Of course it was. It's the first thing I disable in the game(s). Having to send stats from what is essentially a SP game feature for MP events is ridiculous. To my knowledge, I have yet to play a game that was hacked and this stinks of a way to check your honesty. Poor move, Bioware.

Heh, spoken like a true yes man. It's not about tinfoil hats, it's about telling me my chioce to send data is now null and void if I wish to participate in these events. It was not needed in previous events so why now?

You get a Victory Pack for the events even if you don't participate as they are community goals. Your info specifically does not need to be uploaded for a Victory Pack. For the Commendation Pack you must upload your data as they are rewarded to individuals for their completion of a specific objective. You have no clue what you are talking about. Information is uploaded from single player so that Bioware can see how people play the game. Now yes there is the possibility that they are completely lying to us, but I doubt it. Even if they were engaging in subterfuge to find cheaters and hackers, so what? They deserve to be caught and banned.

Perhaps it was a Victory pack. I don't recall now because it was nothing special. About the uploading data...they can, and do, have methods for retaining what you have achieved in MP without the upload ticked (hello save stats). I just think it's...unnecessary since they already have the means to do it now. I agree that hacks should get their due, but it means you have to prove you're not a cheat to begin with. Distasteful that by the nature of this you are guilty until proven innocent. Whatever. You guys have your POV, I have mine.

EDIT:

This is also a poignant reminder of how poor an idea it was to allow things like the coalesced.json to be stored locally for MP where it can be abused so readily. That should have been a priority fix instead of the current state where they are doing stop-gap measures now with lengthy delays to the community that didn't screw up.

I'm with ChieckHawk07 on this one.... as far as I remember there have been plenty of promotional/exclusivity agreements with Sony and EA in the past. While I'm not entirely sure why the ps3 keeps getting shafted I don't think it has to do with Microsoft at all. There is most likely something else going on behind the scenes between Sony and BioWare. I'm ok with not being involved IF BioWare finds a way to give some sort of compensation for ps3 players, i.e. still give them the character dlc unlock pack if possible so that people dont have to continuously grind in order to try to and unlock even one of the new characters.

Bioware why don't you just stop *icking around and say that the ps3 won't be getting the multiplayer events at all.... i won't be surprised if the extended cut endings wont be available on ps3 "due to technical limitations..."

There were exp bonus events in previous weeks which were on PS3 as well as xbox and PC, which contradicts the Bioware statement that Sony is not allowing them. And if Sony is denying PS3 users access to these events it would be on principle and not content dependent: All the events which PS3 users were not able to participate in involved some form of bonus content, which is on the Bioware side.

Whether or not Sony is actually preventing these events, Bioware made the promise of feature parity to its customers so that they didn't have to worry about buying for a certain platform to share the experience.

Still have not received the commendation or victory pack from the Operation Raptor. While this is great to have another special weekend will we be able to get the download packs from the last event?

PS3 users will get the 'Resurgence' packs appearing in store which will be able to be purchased (same as 360 and PC).

A Bioware source told me that they have been working for months simply to be able to say Sony is responsible for the inability of PS3 players to participate.

A Sony communtiy manager Sushi_Pirate has received several PMs about this issue and is taking to higher ups. I suggest anyone interested in putting pressure on Sony, go to the Playstation forums and post/PM about it.
