Genuine Question:

So, um, what happens if you choose control or synthesis according to IT?

... Surely Shepard would still wake up on Earth, even if he was now indoctrinated. It would be hella pointless indoctrinating Shepard just to control his dream whilst he lies unconscious in the ruins of London.

I don't like the indoctrination theory.

It's imaginative but the idea that "That whole sequence never happened and you're still on Earth while the Reapers kill everybody" is a lame ending, if an ending at all.

Just seems to be grasping at straws to replace a bad ending with a slightly less bad ending. At the end of the day it's still a bad ending, just pick which one has plot-holes that you care the least about.

Cliffhanger, "The Grey" ended the same way more or less.

He would wake up with a new insight on how he "thinks he can save everyone" similar to Saren and TIM.

omg how can a human being (normal, huskified, biotic, half reaper) turn into professor X and control 2 other humans. It makes absolutely to sense. What implants do this?
TIM was just trying to control the reapers...because something does control them. vendetta said so.
Even if you think shep is awake in the TIM confrontation .. there is something fishy going on. An implant intended to control reapers will not control normal humans.

EDI has reaper tech in her and one can assume TIm moved that same tech onto shep as well. Being that Tim servived a husk beacon he decided he could control shep mentally and that could be one reason he decided not to include the control chip unless tim was lying and he did have Wilson implant the control chip into shep and then lied to Miranda and shep so he would be none the wiser because you can't change your behavior if you don't know anything is wrong.

The point of that scene is to decide if you're going to wake up with the intent on using the crucible in a certain way, your LI or someone could break you from it to still get the good ending.. OOPS, said to much.

But you can't 'break' from it in the manner the theory requires. The changes made by indoctrination are permanent (unless you have a Thorian lying around). Any control the Reapers have over Shepard can simply be exerted again, ensuring he never reaches the Citadel.

Rana Thanoptis

But, that's the point, the sequence is the last "ATTEMPT", you only become indoctrinated if you, align your motives with the reapers.

Your motives have nothing to do with how easily you're indoctrinated. Saren was trying to save organics, and TIM was trying to control the Reapers. These motives go against the Reapers' own motives, and yet they become indoctrinated.

Indoctrination is signals and electromagnetic fields. An EM field doesn't become more effective if you agree with the motives of the thing generating the signals.

Rana Thanoptis was just trying to cure the genophage. Had no more exposure, AFAIK, and still was a sleeper agent.

Rana Thanoptis was studying indoctrination, using subjects

basically TIM turns into professor Xavier. And can control any normal human mind...for some reason, even though he was just trying to control reapers.
Then you need a magneto helmet to resist it. It makes perfect sense. Much better then that 'indoctrination theory'. What does IT think its doing....filling in all the plot holes.

Ending the conclusion of a triology on a "cliffhanger" that doesn't even have drama is a terrible ending. May as well just stop in mid sent

Forum ToS give BioWare control over all user-generated content. That means every idea you put in a post now belogns to them. Hell, once a week you get a reminder about the ToS. No threat of lawsuit. You agreed they get control of the idea.

It's more about this very debate really, It took Ridley Scott like 20 years to reveal that Deckard was a replicant...

yes, that makes perfect sense. Miranda wanted to put the chip in...but TIM double bluffed everyone, and got wilson to do it. The same guy that betrayed cerberus.
And the writers went to the trouble to have miranda bring it up again in me3 to say that she wanted the chip in there but it isn't.
Then the writer went to the trouble to get Dr. Chakwas to examine your implants and say your are completely yourself. I found it weird and out of place for this examination considering if she was going to do it she would of done it in me2.
So they went through all that trouble to show you you were in control and couldnt be influenced by any chip or tech. But TIM did it anyway. so much sense
awesome triple bluff

What happens is you create a massive s**tstorm where all the once-happy fans who liked their green/blue ending suddenly get told "Hah, you fell for it"

So yeah, not going to happen.

No, all endings will be legit, blue: you control reapers, green: synthesis, red: destroy synthetics, Golden:Shep wakes up from indoc, destroys only reapers, and saves everyone.

Benezia, Shiala, Saren, TIM, Rana Thanoptis, crazy Salerians on Virmire and, Hanar diplomat are all first had examples of those who are fighting/were indoctrination. How many are still alive? How many shot themselves?

By the time someone is fighting indoctrination it is already too late and the only example of someone keeping sane in the fight is Shiala and that is only thanks to the Thorian.

The IM was not indoctrinated before ME2, just played through that game and all the dialogue and mission reports that he has clearly states that he wanted to fight the reapers at first. So indoctrination happened between ME2 and ME3, which is why there is a sudden change in his beliefs that controling them is the best option.

it would of been cool if your standing at the control panel with garrus.. indoc finally takes over...you have to shoot yourself. Garrus completes the mission
