I prefer, a Dreadnought-class Reaper, an ultimate boss level. On Platinum Difficulty. Of course you have a Cain. You have to fight it on a shuttle, evade it's ******* lasers, and MOAR CREDITS if you defeated one.

As long as they aren't major characters in single player like the illusion man or crazy ninja dude, yeah it could work. Don't know how you would fight a reaper though, cos you would need a Cain or a orbital strike with a targeter. Maybe minor characters in the story like the krogan in me2 in grunts mission.

I don't know about a dreadnought class reaper, maybe destroyer class ones cos there are lots of them. And because a Cain is a one hit kill on them, you have like turrets that you have to hot the reaper with and distract it with but also dodge the lasers. Then when it opens to fire the laser you have one Cain missile to kill it with. You miss it your only hope is to kill it with the turrets but it's angrier and fires the lasers quicker. So it requires team work like two on turrets, one watching for the laser and the last guy with the Cain.

ive wanted this for wave 11 since people started complaining about what to do after wave 10. They can just go diablo style or basically and slashing game and just make them elite versions of their predecessors. possibly do some voice-overs when they go down every 25% like boss fights in mmo's.
You dont need original bosses and i think fighting an actual reaper is insane.
just make a boss banshee with even more hp and shields and could talk? or a turian? rachni boss? or an indoctrinated krogan? the possibilities are endless and it sure would be alot more funner than wave 11 extraction even if they gave it credits.

I like the idea and was kind of thinking it myself. Even if it's not a buffed version of an already existing enemy, just bring back an enemy from previous ME games.
Heck, you could even make the bonus/boss round have Collectors. THAT would be interesting.

Great insight on the Collectors, that would really be interesting. Also along some of the insight of replacing the extraction wave, I don't think we necessarily need to replace anything, but an addition to something that is already great, just a little spice in the batter. =)

I think this is a great idea, but not for wave 12. Maybe have wave 11 boss fight, then wave 12 where the remnants try to zerg you before extraction like usual.
That being said, there should be cameo boss fights like the Thorax and Something like 2nd form Saren.

I started this thread a day or two ago, its not to flame other threads or impede on someone elses idea, just something I thought of that would seem to work well with what BioWare has in place already.

Geth Colossus would probably be a better choice for a boss.
As for cerberus, Atlas's are creations based on the YMIR mech so that wouldn't be too different. Now maybe a battle against a tank of some sort would be interesting. MAKO cameo

The fourth could just set there get killed and collect the reward assuming the boss gets killed.

I definitely wouldn't mind some boss fights along the lines of Contra. Or maybe colossal bosses fights where you'd have to attack certain weak spots for it to take damage. This would definitely encourage more team work among players.

Geth would need to bring back the Colossus.
