what's the fourth novel?

I hear you.

Also, there are no sequels to Highlander, no such thing as Galactica 1980, the Empire was never defeated by Ewoks
and I really want to see a Batman movie with the Riddler in it!

(Or that's my story and I'm sticking to it)

in the name of all that's Karpyshyn, PLEASE sweep ME: Deception under the rug and give us Gillian Grayson.

If we can't have Jack or any of the other biotics, please edit Gillian back to life and add her to the squad!

Please don't go all Anakin Solo on us, Bioware! Paul Grayson's legacy deserves better :(

Wasn't deception horrible though?

Absolutely. I don't encourage anyone to read it. Certainly not to pay money for it. That was the whole goal of the Amazon bomb campaign. To let people know how terrible it was before they wasted their money on it.

It's one of the worst books I've ever read.

You guys succeeded.  I was looking forward to the book until I heard some of the stuff wrong with it.  Did not buy.

Thank you, you guys saved me money.  Unfortunately my bad feeling about if the book was so bad, maybe the game would dissapoint ended up being correct.

Gilllian was stabbed with a toothbrush by Lieutenant "Bastard" Kai Leng. She's not coming back.

Just resurect Gillian Grayson and make her as DLC.

I would love to find her in some Cerberus base, on life support after the events of ME: Deception. Just say that T.I.M. took her body and used leftover lazarus project stuff. I mean she very important to him and Cerberus.

If they could bring back Shepard's burned corps, they can fix a little Oral-B neck wound.

I'm afraid she was killed by Merry Sue. Way too many good characters were killed in really bad ways. Was a major letdown that such a powerful biotic could be killed with a sharpened tooth brush. By a sub-par assassin no less.

Sorry if this breaks your day, but...

Didn't they kill her in Deception? (after retconning away her autism, btw)

And since Kai Leng in ME3 is based on his Deception version, we have to accept the sad truth. Since they did not fix the things broken in the book, they're not fixing the things from the book that got into the game.

lol so the books are equally as awfull as the ending of ME3 was?

i could have expected as much i guess.

were they written by drew karpashinski?

No, just Deception and it was written by William C. Dietz.

I didn't buy the book mainly because the author had changed from the first three. The description didn't really seem in-line with how Gillian had been in previous books either, since she was described as being angry and wanting vengeance against Cerberus along with what seemed like teenage angsty love, so I decided to just avoid it.

Forgot to leave some troll food out for Oldbones 2.

Thank god, though, for the rest of us who actually appreciate the lore and wonderful cast of characters Bioware has created for us. Gillian Grayson is a character of great potential and it is within the means of the ME universe that she can be easily brought back. I'm glad to see that there are several other threads of ME fans who've read Karpyshyn's novels and wish to see GG as a squadmate.

Batarian squadmate, for sure! ME2, ain't gonna happen. If it were going to, it already would have. Too many variables, too many player saves where the ME2 character didn't survive.

I say:

1. Gillian Grayson - offensive Adept squaddie
2. Batarian - Sentinel or soldier, either is cool
3. Aria T'Loak - temporary squad member for an Omega DLC (as asari vanguard type)

The prospect of having Gillian Grayson as a Squad Mate or at least as a character appearing in a DLC is a brilliant one, regardless of the Toothbrush death from Deception. If they retconned it, they could add her and allow people to interact with someone with autism in an environment where the character isn't being tortured (as in the example of David during the Mass Effect 2 DLC). She seems like a decent character.

If they retconned it

The meaningless deaths for most of the characters fleshed out in the books must have been intentional. Bioware evidently decide to torch the franchise and run - they're not going to change it.

Further, artistic integrity! You lose!

We've all read about her in the novels so why not conclude her story in Mass Effect 3. Having Gillian on board can give the player insight with her dealings with Cerberus and Paul Grayson. As a high functioning autistic myself, Gillian has shown herself to be a formidable combatant and a reliable comrade to have at your side despite her challenges and would be a great asset to have aboard the Normandy.

Here are my list of preferences for Gillian Grayson DLC so far:

-Summer Glau to voice Gillian

-Biotic Sphere for a new power to unlock in SC

-Gillian should continue where she left off to hunt down Cerberus and avenger her father

(In working progress, feel free to post down your thoughts and suggestions for this idea)

Gillian is dead. Kei Leng stabbed her in the neck
