Is there any way to do this? I really didn't want to kill him, I even killed every single other enemy in the room first before him and I was hoping that would cause him to try and work things out but instead he just kept attacking... it sucks to kill him, I was hoping I could've used him as a rogue for myself

Yea, I felt bad for Leske too. He did what he had to do to get by while the PC was off being a hero. I found myself wishing I could spare him too.

Yeah, I believe that if they give the option of surrender to the first bandits you fight in the house that you should've been able to spare Leske too. Kind of a raw deal.

Well it seems like he and the carta **** are lovers now, so I guess that makes the answer 'no'.

That's odd, I don't know what you guys mean. I've played through twice and both times leske has been waiting in a prison beggin to be released. I just pop the lock and he high tails it out of there...am I missing something?

leske is going to betray you if you play as a dwarven commoner. I don't know of a way to aviod killing him but that doesn't mean that it doesn't exist.

I just finished that Dwarf Commoner intro and both Leske and Rica (the sister) survived and even congratulated/encouraged the main character to go off with Duncan.
Is there more than 1 character in the game named Leske? The one in the DC intro does not even attack the main character at anytime.

Based on that bio, it seems that he reappears later in the game (I have not done the Ozammar quest yet), and the killing happens then.

This bothered me too. Leske is one of my favourite characters. Also made an appearance in the Gauntlet for me. Having to kill him was nasty,

If you only play the origin story, then you don't kill him. If you are a Dwarf Commoner, you'll run into him again in Orzommar in the main quest. I think it is unavoidable to kill him there. I tried every dialog option.

Yeah, it really bothered me I couldn't talk him down, or get a "Zevran-style" conversation after the fight. I would have let him live. My dwarf commoner understands doing what you feel you have to. (Though really, he should have known I'd win the fight and come over just as a matter of sheer pragmatism.)

This was something that bothered me as well. However, if you do Haven after Orzammar it does make the Gauntlet have a lot more personal impact than some of the other origins get.

i also had to kill Leske in the dwarven commoner scenario but i did choose a "kill anyone working with Jarvia" line in one of the houses. Leske does work for Jarvia so that could have been a trigger...
