At the beginning the game would crash every 30 minutes - two hours, often during the loading screens and when you enter a new area ... boring but still playable. Now, JUST AFTER DOWNLOADED THE PATCH the game freeze every 30 seconds - 2 minutes! I can just load the save! I tried to load different characters and saves: do not change anything! I tried to install the disks: do not change anything! I tried to start over the game on other console (slim 120 Gb): do not change anything!
My console (fat 20 Gb) works perfectly, I played a dozen other games for dozens and dozens of hours and i have NEVER had the slightest problem!

Now I can no longer play Mass Effect 3 ... Bioware please answer me as soon as possible because I do not know what to do!

I am having the same problem. Every time I start up Mass Effect the game locks up after about 2 minutes weather it be trying to load single player or accessing the multiplayer servers. Realy frustrating.

It worked for me yesterday. Now, after downloading the patch, it freezes immediately upon reaching the second "Checking for DLC" screen. I managed to discover that deleting the N& Warfare Pack will prevent it from freezing, but it will then sit on the second "Checking for DLC" screen without allowing you to access the main menu, effectively still rendering the game unplayable.

Congrats Bioware on a job well done. <_<

Well, I haven't had it lock up for about 2 hours now. After 30-40 minutes of attempts I am finally able to play. I hope it stays like this.

Bioware please REMOVE all freezes.

On my first play through I got a freeze every 30 minutes, that is not acceptable when it is NOT my console but the game. It broke my immersion near the end of the game.

I don't understand why more people aren't complaining about the initial freezing/locking up of the ME3 360 version before. Now more-so that is freezes every 2-5 minutes.

Ridiculous, especially when this was the lead platform. How lazy did you guys get at Quality Assurance?

A lot of topics has been created about the problem of the freezes after the patch ... is almost certain that there is a correlation between the two things!

So when I go to play ME3 tonight, I should avoid downloading the patch right?

Look around the other topics...and make your choice! I think you can play without the patch as well...

I've been having the problem non-stop since 5:45 AM when it forced me
off Xbox live to download the patch. I have called EA 3 times now with
new info about the way it is failing at the checks. Please call EA at
(866) 543 5435 and give them details on your problems as I have. I will
go through the steps I have done so all of you can try and hope for
better results.

After every step I tried launching Mass Effect 3
to either get stuck in an eternal load loop or to outright freeze right
after the press start screen.
1: Delete system cache (This was done
after every time I started the game since the update has been the
obvious problem I wanted to test this in as many setups as I could.)
2: Delete online pass then re-download.
3: Remove game from HDD.
4: Deleted DLCs. (Both Resurgence and From Ashes.)
5: Tried both discs.
6: Removed profile then downloaded it from Xbox.
7:
Force the Xbox to re-sync to Xbox live by changing the date to
11/15/2005. (You have to be signed out to change the date and time)
8: Installed both discs to my HDD then retried with both discs.
9:
Downloaded the DLCs again then tried with my Ethernet unplugged.
(Worked to play single player but the moment you reconnect to Xbox live
you wither get load locked while connecting to Xbox live or sent to the
game start-up because of the sign-in change that has occurred.)
10: Tested my connection to Battlefield 3, Battlefield: Bad Company 2, and Battlefield 1943. All perfect.
11: Received a new online pass from EA support. Did not solve the issue, just started freezing at a different screen.
12: Contemplated the fun of hitting something with a crowbar but then realized I didn't feel like going outside quite yet.
13: Glared at my frozen Xbox hoping it could sense my disappointment of the update.
14: Ate an ice cream sandwich and came to the forums to report the fun I have been having since 5:45 AM CST.

So
the last 3 we're not anything technical but they did make me ok with
the situation for the time. Just remember folks. This is not an issue
with connecting to EA servers. This issue with the with the checks the
game does of your EA server connection, downloaded content, save games,
then EA server connection again. I have had it actually connect to EA
so I could see my Galaxy at war readiness but had a load loop of
"Checking downloadable content" overlaying my "Resume game; New game;
Load game; Multiplayer; Download Content" menu list so I was unable to
hit anything besides my Microsoft button and inevitably, dashboard.

NOTE: While I do seem to be a very unlucky person most people on my friends list by sheer repetition are able to eventually get past these checks and log on to play both Singleplayer or Multiplayer so keep giving it a try. I hope at some point I can get to play my Geth Hunter some more.

Has anyone else had the game load textures slowly than have the sound cut out leading to a hard freeze after landing on Mars? It worked fine on my first playthrough but now I can't get passed it. Before and after the newest patch.

Back to freezing every time it tries to connect to the EA servers. Tired of going back to the Dashboard especially with that ugly Nikki Minaj being advertised all over the place.

After the patch, the game freezes at the start screen when it tries to connect to the EA servers.

Completely unable to run the game and I have to hard-reboot my Xbox.

That's four times in a row it's frozen my Xbox while trying to connect to the EA servers now. Still have to hard-reboot the Xbox, which risks damaging it.

This is an Epic Fail.

Yep. I have the same problem. Freezes shortly after it says 'Connecting to EA Servers'.

I've tried both discs: no difference.

This is happening to me too, freezing in the same place.  Can't play at all.

Okay, everyone, I found a trick to keeping the XBox from freezing.

When you hit "Start" and it starts trying to connect to EA servers on the start screen, hit the Power button on your controller to bring up your XBox Guide. Keep it on until you see the start menu load.

That seems to do the trick. No more freezing XBox.

Unless Bioware's tech wizards have managed to fix things on the server end.
