Wow! This thread proves people will complain about anything. The ability is fine, its not handicapped, you are.
There's really no polite way to put this.....
You're wrong.
The brightness and motion blur of Hunter Mode screws with the eyes in much the same way prolonged use of anaglyph 3D glasses or playing a Virtual Boy, or using a 3DS. The human eye is not intended to stare directly at that sort of nonsense for a protracted period. If I had eye troubles, I would not be in the slightest bit surprised if using Hunter Mode made them worse.
To give a good example of this, let me give a story dating back to the early days of the tubernets.
A long time ago, a friend of mine sent me a ROM hack of Mario Brothers 2 called "Disco Mario" After running the ROM, this was the nonsense that greeted me:
The entire sky backdrop of every goddamned stage was like this. I tried playing through it anyway, and I had to stop because.... Well, fricking look at it. Could you play for a protracted period with that nonsense going on? If you're like most people, then the answer is a resounding "no."
No one is asking to remove the Hunter Mode HUD entirely. What people are asking is that they tone down the brightness slightly, which shouldn't be a tall order. This should not be hard to fix, especially since the PC players already have the ability to remove the filter entirely via mods. Surely, toning down the blaringly bright colors should not be controversial.
Shame on the devs for taking the "not our problem" approach on this one. That's really not a good thing to tell a sizable shred of your playerbase who won't use the Geth classes because ti makes them dizzy or provokes migraines. Playing a game shouldn't involve causing physical goddamned pain.
And double shame on the people on BSN who apply blame on people who take offense at the problems brought about by hunter mode, and revealing themselves to be callous jackanapes. There is right and wrong on this issue, and those who are saying "STFU it's not a problem" are, unequivocally, and irrefutably wrong.
