Being hit by harbingers beam, then finding out no matter how many times I tried to reload and dodge it I couldn't - dont get me started on where are my squadmates and the bleeding tunnel.
At what point did you decide you did not like the ending?

As soon as I heard there was a nice old dues ex machina Crucible thats plans conveniently enough located on Mars and would destroy all the Reapers I had some doubts that it would come down to a giant pulse blast to kill them all.
Then when I heard the Citadel could suddenly move and did so off-screen I got even more weary.
Finally during the level itself when I realized my war assets would not be showing up and that instead of having a suicide mission-style final level it was just fighting one wave of enemy after another, I already decided it was disappointing. From that point on it was just even more downhill.

Shortly after I finished the game and I started trying to make sense out of what just happened.
Is this the same game I was playing a minute ago?
How did Anderson get there?
What is the Catalyst on about?
Why does he care what my EMS is?
Where the hell is Joker going?
Why the **** would I want to buy DLC after watching that?

I was a little confused but fine with it up until the space elevator. In my first playthrough I was like: "WTF is his spirit going to heaven or something!?" thanks to the camera angle. From then on it was just unacceptable.

On my second encounter with RGB when I realized that I, in fact, had done everything right. I was actually allright with it on my first play-through, believing I simply picked the wrong ending. Imagine my surprise when all I got for choosing differently essentially was a different color.

The first moment I thought the Ending was sucking was when AI Duct Rat walked up and talked to me. WTF? Why is the Catalyst appearing as that stupid kid in the Ducts at the beginning of the game? That makes no sense.
The second was when it laid out my "Choose A, B or C Ending" choice. WTF? Didn't the game's director say something along the lines of how we wouldn't get that kind of ending?
The third was when I saw Joker abandon me and the battle. WTF? I'm super-Sherpard the total Paragon that every loves and would die for. Joker would NEVER flee!
The fourth was when the two people that were just in London with me stepped out of the crashed Normandy on Pandora. WTF!?!? How the hell did they get there?
The fifth was when the credits rolled and Lead Writer was NOT Drew Karpyshyn. Well, this actually answered a lot of those WTF's. Drew is good writer, and would not have put together such a terrible Ending...
The sixth was the "And buy DLC" window telling me that that was really all there was, that all the WTF parts were not going to be explained in an epilogue where I also got to find out what happened to everyone.

I had managed to stay unspoiled about the ending but knew that a lot of people really disliked it, so I was kind of "apprehensive" throughout the last mission wondering when this Unknown Thing That Pissed People Off was going to happen. To top it off, I missed the visual cues indicating that you had to walk in different directions to get different endings and thought I was supposed to walk into the beam and *then* choose, so I was kind of surprised when suddenly the synthesis ending kicked in (though I was 90% sure I was going to pick that anyway).
So at first it was more a case of "Huh?" than active liking or disliking, then I thought about it some more and read the BSN forums. My disappointment was less about lack of closure for the other characters than about the out-of-nowhere-ness of the whole thing, both in terms of plotting and the themes of the series.

I couldn't stand it the second I finished it. My brother was with me when I beat it, and we just look at each other and let the rage flow!
I got the "best" ending, and thought I messed up. We were even more shocked when I looked up all the endings and found that out.

I was willing to go with the Starchild thing until he "explained" the Reapers. Specifically, 'the created will always rebel against the creators, and this is why we have to turn everyone into soup and put them into giant squid'
Seriously, **** YOU STARCHILD

I did not really like the ending, but I was not expecting the best possible ending since I went in around 2900 EMS (no MP). Just before the unlock of synthesis as it later turned out.
It did not make much sense,. but I figured alot would chance in other endings that I was supposed to get. Then when I came to these boards and got told this was basicly 'it'. At that point I hated the ending. And the problem the ending has is that the more you think about it and analyse it, the more it falls apart.

Watching shep's death and the destruction of the relays. That (and everything after) showed just how bad the ending is. Of course, after playing it once, the scene with godboy is now crap too, cause I know where it leads.

When I could not use my war assets. I was thinking "What is the point of them then?" And truth be told there is no point to the war assets. They could as well just have made the ending all open regardless of your choices. No need for war assets to do what they did.

During the final convorsation with TIM there were two conversation options greyed out. I had been playing a paragon Shep through all 3 games and when i saw that they were both grey I sorta' freaked because that was the first time in the series that I didn't have the paragon option available. Everthing after that was a confusing mess that I thought hinged on that final conversation. So I Googled: Mass Effect 3 Ending, to see if I hit a bug or something. Thats when I realised that the ending was the most epic fail in video game history.

Pretty much when the credits started. Starchild annoyed me, and it made no sense... but just cutting to the credits they way they did, leaving everything ambiguous... yeah that pissed me off. That was made worse by the scene with the Stargazer, which obviously means they were planning on another sequel.
The DLC message was the last nail in the coffin.

Hmm. Honestly, I'd say the dislike didn't set in until after I'd beaten the game completely. Prior to that, I'd felt a definite sense of confusion and unease at the unveiling of synthetic-organic conflict being (supposedly) the main conflict of the series that Shepard was to resolve. Once the game was done and credits began to roll, I alt-tabbed out of Faunts' wonderful music and the usual recognition I like to give all the folks who work on a game to find out that "My ending was one of the weird or bad ones, right?", only to discover that no, it was not. Then the dislike erupted in full force.

I was wary at the beginning of the final mission. Where were my volus fleets, the hanar and drell and batarians? Where were Miranda, Grunt and Jacob? Why couldn't I see my war assets in action? After that, the elevator sent up red flags, and the appearance of Starchild made it worse. Synthesis was probably my breaking point though--if they wanted to reset the Mass Effect universe for future games by destroying the relays, doesn't Green force them into picking a 'canon' choice? Relays can be rebuilt as can the Citadel, and the Reapers can fade into legend no matter what, but it's hard to get around the fact that everyone is now a hybrid. So, if they do have to pick one ending to be canon, why not have more difference in the possible endings? Now I know it's probably a mix of resource problems and artistic vision, but directly after beating the game, nothing seemed to make sense.
The little popup telling us to buy more DLC was the worst part though. Talk about rubbing salt in the wound.
