"Not to your liking"... yeah, who doesn't enjoy a good migraine?

Amazing how many people don't realize there are brightness settings.

Amazing how somebody doesn't see how much of a pain it would be to go through and change your brightness settings for one power on one class because it gives you a headache otherwise. Then you switch to a different character and everything's too dim so you have to adjust the brightness again. And again when you wanna play the Geth again. And again when you wanna switch again. And again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and do you see where this is going? It's highly inconvenient and for some, it's a deal breaker. I'm one of those people. I don't play the Geth Infiltrator because of HM. There arebetter alternatives. I don't see why the brightness of the overlay can't just be toned down a bit but you know, whatever it takes to make the GI hard to use right?

This issue is not planned be patched, which is why it is not addressed in upcoming patch 1.04.

If the Geth Hunter mode is not to your liking you can change the brightness in game or on your monitor/TV or you can choose to play another class.

I can't speak for anyone else Chris... but personally it's not an issue of brightness but more one of my brain trying (and obviously failing) to focus on the moving picture of the gameplay through the stationary white effect plastered on the screen by hunter mode.... it's like motion sickness on steroids.

On the few occasions I've had to watch someone using Hunter Mode through spectator mode it looks like a really useful power... but every time I have tried it I have gotten a migraine within 10 mins. The first time I tried using it I had it active for an entire match and immediately had to go and lie down in a dark room for hours before the headache went away.

I know no-one is forcing us to use the power, or even the Geth classes, but given that this is their signature skill it feels like I'm missing out on an important part of their gameplay experience. If I was alone in this then I'd be more inclined to let it slide. However, given the sheer number of people that are painfully affected by this... seriously... would it really take that much effort for someone to patch the white effect off the screen during Hunter Mode?

Well, we kinda got that, but we'd still like it to be addressed at a future time. Just not being able to play Geth classes or at least forfeiting the one power that make these classes useful does seem silly. Also, if many people get headaches or worse using this power, than isn't that enough reason to do something about that? Surely Bioware doesn't want that to happen?

Well... that's disappointing.

Don't bother making any more geth classes then because assuming they have hunter mode a lot of people aren't going to play them.

Can't believe this thread finally got a response from BioWare.

As much as I'd like to see it fixed, the only truly annoying thing for me is not being able to see objective markers clearly, if they'd change the color (either of HM's lines or of the objective markers) I'd be satisfied with just that. As for the lines being annoying, they are, but mainly (assuming it doesn't give you headaches) it just takes some getting used to. To some extent it feels like I'm wearing a medieval helmet that obscures a fair amount of your field of vision (but if medieval helmets let their wearers see through walls, I daresay they'd have minded it less, like me with HM).

You can always tell the most worthless posts by the way they include jabs at skill of total strangers.

Yeah, they finally expressed their disinterest in this topic in writing rather than just ignoring it.  At least we got some feedback.  Yay....

Doesn't hurt my eyes. Then again, I play with brightness at medium, lights in the room on, and I don't sit too close. It can be annoying to find objective arrows though. I kinda like it though. Hunter vision is like a ME terminator overlay or something to that effect.

I must admit i dont touch the GI because of HM. I do play the GE but i refuse to put a point in HM, im sure that gives me quite a disadvantage but tbh i dont care, i have enough issues with my eyes (birth defect) im not gonna aggravate them anymore than i have to. I also avoid meleeing with krogan, soldiers with AR, turian soldier with marksman, though bloodlust seems tolerable. I think its a real shame that i have to avoid so many classes. Would there be any chance of patching in a 'char effects' toggle in the options? I would love to be able to turn all those glowy effects off and play whatever class takes my whim.

Falls under the realm of "sorry for your loss". If they went ahead and did this there would likely be many petitions to get rid of other filters in the game or include options to disable them. They'd all point to this issue and say "but it is hurting me BW my head it aches!"

I imagine if you have problems from this you must have problems from a lot of media and you should probably learn to deal with it. Just like someone with a peanut allergy, don't expect the world to cater to you and tell you what not to eat. You have to figure it out for yourself and avoid those things.

Welcome to life. It was never fair.

If BioWare were concerned about accessibility issues there would be many display options, not just limited to Hunter Mode. I have no issue with Hunter Mode myself, which is why I don't think I've ever posted in this thread, but I support changes for accessibility if it's feasible. And I consider palette swaps and light/dark changes to be on the easier side of changes they could make.

People like this are why democracy has as many problems as it does.

It would be a nice addition. My main problem is that I lose the objective marker amongst the HUD and have to do the dance of shame to pick up where I'm heading for.

Speak for yourself. I'd love to see new Geth characters, Hunter mode included. My friends and I have had no problems with Hunter mode and I never turn it off when I play a Geth. It sucks that you and others find it distracting, but don't assume everyone feels the same way. I'm surprised to see this thread at all. Try playing around with your brightness/contrast settings.

Making auto-aim an option would be a nice addition as well. Hate when I snap-zoom onto a swarmer instead of the Marauder I was planning to shoot.

So Rifneno can whine his opinion but my opinion upsets the Democratic process? Lame. Can't please everyone, making changes to please the minority is not Democratic. Democracy is for the many. P.s. you disgust me.

There has to be a way to make it look cool but not strain our eyes. I think the blurr effect on the outside is what does it.

Exactly.  You're only concerned with yourself and to hell with anyone else.  You don't deserve a voice.

I have no problem with the crazy symbols all over the place. What I do have a problem with is the weird brightness and contrast changes that it brings. Give us an option to turn that off. I should not have to adjust my tv settings every time I want to play a Geth character. That is completely asinine. I hope you realize that Mr. Prestly.
