DA2 may have been a disappointment to many people. But at least they didn't torch the franchise.
Dragon Age can still be redeemed.
And in all honesty I didn't hate DA2 that much =)
Yes, it was far from as good as Origins. But still a game I could enjoy.
Just bring back the actual RPG elements in DA3 and all is well.

Well C&C: Generals 2 is underway by one of their studios. The Dragon Age team is presumably working away on the 3rd installment. So that leaves it to the Mass Effect crew (Edmonton iirc) to be the most likely to be doing a new game in future. Once this year is over with though, what with all the single and multiplayer content they have planned for ME3.
Just to clarify, the Dragon Age team is based out of the Edmonton studio as well.
That explains a lot.

My best guess is that they´ll do another Mass Effect or rather a game set in that universe called Mass (something).
I wouldn´t be suprised if it´s an entirely new trilogy with a new main character, new story, etc... set a couple hundred years in the future, with the stuff you did in the original ME trilogy being history. Much like they did with DA2.
No matter what Bioware does, I´m looking forward to it anyway. They´re like a sibling I´m constantly fighting, but who I still love.
I think I'm gonna vomit at the idea of Mass *Blank*
also Mass Shift was a total fake...confirmed by devs to be fake I believe.

Bioware could be using all this feedback to make Dragon Age 3 a better game.
They actually apparently are, they understood the 3 major complaints: Decisions that Matters, Stop Reusing Levels, Equipment for Followers.
Although on the third aspect they will not allow full control to wear what we want but they will force us to stay true to your class

More lies? They know exactly what to promise. I am not sure they will deliver.
well this time is simple.. they will not get a pre-order from me like Bethesda and CD Projekt still do
I'll just wait for fans reviews

But they can´t really call it Mass Effect 4 imo. That was Shepards trilogy for me and just adding a subtitle would be even worse.

there is still some hope that DA3 might be good in spite of their insistence of spoon feeding us how the characters and their armor should look like to keep them true to their class
Why do developers feel the need to be immersed in my playthrough???

If anything- they'll pull a star wars and just go backwards in time. They still have alot of alien history to play with....

I know I'm in the minority here, but I actually liked Dragon Age 2. Not as much as any of the Mass Effects or Origins, but I thought it was still a pretty good game.
Isabella could have done with some pants, Anders could have kept most of his personality, the environment was a little too small, and the delivery of the ending left something to be desired, but I enjoyed it. The characters were great (some even better some Origins followers), the sidequests were generally good, the new direction of visual design was absolutely fantastic, and the main story was awesome, despite the ending. I feel like a lot of the good things in DA2 are simply overlooked.
Something that I felt dragged DA:O down was the lack of image a lot of the characters had, and the permanent squaddie armor helped that quite a bit, even if it was implemented a little too restrictively.
I hope that, if Bioware survives to make DA3, they find a nice balance between the unbridled story (with lacking gameplay) and overstreamlined gameplay (with lacking story execution).
Of course, it appears that DA:O and DA2 suffer from extreme versions of the same issues present in ME1 and ME2. And that the hope of striking a balance is very similar to the hopes many people had for ME3. Hopefully such a similarity will not persist between DA3 and ME3 after release.
Then again, I've been doing a lot of hoping lately...
if they called it Dragon Age: Awakening Expansion Pack
I would have agree with you although still disappointed by no real choices, since you pretty much get to kill the same people and do the same things no matter what side you are on.
But the problem is that they tryed to pass it for a Full Game calling it Dragon Age 2
Not only that:
- no variety in enemies: templar team had exactly the same structure as bandits, only uniform was different
- endless waves jumping out of nowhere ruined tactical team placement (tank in front, mages in back - oops...)
- pesky invisible rogues with insta-kill and enormous health - DAO had Jarvia, it was a boss, and it was perfect, now five Jarvia in every wave - that's too much
- almost no dialogs with teammates...
I.e. story was boring and combat was annoying. Varric alone simply could not save this game.

I just hope they didn't put too many eggs in the MMO basket. SWTOR is a polished game, but it's not all that different from WoW, and I don't see it being a huge cash cow in the long run. Its strengths, predictably enough. are in the single player story-telling. This is what BioWare does well (normally). I don't see why every game these days tries to have a multiplayer element. There's nothing wrong with multiplayer, but not EVERY game needs to follow this model, which, by necessity, must dilute the impact of choices on the world.
Whew! Sorry was laughing sooo hard, surely you're not serious, either that or you haven't played the game.

People ****ing about dungeons --> who cares, so minor compared to the story/characters/setting/acting/side quests.
I really, REALLY want to see a new Jade Empire, but Bioware has already started work on a new Baldur's Gate. There's a part of their website that is titled Baldur's Gate but they haven't added content to it yet.
