The problem isn't the farming. The problem is that the searching for unknown/unknown doesn't filter out the farming lobbies. The solutions given by people in this thread don't work for everybody. If you want unknown/unknown searching for Cerberus or Reapers is not the solution. That eliminates white/geth but that wasn't the entire point.

Hosting isn't a good fix. If I host a game the lobby can remain empty for 10 minutes or more. The few players that enter leave because the lobby is empty. Could be my connection, but there isn't anything I can do to fix that. I've had a static IP with Xbox live port forwarded for years. Games like COD list my NAT as open. But for whatever reason this game doesn't populate my lobbies.

They need to just make searching for unknown/unknown not mean any/any so that it doesn't return farming lobbies 75% of the time.

This. Sometimes I do FBW credit farming, sometimes I mixed it up.

Everyone, stop mocking the OP! He is obviously very sensitive about his I.Q., thus his constant cries of "dumbarse." He doesn't mean badly, he just doesn't know how to express his frustration politely, and he can't comprehend the advice being given to him, which is why he can't follow it! Please, let's be gentle with our disadvantaged friends. 

Maybe he can't find the "Create New Match" button or hit "Confirm." That would require such complex skills as reading, and clicking! Can't you see that's just not possible for him? And what if you add in something crazy like choosing 3 options? Why, he must get so confused, looking at all those maps and enemies and difficulties to choose from! 

Come on, everyone. Seriously. Find the compassion in your hearts for those less fortunate. It will make this forum a better place.

 Damn straight. Farming is faster and more reliable if you're playing with public players.

Furthermore, everyone has to learn somehow. Mining credits is a good way to get a feel for Gold before you're ready to branch out and fight other enemies in other places.

That's a really good point. Farming does let you get a feel for the damage you can/can't take on gold, and see how you have to adapt your playstyle to the shield gating mechanics.

Just let them farm their credit and wait. You can't gold farm in this game and there are no real money profit to make of it. So these people are only farming credits for themselve to unlock everything as fast as they can.

My point is that, basically, these people will have everything they can have pretty soon, they will get bored and they will stop playing or be here in the forum crying there is nothing to do in the MP.

Just let them burn themselve out. It is really their loss in the end.

Host your own lobby or specify a specific map to join.  You do have options to utilize here.

I find it rather difficult since a week or so to even get into a lobby. usually takes 10-15min, with connection lost and host left while in the search screen, before i get into a lobby, then half of the time the host leaves, and ofcourse everybody else clicks the very attractive "exit" button instead of waiting 5sec and end up with 3 people. theres like (I think) 150k active players on PC and still its so damn hard to get a game, on any difficulty level.

It's a co-op game. There is nothing wrong with farming credits. No one is getting an edge over you, no one is harming the game. Let people enjoy what they want.

As for the filtering, I'll agree it does need to do a bit better if someone wants Unknown/Unknown rather than fixed place and/or enemies (and thus not getting the bonuses or surprise of enemies/maps).

There will always be those N7 weapons to unlock as well as the weekend events.

Point is, when my friends and I credit farm we do it for two reasons: to unlock stuff we don't have and to help friends we've brought onboard get credits to unlock stuff.  When we don't "credit farm" gold, we do it for fun -- but heck, even the "credit farm" is fun with the right friends. 

We don't really burn ourselves out. The question with the credit farming is generally, "How fast can we finish this map compared to our other fast times?"

I understand eldrjth's frustration. He is tired of being forced to play a specific way or get booted. That said, I support the practice of farming FB:W for credits. I personally farm on and off.

Some one mentioned above, the loot mechanic is so random that if you dont farm you may never unlock the character or weapon you really wanted. This is the reason I do it. For example, I just managed to unlock the Asari Adept last night after spending all my credits for the last 5 weeks on Specter packs. I have almost every other character but never managed to get her.

One idea, it might help if some packs/characters were specific to maps. For example, FB: White could have a pack with a chance to unlock an Asari Adept, Serelian Infiltrator or one of a selection of weapons. In most MMOs you will take on a raid or dungeon knowing what loot options are available and often would farm the ones that give you what you wanted. If they added pack tokens for completing specific maps then people would farm one less and instead turn there attention to the maps that had the items they were interested in.

Anyhow, until they make it easier to focus on what you actually want/need instead of a mass pool of random rewards, people will continue to find new ways to farm. Its the only way they can afford the number of packs it takes to get the items they are after. Hell, you could spend 240k just trying to get some medi-gel from spectre packs and still end up with none. Thats just broken.

It's not even "farming" as much as being as optimal as possible. You mess up with tactics and you still die. Just that the odd of clearing gold is much higher. Like others have said, create a match or find some other settings. People want to do FB:W and yo want to change their preference? You want to ban asari adept, salarian infiltrator, biotic combos and overload next?

Also I'm pretty sure you get the chance to play a different maps/race thanks to operation goals?

Do like a guy did on my last farm run: Go geth Inf. take the spike thrower and run around the map getting killed as quickly as possible.

He had fun and we farmed. It was like an episode of the Waltons...only in space...with robots.

I'm still sad, though. I haven't been called a name yet

See I agree.  People just say host or search for other options.  Any random gold game will 9/10 times be FB:W Geth.  So you can keep searching for a specific enemy type.  Ok, now your in a lobby with one other person and no one else joins.  Or it throws you into a game already in progress.  Not really a viable option.  Only option is to host yourself. 


They should just expand the MP options to EXCLUDE things.  So you can checkmark Gold, checkmark Cerberus/Reapers and checkmark all of the maps EXCEPT FB:W.   This way you can have the randomness still without any Geth.   Battlefield 3 through Origin did this very nicely.

This problem has bothered me as well. I want to try Gold sometimes in between farming credits. Going to Silver bores me a bit.
