I really missed everyone from Mass Effect 2, but Thane especially.

I posted over to the ME2 forums that in hindsight a lot of the ME2 characters were a waste in terms of plot / relevance to ME3. IIRC Mordin & Legion were the only characters really pivotal in terms of background information, impact on ME3, etc.

Morinth -- IIRC doesn't make a real appearance in the game. All you get is a Banshee named Morinth late in the game. She couldn't even impersonate "mom" for us to get us out of trouble.

Samara -- Truly a throw-away appearance. No relevance to the plot at all. She could have gotten us out of a sticky situation or maybe she could have appealed for us directly to Asari high command and gotten the Asari onboard more quickly.

Zaeed -- Not much help with the Blue Suns there. No help at all with other Merc. groups

Jacob -- At least he was involved with some Cerberus related people so that wasn't a total waste. Of course if you romanced him your prize was him knocking up someone else.

Kasumi -- I was kind of hoping that the gray box data would prove interesting somehow

Grunt -- Throwaway cameo. I would have liked him as Normandy's resident meathead / squadmate. I was hoping he'd at least lead a squad of Krogans so we could fight together on the Earth level .... maybe we could even call in reinforcements like in DA:O

Miranda -- Largely forgettable. At least she planted a tracer on Kai Leng

Thane -- He was dieing so he didn't need much. At least he went out with a bang vs. KL. I do wish that it Thane that planted the tracer as that would have made the fight make more sense to me ... YMMV

Jack -- It was nice seeing that she wasn't batcrap crazy and leading the kids was nice. It would have been nicer if she would have provided some Biotic shields / artillery on the Earth levels

Jack, Jack and um.... let me see... JACK. Apart from Shep's magic penis curing her in ME2, I think she was one of the most interesting squadmates in ME2, if not the most interesting LI. Sure she could hardly join Shep in military house arrest, but once she was free from Cerberus troops storming the academy she would have made a great addition to the squad and rounded it out with another biotic and a powerful one at that.

Other than that. Zaead, Samara/Morinth and Grunt (would have settled for Wrex even though I never played ME1. Plus it felt weird with no Krogan team mate).

I'd have mentioned Thane as well, but I fully understand that he was too sick to join (though maybe his son could haver replaced him).

Miranda, Jack, Grunt. Miranda because she was so important, Jack because she deserved a better end to her love plot, and Grunt because I thought Shep was his battlemaster.

If not squad members at least some spots where they're on your ship for a while like Mordin and Wrex.

Kelly Chambers. Why did they have to make her ugly and put her in ugly clothes and give her stupid dialogues about love. And what did you do to TIM!!!

Thane,Legion,Mordin and although i was not a fan of her the first time i played ME2 i would have liked to get to know the 'new and improved' jack a bit better this time around.

I miss all the ME2 squadmates that got sidelined (well, except Jacob). I came to love and care about them more than I ever did for the ME1 squaddies through their various interactions and compelling stories during their loyalty missions. But most of all I miss Miranda, I know she's there in ME3 but like with the others our time together is always fleeting and far too brief.

Kasumi. The two characters whonI hated at the start of Mass Effect 2 the most, but who proceeded to grow on me - Jack and Miri. And Mordin, the Scientist Salarian.
I didn't like Thane in Mass Effect 2 (act nice - ME OR GARRUS PICK NOW OR ELSE!), but he randomly grew on me after tricking me into paying for myself. (Initial reaction - You manipulative b******! Later reaction - Actually, that was kinda sweet. An odd way of showing he cared, but still.)

There was a SERIOUS lack of Krogan on the Normandy.

Jack and Grunt. I probably would trade anyone on the team (aside from Garrus) for either of them.
