*Temporary multiplayer fix for patch-related crashes*

After messing with my Xbox for half an hour and putting up with dozens of freezes, I discovered a way for people who are affected by the freezes, crashes, and other problems associated with Patch 2 to play multiplayer.

Here's how it works:
1)Go to the Xbox Dashboard. Access your main storage device.
2) Delete the N7 Warfare pack. (This DLC seems to cause the game to freeze immediately after reaching the main menu after the patch is downloaded).
3)Move all of your save files for singleplayer to a secondary storage device such as a flashdrive or memory card.
4)Disconnect the secondary storage device from your Xbox.
5)Start up ME3.
6)The main menu screen should now appear, and the left-hand menu should be accessible with the options "New Game", "Multiplayer", and "Extras". (NOTE: If you have auto-sign-in to EA Servers enabled, the game might freeze at this point, making my solution inapplicable.)
7)Click on "New Game".
8)Select "Import ME2 character".
9)Exit the "Import ME2 Character Screen". Return to the main menu.
10)Click Multiplayer. Game should successfully connect itself to EA servers at this point and launch multiplayer.

If this doesn't work, try clearing your cache, then attempting steps 5-10 again.

Keep in mind that, as of yet,  have no solution enabling single-player, so I apologize to the people who are frustrated about that.

Also, if anyone can refine this fix or find a better, less annoying one, please let me know and post it in this thread.

I just use the other disk and it works fine mate. Its all good if you only want to play multiplayer but single player is screwed. My disk one freezes every time i play the game but disk 2 is allowing me to play multiplayer with no problems.

I tried disc 2, but after sitting at "Connecting to EA Servers" for a few minutes it froze too. But I deleted the N7 Warfare add-on and it seems to work now.

Both my disks were freezing initially, not allowing me to play anything at all. I haven't tested the second disk after deleting the N7 Warfare pack to fix the freezing issue, however. I'll give that a shot next, see if it helps eliminate any of the steps I outlined earlier.

Thanks for the info.

Hmm. What disk were you using and what other DLCs do you have installed?

Edited my above post. Tried just using disc 2 first and it still froze. Then I went and deleted the N7 Warfare add-on and it appears to be working now.

I've been having the problem non-stop since 5:45 AM when it forced me
off Xbox live to download the patch. I have called EA 3 times now with
new info about the way it is failing at the checks. Please call EA at
(866) 543 5435 and give them details on your problems as I have. I will
go through the steps I have done so all of you can try and hope for
better results.

After every step I tried launching Mass Effect 3
to either get stuck in an eternal load loop or to outright freeze right
after the press start screen.
1: Delete system cache (This was done
after every time I started the game since the update has been the
obvious problem I wanted to test this in as many setups as I could.)
2: Delete online pass then re-download.
3: Remove game from HDD.
4: Deleted DLCs. (Both Resurgence and From Ashes.)
5: Tried both discs.
6: Removed profile then downloaded it from Xbox.
7:
Force the Xbox to re-sync to Xbox live by changing the date to
11/15/2005. (You have to be signed out to change the date and time)
8: Installed both discs to my HDD then retried with both discs.
9:
Downloaded the DLCs again then tried with my Ethernet unplugged.
(Worked to play single player but the moment you reconnect to Xbox live
you wither get load locked while connecting to Xbox live or sent to the
game start-up because of the sign-in change that has occurred.)
10: Tested my connection to Battlefield 3, Battlefield: Bad Company 2, and Battlefield 1943. All perfect.
11: Received a new online pass from EA support. Did not solve the issue, just started freezing at a different screen.
12: Contemplated the fun of hitting something with a crowbar but then realized I didn't feel like going outside quite yet.
13: Glared at my frozen Xbox hoping it could sense my disappointment of the update.
14: Ate an ice cream sandwich and came to the forums to report the fun I have been having since 5:45 AM CST.

So
the last 3 we're not anything technical but they did make me ok with
the situation for the time. Just remember folks. This is not an issue
with connecting to EA servers. This issue with the with the checks the
game does of your EA server connection, downloaded content, save games,
then EA server connection again. I have had it actually connect to EA
so I could see my Galaxy at war readiness but had a load loop of
"Checking downloadable content" overlaying my "Resume game; New game;
Load game; Multiplayer; Download Content" menu list so I was unable to
hit anything besides my Microsoft button and inevitably, dashboard.

NOTE: While I do seem to be a very unlucky person most people on my friends list by sheer repetition are able to eventually get past these checks and log on to play both Singleplayer or Multiplayer so keep giving it a try. I hope at some point I can get to play my Geth Hunter some more.

I just managed to get in using another workaround.

1. Yank the network cable while on the dashboard/while the xbox is turned off.
2. Start ME3.
3. Press Start to access the main menu.
4. Experience the joy of offline mode and no crashes.
5. Plug the network cable back in when you can move your cursor on the menu.
6. Hit the Xbox Guide Button, connect to xbox live and then leave the guide screen.
7. Your xbox should - hopefully - not crash this time as it connects to EA's server.

Worked for me! Now I'm off to see if the game will randomly crash every few minutes in multiplayer like some people are reporting x_x

Attempting to manually connect to EA servers after starting the game in offline mode freezes the game on my console.

Is the N7 Warfare pack the "From Ashes" add-on?  I do not see the "N7 Warfare" addon in either my hard drive or the marketplace.  Am I missing something here?

I do not have an "N7 Warfare Pack". How, exactly, am I to delete data that I do not possess?

Dear Bioware. Fire your coders. Employ monkeys college grads. Enjoy stock price sky rocket.

Edit: Meant to write college grads. Monkeys would still work though.

I believe it was some bonus content that came with the Collector's edition.  Gun pack, I think.

It's the pre-order bonus if you bought ME3 from Gamestop of one of its affiliates. If you don't have it, just skip that part. You could also try KiddDaBeauty's suggestion a few posts up.

If neither of those work, however, then I don't know what to do.

I think the N7 warfare pack comes with the CE.  I bought mine, and you get a code to download it.  Includes 4 N7 weapons like the HURRICANE, VALIANT, EAGLE, and CRUSADER.  Also the N7 hoodie and stupid mech dog.
