in the mage tower quest when your going through the tower, on the 2nd or 3rd floor i think it is theres a fallen tomb you can inspect that has a vial of blood hidden in it, you can try to grab it and it breaks spawning a tough red lvl demon to fight. Hes pretty tough and droped a good shield and some other stuff.
The question is, can you do this later after you get the tower back or does it have to be done durring this event? My inventory is already getting really full and id rather come back and kill him later but im not sure if itll still be around after i clear the tower
is it?

That's not a demon, and it is one of 6 of it's kind. They are special optional bosses called "Corpse Walkers". They each drop a note with a Codex entry on what number they are, and some other flavor text about who imprisoned them.
More to the point though. You can go back into the Circle tower and kill him. You can also go back to complete "Summoning Science", and whatever the other optional quest is that ends up with Yusaris as a reward.

"Corpse Walkers?" What, is that a localization name? In English, they're called Revanants.

That's the generic creature name. What the OP fought in the Circle tower refers to the 6 "Corpse Walkers" that are part of the multipart Codex entry called "The Black Vials". Look it up, and read it.

They Revenants, which are desire or pride demons in the corpse of a warrior.

I'll probably be laughed out of the forum for this but I found those to be some of the toughest baddies in the game. So many potions gone... so many saves reloaded. *weep*

good, i wanted to go back since my gear was so full. Ya he was TOUGH. He seemed imune to most spells and his aoe was jacking me up i had to keep pausing and healing and ran outa sta/mana. No one died though just long and drawn out. i rock my dog, Paradise, Morrigan, Shale, and my main (templar right now templar/reaver at 14)
also good to know aboutthe sword yusaris.. i was planning on getting it ASAP but now im wondering if its stats/slots are dependent on what lvl you get it at. I heard some people saying it didn't have 2 slots when they got it. I hope not

I unintentionally discovered that often times you can avoid the AOE pull by "hiding" behind some of the low geometry. A table, a rock, a staircase, etc. By avoid, I don't mean you don't get knocked down, but when you get pulled the geometry between you and he physically prevents your character from being pulled into him, thus negating the up-close AOE damage. Utilizing this tactic with 2 mages and 2 melee, it practically trivialized the events.

You'll need to control your squishier ranged party members from time to time, and move them away from the boss level Revs. That should put them out of harm's way. If they get teleported then switch to them, and run.
If you have a 2h warrior Sunder Arms/Armor, and Destroyer are golden. If that same warrior is using a maul, even better! An archer with Suppressing Fire should be active. Frost damage won't work. They are all immune, but they can be frozen with Cone of Cold. Telekinetic or Flame weapons are also good buffs to have up. That's how I beat them, and really the fights aren't that tough once you know what you are up against. They get easier as your gear improves too.

I would try and fight them until I was around lv10. even then its a longer fight that can end badly if you dont reposition your guys after his grab attakc

Not really. Immune to cold, they hit hard and fast (and they have that dual strike ability) along with abilities that pull ranged attackers int their nasty melee range... so no, not really. They're pretty vicious buggers.kevinwastaken wrote...

oh i did beat him it was just a long fight, i was lvl 8. Like i said i am going to come back and do it later though since my inventory is so full.
i did notice the imunity to cold thing cuz i was using frost weapon.. question actually i didn't think about, shale has ice crystals, does that mean ALL his dmg was being negated that fight? if so might explain why it took so long lol

The first time I found him I was very low level as I'd done the mage circle soon. I was getting mauled. Ultimately I ended up running away from him with Miasma as Lilliana plinked him with arrows after Allister and someone else had gone down.
(Miasma is also how I won the proving grounds. Haha. Damned dwarves and their magic resistance!)
