Doesn't hurt or make me sick but it does make it hard for me to see certain things like the blue marker when you need to kill HPTs or find the location of the hacking area. I always have to turn it off for the beginning of these objectives.

I support this petition.
I also support eating carrots and doing eye exercises in the meantime.

Yes. Hurts eyes.
I didn't think this would happen to me, but after playing an extended period of time (an hour or two, on three consecutive days) my eyes hurt like hell.
And I instinctively didn't turn Hunter Mode on anymore. It seriously strains the hell out of my eyes. So no matter how cool it looks, even with lower brightness, it HURTS.
So yeah, consider this signed.
Alternative solution: the option to turn off special effects of Rage Mode and Hunter Mode. You could see the enemies through the "red light" just like when you're in Spectator Mode. Everyone would be happy with an option like that... and it shouldn't be too hard to implement. You just have to add an "if condition" and a "toggle button" in the menu.

Anyone who took or majored in Physiology or Opthamology/Optomerety will tell you that it's SCIENTIFIC FACT that your brain is hardwired to try to constantly adjust (lengthening or contacting the lens of your eye) by contracting/relaxing your eye muscles trying to focus whenever it sees a blurry image
This is why eye doctors WILL TELL YOU NOT TO WEAR BLURRY GLASSES WITH THE WRONG PRESCRIPTION (or someone else's different lenghth glasses) because it results in eye strain
The constant 'blurry' effect on your game screen tricks your eyes into thinking it's not properly focused as it futilely attempts to focus to correct the image by lengthening/shortening your the lens of your eye,
causing fatigue of your eye muscles after awhile, hence the eye strain
This can actually be a liability for Bioware & someone somewhere will sue Bioware for it, especially in sue-happy USA (remember the woman who sued McDonald's for too-hot coffee when it spilled on her?)
It's a lawsuit waiting to happen & I'd rather not see Bioware waste time/money defending itself against such a lawsuit when it can be so easily remedied so that never happens.
The 'blur vision' effect was a cool idea & effective in short bursts (panning, depth of field, shockwaves, explosions, near death, etc) but not meant for constant long-term hours of viewing at a time
P.S. The reason why you get warnings on 3D games now about gameplay flashings triggering seizures is that someone did sue Nintendo when their kid got seizures from the flashing of it's games back in the day, hence the warnings in game manuals now & beginings of most game start screens.

this is the main reason geth are not used by me. even in a well lit room my eyes can not take it for more than a few minutes. honestly do not see how they thought this was a good idea.

Hunter mode should have a timer on it, like a cloak. It's not meant for continuous use.

Goddamn, I could feel that it was the blur that was bothering me the FIRST SECOND I activated Hunter Mode, but I couldn't really tell why.

I personally belief hunter mode needs only 1 fix, removal of the depth of field effect, the artifacts and grain alone balance it out fine

The fix would be the removal of the blur. It hurts.

Not entirely sure if this works or if anyone else has mentioned it, but maybe more people can try it...
I experimented with both geth and got the blurry, awful experience sometimes that hurt my eyes after a minute like most people are saying here, and other times hunter mode was just brighter and had those symbols around the edge, which was playable for me. At first I thought it was the amount I had leveled up hunter mode, but upon testing it more and with different squads, it seems like if you are in a squad with another geth, then activating hunter mode will give you the blurry version/seeing double. When I was the only geth in the squad, I encountered no double vision but just a slightly brighter screen with the symbols. Seems weird that having two geth in a squad both using hunter mode makes it blurry but again, I'm not entirely sure on it. If you are getting sick from the double vision then maybe you could try this...but if its just the brightness/symbols then yeah only a fix would help you and in that case I'll sign..

The least Bioware could do is to make this annoying overlay optional. The FOV in this game is already medieval because the consoles can't keep up and now even more screen space is blocked by this HUD.

If fixing this would lead for a nerf to compensate then I don't want it.
besides Rage is worse :/

Personally it does not bother me that much, I like the overlay but I can see how it could affect other people. It took me a little while for my eyes to get used to at first, and I'm sure that it causes a good amount of strain for many people.
As such I really think it should be looked into/changed.

Shields are already nerfed in this mode. Why would they weaken it further?
