It's not that I feel they are overused, I think they are great additions to any team.  But to be honest a well placed decoy will stop an army, I just propose the boss makes it so that you must work together a little more (kinda like a banshee) and be a force to be reckoned with, not a "Get over here toss a decoy and nuke it" scenario.

Games are long as it is. I'd prefer to have a boss drop at like wave 10.

The idea is great, as long as we don't use those enemies you mentioned. xD

Otherwise, yes, boss fights do sound like a cool idea. (or make them a randomly occurring rare event?)


I originally thought of the randomly occuring event, kinda like a weekend thing, or even a timed thing, but in the fairness of gameplay everyone should be eligible as long as you try, isn't there enough randomness already =)

Also with the vote to engage it, it makes sense however; if you are playing Gold I don't think there should be an option to run, lets face it its not an option.

 Everyone wants boss waves but the "bosses" you named wouldn't work due to:
A) Illusive man not being a fighter
B) If we kill him in coop then it'll ruine single player cannon
C) Crazy ninja dude is also story cannon so can't face him either ..... Unless he's just a super buff male phantom then what would it be called? Buffed Male Phantom .... Female players would call sexual discrimination >.> Still not work ....

I love this idea. As it stands now, most people, myself included, don't even bother going to Wave 11, they just suicide after the last objective to get the credits. Once you're level 20 there's absolutely no incentive to finish the match. A random boss fight would give a good reason.

I vote for a Reaper. We can only damage it with our nukes while it's aiming its death laser at us, and one hit = executed.

No, I'm not serious, though that would be an epic battle. Even better if it was Harby.

My examples were just that, I was pretty tired when I wrote them tbh.  The bosses don't necessarily need to be story driven but maybe they could be called "Generals" or "Leutenants" or something to that effect as technically we are fighting at the warfronts of each area. It would kind of make sense that there would be some type of leader present or a "Hero" type leading that system or map?

Cerberus -> Gunships supported by guardians and what not that get dropped off
Reapers -> Harvester supported by reaper forces it drops off as it flies around
Geth -> Geth Colossus supported by a squad of 2 primes that re-spawn as they are destroyed

What other bosses can we think of for what side?

I like this idea. Definitely could use use some fine tuning and probably minions who are randomly immune to 1-2 effects. (if you have 1-3 targets with no immunities, focused fire from experienced players would kill them in 10 seconds. I mean warp+throw from 3 AA &10 seconds later the boss goes down while permanently staggered )

Very cool idea. I would add that this should be a silver or/and Gold only feature, as some people on Bronze barely finish matches as is.

When it comes to Reaper bosses, I guess any life form can be "reaperfied" and introduced. Personally I'd love to see what happens when one of those Tuchanka dino-beasts gets turned into a reaper minion.

Cerberus Bosses: Gunships, bigger mechs, maybe an armored vehicle like the mako.

Geth: Armature, colossus, Geth snipers are all great contenders here.

You could have a buffed Harvester for Reapers, or a buffed Praetorian.

Cerberus..Gunships..
Geth..Armature, Colossus.

Enough tough enemies with Armor if you ask me. Biotics and single-shot weapons dominate the MP more than enough.

So, for Reapers, a Harbinger-controlled Husk-type, very tough and fast, dangerous both at range and up-close. Barrier/Health.

For Cerberus, Kai Leng. Basically a Super-Phantom. No cloak, but an impenetrable shield like he uses in the campaign. Sheild/Health For lore reasons, maybe have him just bail out when on low HP rather than die.

For the geth, I don't see much anything else than a Armature. Old news, Shield/Armor, very heavy ranged firepower.

How about we do away with extraction completely and make a wave 12 with ultra ridiculous mobs and said bosses if possible. Make it nigh impossible to complete, but wave 12 is a bonus wave - completing wave 11 is considered a mission "success", wave 12 to get extra credits and experience for as long as you can survive with a constant stream of mobs from all possible spawn points.

Also make it only available on gold. Yes? No? Can this possibly be abused?

Edit: P.S. Also, instead of having comms saying "Head to the LZ for extraction" at wave 11, at the start of wave 12, he says "Enemies approaching. Hold the line!". Then when the team gets pummeled to hell and back the track "An End Once and for All" plays in the background.

i like the idea but an uber phantom its either really easy or really hard....Stasis would own it...i prefer something more dangerous like a Cerberus AI....
