The geth are one of my favourite characters but I can't play them because of this. It is such a pain

Excuse me for not reading 45 pages of posts but, Hunter Mode is intentionally hard on the eyes as a tradeoff for it being such a powerful ability.  What next, buff Geth health too?

This is the same logic that went behind the torture scenes in metal gear solid: it should affect you in real life to compensate/ help you empathise with the character.

But seriously, it being a "tradeoff" is nonsense. Why do we have to trade headaches for fun? IT'S A GAME - It's supposed to be fun not give you headaches. Do you see games saying stuff like "Gain 1000000 units of in-game currency in return for a backache!" ? You should not need to trade health for in-game abilities. Your character having reduced sheilds is a trade-off enough

It for sure needs to be patched, its very straining on the eyes...honestly I can only play a match or two as my Geth due to this and I have perfect vision. When It's not enjoyable to play a character in ME3 due to poor UI design something needs to be changed.

If you're not trolling, this is one of the most illogicial posts I've seriously ever seen. You do realise the "tradeoff" is reduced shield effieciency, right?

I have only just started getting used to it but damn, is it tiring after a few matches! I'm gonna experiment with the brightness a bit till it hopefully gets fixed.

Are you joking? Did Bioware actually say that?

No, it's just been ASSumed by those who don't want to belive it's a health hazard. There has been 0 comment by anyone at BioWare about this. I PMed Chris last night with the link to the thread. I'm considering getting in a rotation of sending 1 PM a day to everyone on the customer support team until I get a response. 5 months and not word.

Nothing should be intentionally "hard" on the eyes, especially went it comes to a computer display. Desinging something like that violates just about evey ethical code a UI designer should follow, and to reaching extent the law. Comapnies and product makers are not allowed to intentionally create something that is harmful to the customer/consumer. Futher said creator has a moral obligation to fix or pull a damaging or dangerous product.

I would be willing to help send PM's, as well as send email's to customer support. This honestly need's to be changed and fast at that.

Devastator Mode is 3 times better and the "downside" is EASILY fixed with a single level 1 consumable, taking into account that a level 1 makes the speed roughtly the same and level 2 and 3 make you faster than normal units soldiers.

Just give us the option to turn off the effects of Hunter Mode. That should please everyone.

This is one of the main reasons I rarely play Geth. If it were toned down or the color changed perhaps to green instead of red, it might be more tolerable.

was looking forward to playing my geth when i just unlocked them recently (both infiltrator and engineer). cant play either though... engineer gets double vision with hunter mode up and the infiltrator hunter mode, while not giving double vision just hurts my eyes. sad =(

would love if we could get an option in graphics settings or something to turn this off.

Wow never seen this massive thread, I have always complained about the hunter mod HUD - I love the bonuses it grants but both my geth never use hunter mode just because of the horrendous visuals.

I would love it if we could turn it off but I highly doubt they will allow that since its probably their way of balancing the power, same thing with devestator mode - amazing bonuses with annoying pointless red lines.

It's very hard to see the objective markers sometimes with it on.

Agree + 100000

Hunter mode should stay the way it is except:

Get rid of that STRAINING BLURR and those geometric honey comb like pattern.
Then we can finally enjoy the Graphics of the game without interference from the above major drawbacks and its so much better for the eyes!
46 pages and not a word from bioware......

I have forgone Hunter Mode on my Geth Engineer altogether (kinda pointless when you can't use it on the Infiltrator), too many headaches.

The only part that I find annoying is when I'm looking for the arrow that points in the direction of the objective and can't find it through the effects around the edges of the screen. :\\

I will totally sign this....

Don't get migraines but it can give my headaches and it IS a strain on the eyes for me.

I DO understand the partial geth matrix ville look they were going for but it's not worth it to put undue strain on the eyes of people.

Just make it like the thermal / electronic emissions from the avp games... There the colours/background were subdued .... And I don't exactly think the effect is copyrighted...

EDIT: And why on earth do people insist on this: "It is not a problem for ME so it shouldn't be a problem for anyone else" ... Yeah... And there are people who are able to run for 30 km. on a broken leg so in the future broken legs is no longer being sick just whiny. Jeez... the iq of people really is a bell curve.

Im kinda pleased to see Im not the only one who gets a headache from it. Don't get me wrong, it looks cool and everything. But after a match or two I start getting eye strain and a headache from it and I have to play another class. I think it'd be far more tolerable but still 'cool lookiing' if they just lowered the opacity of it.

This thread was created 6 months ago and has nearly 50 pages and there hasn't been a single comment from a dev on the subject.

It's fairly obvious they don't give a ****.

I used to object to making hunter mode more user eye friendly. That was until it got the nerfs from the overpowered condition that it had. Now it could be less agressive to eyes since there's no so much uberness in it as used to be.

Only way I can play GIs without bleeding my eyes out is to turn down the in-game brightness to -3 at least. That still doesn't help the blurr effect on the edges, and the white doodads getting in the way of objective markers. :pinched:
