I agree on this. The visual effect should be modified.

Genuine question - what exactly about that skill causes headaches and soreness of the eyes? I'll admit to find them obstructive and I feel my effective field of vision narrows significantly, and that not being able to tell cloaked from uncloaked enemies confuses me and had messed up my kill-priorities sometimes, but other than that it's been all good. I play on a pc by the way, maybe there's a difference between platforms?

I am on Xbox and it has no effect at all on my eyes. Just think some people have weaker eyes/minds that struggle/can't process the change that occurs when switching into this mode.

It has nothing to do with "not being able to proccess", just how your eyes are built. Some eyes can take more strain than others

Also if you're prone to getting headaches/migraines.

For example, I'l get a migraine if I don't get enough sleep, am stressed out for prolonged periods, don't eat enough, etc.
And once you have even a small migraine, any loud noise/bright lights will make it that much worse

I have a theory that it's the "double vision" effect that causes it for a lot of people. Like trying to watch a 3D movie without the glasses...or for some people, just watching a 3D movie at all. The eyes are trying to focus something that can't get in focus, hence the soreness and headaches.

It doesn't give me any headaches. But that high brightness of the symbols during Hunter Mode is just plain irritating.

But the one thing I hate the most about it, you completely lose the awesome color and detail that you see in normal view when using Hunter Mode. I play ME3 because it looks awesome. But running around in Hunter Mode on makes playing mp only 50% enjoyable for me. A slight blurr effect would've been better with none of those bright symbols hanging in front of your eyes all the time. Hunter Mode is a must for Geth users.

I think you've hit it. Those bright symbols on the screen makes your eyes want to focus on them but you're not. It's like playing "tug-of-war" with your eye muscles to determine what you're seeing is more dominant. The center of your screen or those bright symbols? It is problematic.

By far, Hunter Mode is the best mode I've used on any of my characters, but its the most annoying to use. Hope they fix it. All my friends complain about it.

Heightened brightness, the ridiculous amount of blur and the blue "zips" are what does it, especially the blur.

Also, since you see through walls, please highlight the targets you can hit (taking AP ammo / mods /javelin into consideration) with another color.

I quote Legion on this Geth Hunter Vision is, "Overclocking hardware for short-term benefits, at the expense of long term platform survivability."

So, use it as only when necessary or not at all.

Give it a rest, it's the only thing making it different from the salarian and you're using some some singleplayer crap to justify eye strain.

I find the Blur on any of the skills in the game is stupidly annoying at times. It can be ignored by simply looking to the center of the screen but that doesn't mean it couldn't be turned down or even OFF.

Does it bother me all the time? No. Does it bother some people? Yes. Although it might not bother you, this isn't strictly about you. It's about options.

Whatever happened to having the option of turning things off? I remember when the Option menu actually gave you game altering options. Such as Motion Blur, vSync and other common things that can be found in most games.

Having recently unlocked the Geth Infiltrator, I decided to give Hunter Mode a try. The combination between screen blurring, contrast shifts, and the simulated blue scan lines make for an extremely busy and unnecessary display. The worst culprit however is the triangles in the HUD: the simultaneous superposition of different focal planes is horrendous.

The overlay it adds is fine.

The blurriness is TOTALLY UNNECESSARY.

The overlay still needs a bit of toning down as well. It's not perfectly fine. It's just easier to ignore or enjoy compared to the Blurring of the HUD.

But I agree with you on one thing. The Blurring is unnecessary in it's entirety.

I don't understand why Dev's feel the need to make the game harder when you're using Buffs or close to death. Some games cover your screen in RED to warn you of inpending doom. Some games even turn everything black and white while darkening the screen.

It's an attempt at cool visual effects but it does the opposite in most cases. I think the best solution would be options to turn off at least the blurring.

The overlay is an eyesore. The brightness is an eyesore. The blur is an eyesore. The mode gives me a headache within minutes and I am not prone to headaches or migraines.

All it needs is the triangle and it should be fainter and the ability to see red dudes through walls. Nothing should be obstructing or altering your view you should just be enhanced.

I don't really give a fig leaf if people like this mode, it is causing some of us physical discomfort to use it. Obviously I just don't use it but it would be cool if there was a better option.

it doesnt bother me... the only thing that does is the fact that its slightly harder to find the objectives.

I'm getting used to it, I just stand completely still when looking for the next objective marker... but I do feel bad that I'm probably blowing up someone's hacked Geth way too early because I can't tell which ones are hacked through the redness.

Since turning the brightness of my TV down, it's been no problem for me at all. I haven't even noticed it whilst playing, I've become so used to it.

Does not bother me, unlike the reave sound which makes me want to scream.

Only problems I got with HM is that its damn hard to see objectives and more importantly teammates who need revives.

Turning down the brightness helps, but then makes the rest of the races are a pain to play. IMO half-shields and the tunnel vision from the random symblos on screen are enough of a trade-off for Hunter Mode, no need to hurt the player's eyes.

Bioware thinks eye-strain and migraines is a good way to balance game mechanics.

It's really annoying, even after I turned my brightness down a fair bit. The blurring is annoying, ant bloom is annoying, the symbols, if not annoying, at least hinder gameplay, it takes me, at least, much longer to find objectives, and keeping track of them can be difficult because of how noisy the edges of the screen are.

It's bearable to me after turning my brightness down, but barely. So...
