Same problem here :( Also have CE (physical) and running Windows 7 x64

I've downloaded other games from Origin with no problems before (Kingdoms of Amalur and ME3 demo) as well as all the ME3 DLC. Just not the game/patch.

Saw another post on the EA forums that had something to do with proxy being enabled in IE causing this issue but I'm not using any proxies either.

It confounds me that EA still hasn't released a manual patch even though there's been people with this issue since day 1 and it has now been over a month since release. Good grief.

Has anyone tried uninstalling the game and reinstalling it? I know it downloads a bunch of patches when it installs, that might get it to capture the patch?

But, I don't want to try that if someone else already has.

Try, exiting everything you're doing(all that is internet connection related that will try to slow your connection) then log in on Origin, then wait for ME3 to stop "Preparing" and "Calculating". Your internet connection should be like a stick-to-one type of person, let your internet connection focus on the ME3 patch.

Additional Info: BTW, ^that trick didn't work on me so...<_< You guys might want to try, with some luck maybe it will help, BUT, I highly doubt that that will help.

How about we send a wizard to fix it ?:wizard: I'm trying not to be pissed here B)

Also, I think it has to do with the Aegis Rifle.

For some reason my Aegis Rifle has no date assigned to it and that download cannot be repaired.

Ok. I tried uninstalling the game and then re-installing through Origin. Now I can't even get even get the game itself to install. I have not re-installed from my disk as I want to see if I can get Origin to eventually download it for me.

Also, has anyone tried asking a CSR for a manual version of the patch, instead of going through Origin?

A CSR on the EA/Help Chat just told me that he took a look at this thread and would send a developer to look at it and see if they could get back to us on it. He also said that there was no way to get the patch out except through Origin.

Omg guys... I managed to patch!

Was just browsing boards and came upon a post made last year about some guys unable to patch BF3 and they tried Hotspot Shield (a VPN program) and they managed to make it work. I'm sick and tired of this problem and pretty much tried everything else so I gave it a go....

And it worked.

It still "prepared" for a while but eventually the installation language dialogue popped up and it started downloading not long after that.

So I'm guessing this problem has to do with your location rather than anything else?

That's really a shame that a old know issue like that was not resolved yet. I am really pissed with so many mistakes in a row =\\

Ramenhime, can you elaborate a bit on hostspot so I can try it?

Thanks.

Here's a link: http://hotspotshield.com/

It's just a VPN program, not really what else to elaborate on... I'm guessing if it's a location issue, then any VPN would work.

Copy the mass effect 3 folder in another place. Uninstall ME3, paste the backup copy and relaunch Origin, it will work.

Thanks to Ramenhime!

I installed the free version of Hostspot and left it running. I then closed Origin and re-opened it and it started downloading the patch. Thanks Ramenhime!

I tried re-installing my copy and it worked.... although, the update started after an hour, it took that long again just to "prepare" it. You guys might want to re-install if Ramenhime's "solution" won't work. You guys could also try cutting the Blue, Red, or the Green wire.

Thank you so much!!!!!!!!!! Ramenhime! YOU have saved me... i have been waiting for months since the damn game out for a solution... and viola! it worked? how i am not sure.. i did a combination of things.. in case someone is wondering.. i know in other posts they said about fixing a .glo file.. so i deleted mine altogether, then another thread said about redist file located in the mass effect 3 folder, deleted that as well and then used the hotspot shield like ramenhime said and boom within minutes it went from preparing to updating it actually thanks again you have no idea how thankful i am. :)
