Just downloaded the 4MB update for XBOX and now as soon as i enter ME3 i get to the main menu and as soon as it says "connecting to EA servers" my xbox crashes and i have to turn it off and on again.  Ive tried clearing the cache and all this acheives is making me download the update again and the same thing happens.  The only way around this is to use the other disc and the game now works but as soon as it tells me to enter the other disk in singe player i crash again.

Yep its not good considering this is only a buff to one skill for one character on multiplayer and now we cant play the game anymore. Very poor.

Ditto. I do get past the DLC check but right after that I crash and can only reboot my system. (example: If I'm in a party chat the chat is over in mid sentence.)

same here, if i clear the update and go in on single player only I have lost the resume option and all my stats have reset.

Was half-way through my insanity run and had over 4000 kills. Not happy.

yep, XBOX is freezing soon as it tries to connect to EA. Funny how that works. This is getting ridiculous.

I havnt dared look at my single player and im half way thru on insane so ill be furious if thats reset! But if you want to play multiplayer just use the other disk and it works fine. I did the patch using disk one and disk one alway freezes now on starting the game but disk two lets me get on multiplayer no problems.

Coming from the company who provided the artistic ending of ME3, I'm not much surprised. Random thought though...do you think it would matter "where" the saved game files are: Cloud vs. local HDD?

I cannot fathom how and why this work...  but it does.

I tried this, but after sitting at "Connecting to EA Servers" for a few minutes it froze too.

After two freeze/restart cycles, it's fine for me now.

Yep just did the update and everything has frozen
When can we expect an answer to this problem from BioWare/EA?
More to the point, by that time, will I even care any more?

I cleared the cache, was disconnected from XBox live because I didn't want the update, but I have managed to get my game back as I left it yesterday!  So now I just can't connect to XBOx live any more until the patch is patched?

This issue appears to be based on which disc you used to start the game when the update appeared.  I've been using disc two as a result of the part of the story I'm on currently, and at downloading the patch the update is now freezing the main menu in exactly the same place as you guys.

Disc one is working fine - testable to 4 attempts on both discs, interchanging with a restart at each success/failure.

Have now cleared cache, started with disc one and updated there.  Disc one is freezing now and disc two is working fine - tested to 4 attempts on both again.

This comes as a bit of a surprise as patches aren't allowed to be released into the wild unless MS tests them as well. While this is in no way acceptable, this isn't just down to BiowEAre - there are at least two (probably three) sets of testers who missed this one.

Have tried several times with both discs, uninstalling and reinstalling.  It's always either a crash or forever trying to connect.

It is not just a disc issue.

I confirm the problem. I tried to join multiplayer since yesterday I finished the insanity story. 4MB download, "Connecting to EA", Xbox freezes. Tried with both DVDs, none working.

I'm playing with the italian version, if it has anything to do with the problem.

Guys, I tried this method and it worked fine for me. Just requires another non-linked account. I used the spare one I use for co-op games which don't allow multiple players on the same account name, without gold or anything.

And I confirm it's working with last patch and N7 Warfare Pack installed. Although it's quite a nuissance...

Add me to the ever growing list. Makes me wonder whether developers even bother to test stuff these days. It's getting to the point where we need a patch to patch a patch.
