So when I start up Mass Effect it does the checks, save data and DLC but the DLC check doesn't go away and it loads forever and I can't select anything :(

I used to be able to go into campaign with the notification still up on the screen and quit out then it would work but it's not letting me do that anymore. I need to fix this! please help.

Yeah, screw that. If I have to go through two minutes of waiting to connect to the EA servers SEVERAL TIMES because it looks like the latest patch BROKE THE ****ING GAME, then it's not worth trying. I was excited for the latest DLC, until the game booted me out of wave 10 for the patch, several hours after one of my friends already got it. And EVERY SINGLE TIME I've tried loading up the game it freezes at the main menu while checking the save data.

It looks like the ending wasn't the only thing that wasn't properly tested before it was released.

It must be the patch that has done this because it never happened before.

So I guess we just got to wait for Bioware to fix this then?

I have the same problem, the game says that it checks the DLC, but doesn't do anything and I can't select anything.

This has happened to me for a while, long before the patch!

I want it fixed altogether, but my solution was simple: you can still move the cursor around I found, then simply select LOAD, and the "Checking content" screen goes away.

Just came across the same issue. In the past the 'Checking Downloadable Content' prompt would stay up like it does now, but I could at least still use the menu and play the game. Now I can't do anything but connect to the EA server, for all the good that does me.

Guess it's time to uninstall the patch and still not be able to import characters that I've had since ME1...

I am still perplexed at how they could mess this up. I still really want to love BW, but it's really hard to do so when I can't even play the damn game.

If you delete the N7 Warfare gear, it'll stop freezing, but it will still be stuck, unresponsive, on the second "Checking for DLC" screen forever.

Really wish that, just once, there would an update or addition to ME3 that wouldn't go horribly wrong.

Right now my game has started freezing at the bit where the DLC check initiates. Bioware really need to fix this ASAP, they have made the game unplayable for a lot of people by the looks of it :(

I guess I won't be loading up my game, or getting the patch, until this is fixed.

I am having the same problem. With all the issues I have had with this game I am really starting to wonder why I bother with Bioware games...

I found an (admittedly annoying) fix for this bug, at least for multiplayer people.Singleplayer people are still out of luck.

Ghetto Trick for those having the EA server connection lockup, when it first says its connecting to the EA servers bring up your Xbox guide (Big green X button in the middle of you joystick) and watch the loading icon on the far upper left corner of the ME3 screen once that vanishes you can drop the xbox guide.

5 times game froze up while "connecting to EA servers"

finally got through on the 6th time rebooting my console. combined with the loading screen freezes that happen in the SP campaign, its a little annoying now.

oh... and this latest bug has only been a problem since downloading the patch.

Same for me, now I just can't play it. A patch that essentially makes the game unplayable, not doing much to help yourself Bioware...
