3).

Building upon the current ending?
Probably not, although it will assuage a few of the 'on the fence' fans.

I'll say this...
Can't make the endings worse.
It will now be whether be a matter of will it be good, bad, so-so, etc...
