And thus I have said I can understand where they are coming from. The solutions are simple.

Too bright? Turn down the Brightness
Too Blurry? Turn up the Sharpness
Too "flashy? Get less lag.

Even simpler... Bioware fixes it. For everyone...

Actually thats more complicated...you COULD just do something for yourself for once and stop expecting to be catered to...just saying.

Yes... but the point is that it's a poor design if xyz amount of people have to go change their settings, which work fine in a majority of the same game. Or general screen settings which work fine with most other games and applications.

It's totally cool with a brightness setting. If I have a very dark or very bright screen I can change it ONCE and it will work through out the entire game.

That I have to set it specifically for minor portions of the game is... Bad design of that part of the game.

EDIT and PS: Actually I do like the visual design of huntermode but that does not outweigh the detractions.

No one said to change it each and every time you turn HM on and off.

Set your brightness to a reasonable level (NOT 100%) and play the game, save your eyes.
By having a bright screen on in a dark room for too long can hurt your eyes, same concept as having a screen that is too bright even in a room with all the lights on.

This issue is not planned be patched, which is why it is not addressed in upcoming patch 1.04.

If the Geth Hunter mode is not to your liking you can change the brightness in game or on your monitor/TV or you can choose to play another class.

Right. In the meantime, why don't you attempt a playthrough of this terrific disco Mario thing? Please tell us when you're finished.

It is not that hunter mode is not to our liking, it is that it provoke headaches in less than 5 minutes, we would like to be able to play with it without geting sick, and after 6 month of petition and 52 page the only thing you are answering is if it is not to our liking we can play another class.

What you said was exactly the same as saying : i dismiss your claim of being sick and i consider it is just a question of taste, and we don't care one bit.

This is what you just answered the community.

That is the second biggest insult to the player community i've ever heard up till now.

(the fisrt biggest were the answer about the end of the game)

Not what he said AT ALL.
He said fix the issue yourself like you should.
If your screen is soo bright it hurts your eyes...TURN DOWN THE BRIGHTNESS.

It is COMMON SENSE for crying out loud!

Your issue, which is caused by LAG:

A Regular screenshot, which shows that HM is NOT bright, NOT fuzzy, and with no lag, does NOT glitch on and off:

If it was only me it would be common sense.

The thing is, it is not just me, it is something that predates my arrival on this game, that touch more people than i can count.

Your common sense is biased.

I see no difference between your 2 screenshots.

The problem lies with the overlay, not with my screen.

Common Sense is never biased.
Most people here are lazy and don't want to do something for themselves, they expect a company to cater to their every whim.

I've given you all the solution to your issue, if you don't like it, find another. but telling BioWare and EZ that they have to "fix" something that is not broken, is simply stupid.

Why the hell do people feel the need to waste their time in here arguing about how this isn't a genuine problem? Are you died in the wool intra-net warriors who must defend the game you've invested half of your life into these last few months? Quite frankly its pathetic.

People are highlighting a genuine health related issue that prevents them from playing a part of the game. You would whine just as loudly if it effected you, try and have a little respect for your fellow man and stop acting like ****ing dogs in the street.

The brightness of the game is fine outside of huntermode. Changing it once to suit "fit" huntermode makes it "unfine" for other parts of the game. Thus I have to change it on / off.

I'll bite. Yajuu, what on earth is your objection to people who have been clamoring for some kind of adjustability for this option for well-on five months now? There's several dozen threads worth of complaints about the visual choices of Hunter Mode inducing migraines and dizziness in people, so this is not an issue that affects "just a few people."

There's also a bunch of people who can't use the ability due to how it interacts with their TVs, but that's neither here nor there right now. This is a physical issue, one which, if medical journals are to be believed, effects somewhere in the vicinity of a 5th of the human population.

To cut to the chase: Why does it offend you so much that people are asking for, at the very least, adjustability to this?

Inferring a lot there aren't ya? He never said that. You should be a politician or political radio host if you're going to stuff words in people's mouths like that.

Theres not really much more to say about your position than baseless inference.

IMHO BW and Chris probably don't want to start a precedent for "fixing" visual effects. If this petition got its way it would open the door for people to claim that they are being hurt by an effect and it should be removed. Even if said person was only doing it because they didn't like bloodlusts's red filter.

I'm not saying anyone is lying in this thread, I believe that it could cause headaches. But I also know people would lie in the future.

Everyone complaining and petitioning for the change has a very good reason to, and if it bothered me I might support this as well... But I wouldn't be too discouraged if BW said no either. I have to deal with my own handicaps and not everywhere is going to cater to them or can cater to them. It has happened before and it'll happen again. Its not fair, and petitioning isn't wrong but insulting and making baseless accusations isn't right either.

