What gets me is that it's supposed to give "unsurpassed understanding of the battlefield". Not entirely sure how all that mess is supposed to give me a clearer picture. Not even sure why the geth would need them...

I like hunter mode visual but it's simply too bright and does bother my eyes. Need to turn down gamma when using it which means then when I'm not the gamma is all outta whack.

By darkening the screen and taking frequent breaks, it becomes slightly more tolerable, but seriously, BioWare needs to do something about this, I doubt its good for any long period of time for your eyes.

Keep the thread alive, we need Bryan or someone else to spot this...

That's a poor 'fix' for this issue. To manually have to adjust your screen is a sign something is horribly wrong here.

I must be lucky as it doesn't affect me at all.

Feel sorry for you guys, do you turn it off at the end of each wave to give your eyes a break and switch back on at the beginning of the next?!?

I've had to start doing that, yeah. Adjusting brightness doesn't help, the bright glare is still there, it just puts everyone else in shadow.

I'm sorry but I have to politely disagree with the original post.  This is a reasonable a trade-off for hunter mode.  Besides, it doesn't HAVE to be on at all times, only for the more hairy situations.

I don't get migraines from it, but I wouldn't exactly call it it a beautiful screen effect that I could look at all day.  When I turn it off every now and then, I can sorta feel my eyes saying thank you.

When I play the Infiltrator I always have it on, I like what it does, the movement bonus, accuracy, etc. I feel weird when it's NOT on...

I also have a pair of gunnars, I play for extended periods (5 hours, is that extended?) and I like how my eyes feel afterwards...

Are you implying that physical discomfort is an effect intended by the devs in order to balance this ability?

Furthermore, are you not aware that using this ability comes at the expense of 50% less shields?  Is that not balance enough for you?

Yes. It doesn't help. At all. It actually makes things worse, like looking into a flashlight before heading into a dark room.

...It makes situations hairier when I cannot see what is happening and are suddenly more fragile, actually! And
physical pain in real life is not a reasonable trade-off for anything. Just because you don't have a problem... doesn't mean other people don't have a problem. I've had to spec out of it altogether just to save my eyeballs.

Prox mines, buggy as they are, at least don't leap out of the screen and punch me in the retinas, I suppose. Though that would be funny.

I do photo and some video work on my home computer, as such, I have a rather expensive display calibration hardware/software combo loaded on it.
I'm going to have to redouble my efforts to acquire a Geth character in order to test this out on a system where people can't blame your display calibration.

Doesn;t really hurt my eyes all that much, but it makes seeing objective markers a Pain, since it feel like the "highlight" effect from huntermode makes it the same blueish color of the markers.

i dont mind it, has to be some minor drawbacks for what you get in return, only thing i find confusing, is the hack/kill objective reticules arent visible enough, being bright blue on erm the hunter modes bright display with symbols all over the place, same issue trying to look around for a fallen teammate.

would be handy if the reticules glowed dark to bright when in hunter mode to make them stand out a bit better.
