I think a lot of the community including me thinks that hunter mode effects really hurt the eyes . If you agree just post a answer, and I hope BioWare will spot this and fix it. :)

Wow! This thread proves people will complain about anything. The ability is fine, its not handicapped, you are.

There's really no polite way to put this.....

You're wrong.

The brightness and motion blur of Hunter Mode screws with the eyes in much the same way prolonged use of anaglyph 3D glasses or playing a Virtual Boy, or using a 3DS. The human eye is not intended to stare directly at that sort of nonsense for a protracted period. If I had eye troubles, I would not be in the slightest bit surprised if using Hunter Mode made them worse.

To give a good example of this, let me give a story dating back to the early days of the tubernets.

A long time ago, a friend of mine sent me a ROM hack of Mario Brothers 2 called "Disco Mario" After running the ROM, this was the nonsense that greeted me:

Posted Image

The entire sky backdrop of every goddamned stage was like this. I tried playing through it anyway, and I had to stop because.... Well, fricking look at it. Could you play for a protracted period with that nonsense going on? If you're like most people, then the answer is a resounding "no."

No one is asking to remove the Hunter Mode HUD entirely. What people are asking is that they tone down the brightness slightly, which shouldn't be a tall order. This should not be hard to fix, especially since the PC players already have the ability to remove the filter entirely via mods. Surely, toning down the blaringly bright colors should not be controversial.

Shame on the devs for taking the "not our problem" approach on this one. That's really not a good thing to tell a sizable shred of your playerbase who won't use the Geth classes because ti makes them dizzy or provokes migraines. Playing a game shouldn't involve causing physical goddamned pain.

And double shame on the people on BSN who apply blame on people who take offense at the problems brought about by hunter mode, and revealing themselves to be callous jackanapes. There is right and wrong on this issue, and those who are saying "STFU it's not a problem" are, unequivocally, and irrefutably wrong.

If it hurts ,it could be that the brightness setting is too high.

I agree. Its a shame such a great ability is handicapped like this. It can really damage your eyes also.

I second this, but it will probably get nerfed/buffed a dozen times before any actual glitches are fixed.

Doesn't hurt my eyes, but it's definitely not pleasant.

They could remove the blur effect and just keep the aim reticle & the symbols on the side.

Signed. Hopefully Bryan is reading the forums and catches this thread (provided people keep it active) and he'll pass on the information.

I think the problem is that it applies a blur effect to the edges *cough* 75% of the screen *cough*. Remove blur effect, or reduce it, reduce brightness, and remove some of those pointless triangles that appear.

I second this, just make Ennemies red through walls like blue teammates so you know it's on and remove all the other effects.

The overlay is a bit extreme and it does get hard to see the non-zoomed crosshair in that non-perfect triangle. You can't even aim to the center of the big triangle as it's just an equilateral with the base being smaller.

I am not that bad with the blur effect, I play krogan a lot. I just turn the brightness down, but the split screen from the Hunter mode really gives me the headache... Keep the symbols and the little blur but not split screen please.

Headaches, and also it makes seeing objective markers tough since they are blue to begin with.

I agree, played for a few hours as a Geth Engineer last night, had to stop early, I hope BioWare listens, its not just people whining about yet another thing, it causes serious eye strain after awhile.

It doesn't bother me, but if it's bothering so many people, it should be changed imo.

It's an eye murderer. For me, even after tweaking the brightness settings I am unable to play geth with those mode. And geth without the hunter mode bonuses doesn't make sense. They should definately implement at least an option to turn it off.

I don't see any issue personally.

I feel Rage is way worse on some maps, but I can play with HM on all game.

Well, I saw a video of it on youtube, it actually looks awesome, I could see how it would strain someone's eyes though, I don't think I'll have a problem with it.

Feature is highly disorienting. Makes Krogan Rage look like some sort of display optimization.

Doesn't bother me much, but if it would be lessened slightly so I could at least see the objective markers that would be appreciated.

I find it unpleasant to play with for long periods of time.
