That the developers say there will be a French vibe.
As we all know the French vibe is found in Orlais. The beutiful and powerfull country in Thedas.
I just wanted to share this and see your views about this.

I doubt that the entire next game will take place in Orlais, though it may be the main hub, just as Ferelden was for DA:O. Which *may* mean limited exposure to accents, for those who cringe at them.
They said they wanted the game to have a huge scope...so I'd imagine Orlais is just one place we'll see.

It's in Orlais - at this point, I don't doubt that in the slightest. I remember people speculating that Orlais would feature prominently in DA3 as early as shortly after DA2's release. They were right.RinpocheSchnozberry wrote...

But we all know what a terribly sensitive lot RPG players can be. I look forward to three years and hundreds of threads worth of complaining about French accents.

I can see it now.

That's why they should totally have a quest where your new protagonist attends/inflitrates an Orlesian masquerade ball, what better excuse than to really go OTT with the costumes and eccentric characters. It would be positively debauched! Plus it would be hilarious to have a mini quests where your companions have to dress up in the entertainments costumes and entertain guests whilst you sneak into the back rooms to cause trouble or something. The party banter would be amazing in that sort of setting too.
Plus It would be great fun kicking arse in a hideous looking ball gown!

That's my thought too.
We will see more of Thedas in DA3. Maybe even a quest in Ferelden because of the Alistair/queen Celene connection mentioned in DA2.
I'm not hoping for Rivain or Antiva but my guess is that we will see someting of Tevinter.
Tevinter because of the fact that it's the home base of the black divine. DA3 is about templar/mage war so it would be very strange if there would be no interference/reaction of some kind from there.
And I would really want to see more of the Thaigs. Kal Sharok is situated in Orlais and still populated by the dwarves. It used to be the capital of the deep roads so let me see some of that. Really curious about the architecture there and how the dwarves have developped there.

the only evidence you need for where it will be set is to follow Bodahn and Sandal, someway, somehow, they always ALWAYS find themselves in the midst of where things are happening.... and since Bodahn said they were heading to Val Royeaux in his goodbye conversation (which was frankly one of the saddest moments in the game for me... the way he said it, and how he said he worries about Hawke)

The Orlesian language is known only by those who play The Game.

As for Tevinter it should be saved for another game in the future. If that event from DA 2 still going in DA 3 I am interested how Tevinter gets involved on this one. Still Dragon Age world has plenty of rich land lore for us to explore upon.

this. bioware = trollolololing back at HQ.
I say screw accents - let DAIII be semi-educational and teach us real French. Maybe all the Orlais cutscenes can happen in black and white and we can all take up smoking while we play.
