1. DA:O

2. KOTOR

3. Mass Effect

4. BG 1 and 2

Worse Bioware Game:

Neverwinter Nights single player was the worst Bioware has ever done. Don't like MP, so that aspect of the game was worthless to me.

My chart would be like that:

1) DA:O

2) SW: KotOR

3) BG "Trilogy" (but my favourte is BG I)

4) Mass Effect

5) Jade Empire

I'm not interested in MP (or MMO) so I never played NWN even if I read that the SP expansions were pretty good.

Right now it is Dragon Age, but I admit I felt the same way about Mass Effect when it first came out and over the many weeks of playing it ME dropped to 3rd favourite Bioware game after BG2 and KOTOR. So curriently my list is:
1 DA
2BG2
3 KOTOR
4 ME
5 JE
6 NWN
7 BG
The problem is each Bioware game has offered something that has appealed to me more than the others and subsequent games havent matched it. NWN toolset and multiplayer made it a game that could be played well after you got sick of the main campaign(which was pretty quickly). Jade Empire offered my favourite setting(I love chinese martial arts) even if the combat and party mechanics were lacking, Mass Effect offered mind blowing graphics and sound. KOTOR offered my favourite story(if only for the twist) BG2 offered tactical combat and a had size and scope that will never be offered again.

So far DA offers a little bit of each of my favourite Bioware games(except its missing an asian flavour from Jade Empire, there better be an asian continent somewhere in Thedas)

PS: I also have to say DA and Mass Effect offer far more interesting moral choices than other Bioware games.  THey felt like valid choices instead of  obvious good vs evil choices.

Baldurs Gate (Insane how involved I was in that story character)

Baldurs Gate 2 (never understood that title seeing that you never ever go to the city of Baldurs Gate in this one ;))

Dragon Age Origins (Great story, lacking for me in the items department and a few other things. But the story rocks)

Neverwinter Nights (played that game with every class available at some point)

Knights of the Old Republic (First decent Star Wars game in years)

Mass Effect (LOVED the conversation system. I mean really LOVED it)

Jade Empire (Hiyaaah)

1. Nevewinter Nights + All Expansions = playing on multiplayer worlds/mods and development wise, the true game did not really grant me anything.

2. Baldurs Gate 2 + expansion

3. Neverwinter Nights 2 + Expansions - Both MP development/gaming as well as the singleplayer stuff

4. Icewind Dale 1 and 2

11. Somewhere long down here Dragon Age Origins, I really like playing the game, but granting it this long down here due to no multiplayer options to make the game really flourish in the modders/builders world basically it is kind of pointless having a toolset without MP posibilities.

Agreed.  For example, look at the Oblivion mod community, there is hardly any mods of that game.

Not to the intend that would actually entertain a crowd of people playing together, just think about it, PCs are more fun than NPCs to play games with, just my opinion in the matter of reality.

Mass Effect and obviously BG 2. ME is the most immersive game I've ever played, and I too love the scenario. BG 2 is longer and has more roleplaying and sidequests.

BG2 was the best. DAO is pretty darn good. I personally found NWN to be one of the most disappointing games I've ever played. ME started out great but halfway through the game I really lost interest in it.

Eh. I always have a really hard time with rankings. Especially since it's not really fair to compare a game that's over a decade old to a current one.

I've played, finished and loved the Baldur's Gate series, Knights of the Old Republic, Jade Empire and Dragon Age. I own Neverwinter Nights plus expansions but never managed to get into it, especially the atrocious vanilla campaign, so the game got shelved very fast; its only saving grace were a few user-made modules I enjoyed. I also own Mass Effect but likewise couldn't really get into it. It feels too much like a shooter, and I always prefer fantasy to sci-fi.

Of the five I've enjoyed and finished, it is bloody hard to choose. All have good and bad bits. BG1 is definitely the weakest since it had dead boring combat (stupid AD&D rules, never liked that system) and NPC interaction and depth was still barely existant. Still, it was the revival of a genre and the beginning of an epic journey, and for that reason alone it'll always hold a special place in my memories. If I really had to rank them, right now I'd say:

1) Baldur's Gate 2 (SoA + ToB). It's just epic.
2) KotOR and Dragon Age
4) Jade Empire
5) Baldur's Gate 1
6) Mass Effect
7) Neverwinter Nights

Spots 1-4 are very close together and change depending on my mood, though. :)

After BG2 which its just not possible to be surpassed by anything for numerous reasons i have my own list here.

2. Neverwinter nights (the third expansion alone is worth the money)

3. Mass Effect

4. KoTOR

Unfortunately as good as DAO is it just cant compete in my own list of big Bioware games. On its own DAO is pretty good but compared to the other classics its just average at best and THIS IS MY OWN OPINION.

Dragon Age Origins is the best game in regards to story.  The gameplay is REALLY broken though so it loses big points.  Fortunately, it's saved by the fact you can raise and decrease the difficulty at any time to make the game playable.

If anything I think Neverwinter Nights 2: Mask of the Betrayer was one of the best games I've ever played.  NWN 2 was really good but the first expansion takes the cake.  That story really touched me.  The second expansion Storms of Zehir was a horrible rushed mess.

Eh it's the game most like DA there is so that doesn't make sense.

I have to say BG2, I've played it so many times over the years that I've lost count, I love ME and DA:O but I can't justify knocking BG off the top spot until I've been playing them for a few years but I do enjoy both immensely.

On a side note my least favourite Bioware game is Jade Empire, I couldn't immerse myself in the story, it all seemed a bit pants, but maybe it was just the setting I didn't like, I don't do lotus, spirit, monk type stuff, prefer the medieval kill stuff with an over-sized weapon.

NWN's for MP/building.

BG 1 and 2 and all expansions

DA: O

There is no particular order to any of these. Never played Jade Empire, or any of the SW stuff. I played NWN for 5 years. Playing online, anyway. It was my understanding that the initial campaign in NWN was more to show what could be done with the toolset than to actually be a game. Be that as it may, it held my attention for a long time.

1. The Baldur's Gate Series (I don't think I'll ever replay a game as much.) <3

2. Dragon Age (Very fun and solid, and a true RPG.)

3. Icewind Dale (if Bioware did it? The setting, music and villains were good.)

4. Neverwinter Nights (Was really disappointing to me, though community mods have made up for it.)

I haven't finished Jade Empire yet.

Actually that is one thing I did notice.

The number of item models for release was a bit low, but more unsettling is the low number of end game items.
