It depends on a lot of factors.

The base cover penetration for each gun:

BW: 0.25m
W: 0.5m
J: 1.0m

The cover penetration from LV armor piercing mod: 1.25m

And the cover penetration from L3 AP ammo: 0.7m (I think, I might be wrong on that)

They all stack additively, so a cover penetration build on a javelin can blast through a whopping 3m of cover, which lets you shoot through almost anything you could ever want or need to.  I don't have either the javelin or the geth infiltrator, but I imagine it's very useful in this role with the hunter vision allowing you to essentially engage through cover and never expose yourself to the enemy line of sight.  It's more or less the opposite playstyle of the salarian, as the combination of energy drain and quick scoped BW or widow is a much more in your face direct approach to sniping.

it's weird. it seems like theres a vaccum with two paper thin walls in between that space. i've been able to shoot through floors, rocks, and other stuff. you just have to experiment. geth infil is pretty much the best character for pure sniping and if you have a decently leveled black widow its amazing. pushing 180-200k+ scores with decent players in lobby when with SI i would average 120k usually.

On the side, screw the javelin. Take a kishock. At least for gold. that badboy ignores shiled damage gate, so you can basicly one-shot everything that's not a prime. At it have a rapid reload. And alot of spare ammo.

On the other hand, the Kishock has a ballistic projectile (bullet drop) and can't pierce walls or cover no matter what mods you equip it with.  Ignoring the shield gate is nice, but there are definite drawbacks to the gun - considering the lack of cover penetration, it might be more at home on a SI, but there you run into the problem of already having an answer to the shield gate in the form of Energy Drain.  Kishock is kind of an odd duck.

This is honestly the best use of Geth Infiltrator.

Second best is turning on his wallh4x and killing everything through the wall.

to be fair, i just tried BW on a geth infiltrator spec all damage, with accuracy and firing rate. Both of these have VERY noticeable effects on the BW (like, really, now 3 shots under cloak are 100% certainty). Accuracy is great too because my screen shakes less with each shot, easier to reaim within shots. Does more damage and faster than the SI, but of course is much more paper and dies really really easily. Really good with decoy camping, against cerb i'd prob take SI though.

Thanks to you and the poster above. That's some interesting info. I only wish my BW and Javelin were actually higher than level 1. I have a Widow X, but the shield gate makes it a little less awesome for me unless I'm on my SI. Just unlocked GI today, and have been having fun with using a Claymore on it, but I hope to one day get a strong enough Javelin or BW to make a build around those.

The Javelin gets lighter and gets more shots the higher the level (along with more damage and others). I think that recharge speed will be close to 0 once lv 10.

Preliminary calculations seem to indicate Geth Infiltrator is capable to drop gold atlas in 3 cloak cycles using BW X .. (4 cloak cycles with Javelin X) ...

There is no armor damage bonus, only 100% damage through cover iirc.

Ummmm Javelin is waaaay better than any other sniper for Gold.

The Black Widow and Valiant are pointless when they cannot shoot the phantoms through cover and still do full damage.

If the RoF bothers you that much, do the reload glitch and do 1 shot every second.

When spec'd correctly you can body shot all infantry units WITHOUT cloaking. Sorry, Valiant and Black Widow cannot do that.

so far the Black Widow has proven more useful on gold...The number of enemies as well as the tougher shields an armor make the Javelin a slow firing weapon...

on Silver, the Javelin shines, you can one shot Ravagers with it.

Yes it does, but only 0.25m with reduced damage. Meaning you can only shoot through guardian shields, and very thin cover.

The Javelin has 1m with 100% damage. Meaning I can shoot through almost any wall, and with pierce mod, every wall that isn't the Great Wall of China.

And if the BW X can do that, I can imagine the Javelin X would 3 shot an Atlas.

Lots of sniper infiltrators here. I always do better playing shotty infiltrators. It's not like the GPS lacks range.

Funny.... if you are good at reload glitching with the Javelin you get to shoot just very slightly slower than the BW.
So I don't see how that works out.

It apparently does reduced damage, because you can 1 shot a guy out of cover, but he will be left with 1 bar left if shot through cover...