And it certainly isn't the way to sway someone's opinion.

Reave sound got patched out and that was merely annoying, it didn't make anyone ill.

And wow... there's a lot of completely selfish, stupid w4nkers posting in this thread. Not even trying to understand the issue and repeating ad nauseum "turn down the brightness" when the brightness isn't the problem just tells everyone else what a self obsessed idiot they are. It's not like the problem hasn't been explained in detail.

1. Learn 2 read
2. Try to sympathise with other peoples' issues
3. ?????
4. Profit... You are now a member of the human race, not a selfish ape.

I hope when they get a health issue they receive more sympathy and understanding than they have given here.

I had headaches from HM,but I lowered brightness at -2 and now is a little better.
I got one strange advice and don´t know how to explain it very well, but  you have to change view perspective while playing-close/far to rest eyes lill bit.
Edit.
I created thread (Head)Hunter Mode a month ago and fellow forumite dumdum2 gave me advice, that helped me alot.

Maybe it's just me but...

"We don't have the money for changing huntermode." or "The cost/benefit ratio for fixing the huntermode is too poor" is a perfectly valid explanation or reason in my world.

But dismissing other peoples experience ( NOT that bioware/ea did that here!) is insulting in itself to me.

Ironically...here's an example OF postpro...look at my pic here on the forum.

It is a simple 50pt Gaussian Blur combined with a lighting effect. And even better, its pulses.
Does it give you a headache? or even slightly bother your eyes?

First, there's no irony in that.  At all.  Not one bit.  Your avatar is extremely annoying.  Whenever I see it, I scroll the page so that it doesn't show anymore.

Now that that's out of the way, I'd like to point out that from a logical standpoint the distracting HM overlay doesn't make any sense.  HM is supposed to grant a boost to the geth's senses, which it does in the form of highlighted enemies.  But then it goes and obscures the player's ability to see what's on the screen for purely aesthetic reasons.  For some this is a net loss in their ability to see what's going on, for others it's outright harmful.  Even those of us who don't get headaches or eye strain still suffer from the fact that you can't see objective markers making us less aware of our surroundings.  Bioware tried to make the power look cool at the expense of the power's functionality.  That's poor design.

Lol. 53 pages?

Half life 2 makes me nauseous and motion sicky. Therefore, I don't play it.

Now, entry ramps into a building, yes, those are a good thing.

To follow your own oppinion through. You should not build entry ramps and just ask wheelchair users to go somewhere else.

Heck... They can order stuff online. They dont need to go anywhere.

Or... Alternative point of view. Ok I don't mind that other people (the ones that arent me me ME!) in wheelchairs get a ramp or that people dont get nauseous / migraines from a game.

No shopowners or gamedevelopers should bankrupt themselves to accomodate a minority but it is a nice gesture and imho a emphatic humane thing to do.

As i said my screen's brightness if finely balanced to play every game i have, and it works exelentely outside of hunter mode, and it is a recent monitor (IIyama E2208HDS).

You have not given any viable solution, for there is no viable solution you can provide.

Your "solution" consist of changing settings specifically for the hunter mode, and changing them back for the rest of the game.

This is not a solution.

We don't want BW to catter our every need, we only ask that the hunter mode does not render a lot of people sick after 5 minutes.

Did you think we were stupid enough to not try to tweak the display a little to try if it renders it any better ?, guess what, it does not renders it any better for people who get headaches from it.

Ho and before you start saying that my eyes are the problem, yes i have light Myopia but other than that they are fine, let me tell you that i only participate in this thread since the last 3 pages, so if you imply i have problems with my eyes, you are also implying that 50 other pages worth of player that have problem with hunter mode also have problem with their eyes.

I suppose you know occam's razor ? guess which of the 2 sentenses are more right  according to that principle.
- Hundreds of players have problem with their eyes
Or
- Bioware screwed up the overlay of hunter mode.

My point is made.

Its 50 pages of argument and rebuttal. Don't buy for a second that these 50 pages contain only complaints. A lot of people have quoted others quite extensively. Prob more like 10 pages of requests for change. Maybe 5 pages of health issues.

I'm not kidding though, my problem is not the brightness, it's the blur that comes with it.
And that blur caused me blurry vision after using the skill for 2 days, which is really bad.
But luckily it was only temporary.

That's as bad as DICE's response to the blue tint. It's non-sensical.

You should make it optional at least. <_<
