Yes it does, but only 0.25m with reduced damage. Meaning you can only shoot through guardian shields, and very thin cover.

The Javelin has 1m with 100% damage. Meaning I can shoot through almost any wall, and with pierce mod, every wall that isn't the Great Wall of China.

And if the BW X can do that, I can imagine the Javelin X would 3 shot an Atlas.

This is speculation and obviously hasn't been followed up with testing.  If you ever used a BW on gold with an AP mod you'd know that you can shoot through all light cover and most heavy cover and still 2 shot phantoms.   And a Javelin II only does 2-3 bars of armor damage on an Atlas with a GI fully specced for sniper damage, while cloaked and in hunter mode.  Even with the dubious geth weapon bonus, I can take one out faster with a BW.

So I don't see how that works out.

It apparently does reduced damage, because you can 1 shot a guy out of cover, but he will be left with 1 bar left if shot through cover...

Do keep in mind that if you do this, only 1/3 of the shots you put out will be cloaked. Compared to 100% 3/3 for the BW.

But the Javelin has a horrible scope.

So that's why I just use other weapons. Although some may like it..I just find it hard to use.

I love my geth infiltrator + valiant. All skills to damage bonus, 0 proximity mine (which I've always disliked), and heavy melee burst in a pickle. Amazing death dealer, and having the quick firing valiant allows you to open up those shield gates in a hurry on gold. Just gotta play smart and careful.

it does not have a horrible scope, and it just takes some time and practice to be used. The Javelin gives you 0.25 seconds of time to move your scope before you shoot, making mistakes and missing less common, but of cource, you will need to be good at aiming too

the ONLY downside of Javelin is, scarce ammo. You only get 8 shots on level 1 with no attachments

Update: do not use enhansed scope with Javelin. Removes ability to see through walls, but still only highlights ppl behind smoke.

Geth Infiltrator is probably my favorite class, I just max Hunter mode, cloak, and the passives and go to town. I like the Javelin but mine is only level 1 and...6 shots without the ammo upgrade is just too few. I've been using one with the Geth Shotgun and have had very good success with it. I've been meaning to try a Striker since I've heard it doesn't break cloak if you cloak after holding down the trigger.

I prefer run with a shotgun build when I use my Geth Infiltrator. Great damage and mobility with hunter mode, especially with the GPS. Only time I have trouble is when cloak wants to act up.

Stop comparing the Javelin with the Black Widow. They are completely different weapons. Compare Javelin with widow and compare Valiant with B widow.

umm dps and damage are 2 different things entirely. dps is damage per second, although yes they would have some of the highest but not neccesarily THE highest.

I definitely like the geth infiltrator with a valiant or geth shotty.

For straight up sniping I prefer my salarian though and for shotgun my human.
