This worked so far, although the question is why is it breaking the disc you had in when you downloaded the patch?
I don't see the connection because it's freezing on a Communication portion and not actually loading into the game etc

Anyway back to testing

disc 1 here, had no problems

I have yet to try the redownloading my GT though, so I'll try that  after this next couple disc swaps

Mine is installed to the HDD, restarted Xbox and its been fine since.

I got the problem once, when I first installed the patch. I haven't had problems since.

Game's installed to hard drive, had disc 2 in.

i got this 3 times even after restarting my console, then i took out my disc and clean it and it works

I used disc 1. Both for when it decided to be funny and when it worked.

Alright, sorry, Dad duties called.
Order of next tests.
1. Deleting off HDD
2. Gamertag Redownload

So deleting Disc 1 off the HDD has allowed it to load. I now have to re-download it to the HDD to see if it is the issue, this may take a few

Disc 1 was in the whole time, yes.  It connected immediately after downloading the patch, failed to connect after backing out to the dashboard, and connected again after re-downloading my gamertag.

Interesting. Yet another question. By any chance was anyone getting the "Change of profile" issue when they logged in before this on a frequent/semifrequent basis?

Just tried this, did not work.

EDIT: I meant tried deleting disc 1 off hdd.  Just wanted to be clear.

Deleting it off hdd
Switching Discs

Sorry just saw your edit. So you have tried redownlaoding your gamertag? and swapping to the disc that wasnt being used during the update?

I'm kinda stuck at the moment as my game is installing to HDD to test if thats an issue>
