What was your experience? Do you see my confusion ar em I being.. a little delusional as always? :)

Comparing a major unkillable character like Liara to anyone else doesn't make any sense. Liara has the most content overall, shouldn't be a big surprise after LotSB.

But what was interesting was comparing Ashley vs. Kaidan. I had the feeling that Kaidan had much more interaction overall.
I never saw Ashley leaving her quarter, but Kaidan had banters with Vega and Adams.

Very weird, maybe I have to do another playthrough and check on Ashley again.

So the question is: Does Ashley ever leave her room or talk to other Squadis like Kaidan?

Btw:

DAMMIT, NO! I DIDNT! When and where do
you see her on Citadel? Is it time sensitive? Like, after some mission
she gone? Coz sometimes I did 2-3 in a succesion before returning to
Citadel.

You can talk to her after Thessia, for extra dialogue if you want.

kumquats: no. Ashley is stuck on her observatory deck.

I heard Kaidan mentions at least once he lives with fem!Shep / male!Shep in the loft if romanced. Ashley doesn't give such hint - actually, it feels as if she's living on the observatory deck and never moved in Shepard's cabin if romanced. There -WAS- such dialogue in the leaked script, but it got cu / dummied out in the final release.

Ashley's character is reduced to her romance, her sister and Cerberus drama.
That's all what's left of her - disappointing after ME1.

Then I think it's safe to say that Ashley got cut. Pretty stupid.
I love walking around the Normandy and see how the Squadis talk to each other. Replacing Ashley with Kaidan means, you miss all the banter. >.<

I agree that comparing any of the squadmates to Liara is not a very fair comparison because the writers decided to make her unkillable in the prior games so she is the only squadmate each Shepard is guaranteed to have on board other than the new ones, especially since you don't even have to bring the VS on board after the coup or can even kill them during the coup.

The best comparison for Ash is to compare her to Kaidan since they would have fairly similar storyline structures and should logically have the same amount of interactions with Shepard and the crew. Unfortunately, Kaidan is far better integrated and written than Ashley is in ME3. Kaidan talks to the crew more, (he even plays poker with James and someone else). he wanders around the ship talking to other people,  Ash pretty much never leaves the observation deck and it's sad that one of my favorite squadmates is so dull and boring in ME3. After 3 games with Ash and 1 Kaidan, Kaidan was used far better in 3 than Ash was.

I just post my line here I just sent two friends via PM:

Ashley died for me somewhere between Mars and Udina's Coup. She never left the hospital. And the more I think about it, the angrier I get.

Rest in peace, Ashley Williams ...

With that knowledge, I fear my Shepard did a husk before the finale. That's all what's left of her. An empty shell ...

Same here. After her absence in ME2, i patiently waited for ME3 so i can reunite with Ashley, and i was really looking forward to my romance with her. But i was really bummed out that she didn't have much to do in the game. There was even that deleted scene with her talking about Shepard's death in ME2. Why would they take that out?

You know what makes this worse? As soon as Ashley got back on the ship I kept going back to the observation room to see what she had to say and it was all unsatisfying. Ashley would probably be better served off the Normandy. I should have expected it considering the job done on her in ME2 and her writer leaving Bioware, but I held out hope that there'd be something good. I mean, she and Kaidan were spared a possible death in ME2 for reprisals in ME3 and this is what we got?

I wanted to run a male Shepard that romanced her through ME3, but I can't bring myself to do it. If I force myself, I'll just abandon it wholesale (not that I'm playing much of it now).
