I know this has a thread already, but another one will hopefully make Bioware and EA fix this sooner.
When I try to load up the game after downloading the new "patch" it won't go past the "connecting to EA servers" screen.   Iv'e reset the system cache and installed the game.  Nothing works.  I thought this patch was to fix the game, not break it even more!  Does anyone have any fixes that may work?


***Found out whats going on.  Iv'e been officially banned from multiplayer.  Anyone still having this issue should call EA support and ask if you have been banned as well.***

I managed to get it working by using the other disk but as of 5 mins ago its now freezing with both disks after kicking me from a multiplayer game. Not impressed in the slightest. I have just cleared my memory cache and redownloaded the patch and it seems to be working at the mo but we shall see how long.

had to turn off xbox 10 times to get mass effect 3 to work....so we've got that going for us now... which is nice

Yeah, same problem here, can't even play the game. Deleting the cache and redownloading the patch does nothing.

Tried again, now with disc 1, and it loads. I wonder what'll happen when I need to switch the discs.

Bioware fixes game-breaking bugs by adding game-breaking bugs. This new bug is their solution. By preventing you from progressing beyond the main menu, you can't experience the face import bug that still exists. Thus, the chaos is held at bay.

Seriously, how the heck did this get past Microsoft or anyone for that matter? Oh wow. Hope they fix it soon - I was excited to finally import my real ME1/ME2 FemShep face. :/

Same issue, reboot fixed for now. Others are reporting it is recurring though.

I was fine pre-patch but now it freezes every time it gets to the "connecting to EA servers" portion of the main menu. Venting and ranting isn't going to get anything fixed. Bioware has stated that they're aware of the issue and are working to fix it. At least now I have an excuse to work on some homework for once >_>

edit: I have also swapped discs and made it to the multiplayer menu once but hit the black hole when I tried to join a game. Gonna try the cache clear/repatch process now. See if that helps any.

Same here. Please address this, I can't even delete the patch and play without because you can't play unpatched games online and therefore I can't play the mp. Can we at least get word that bw has acknowledged this problem's existence? That'd be nice. Don't make me cry. I'll do it! TOO LATE!  HA! Don't you feel bad now?

me too after grissom bug now i can't play mass effect 3!
all time i try to play the game freezes tring to acces to EA server...

I can't play either, game crashed and now I cant play nor single or multi.

My game was stable before the patch. Now it crashes about 50% of the time when it starts up and connects to EA's servers. Others seem to have it worse. How did this get the ok from Bioware and then Microsoft?

My patience is wearing thin.

What the Heck is wrong with EA/BW.... this game was bad enough before... and now that i have new chars to make me WANT to play it freezes EVERYSINGLE time i try to sign in... for real BW/EA, for real...

Yup, and in addition to it freezing on the EA connecting screen, it freezes right in the middle of multiplayer missions which it has never done before

I've been having the problem non-stop since 5:45 AM when it forced me
off Xbox live to download the patch. I have called EA 3 times now with
new info about the way it is failing at the checks. Please call EA at
(866) 543 5435 and give them details on your problems as I have. I will
go through the steps I have done so all of you can try and hope for
better results.

After every step I tried launching Mass Effect 3
to either get stuck in an eternal load loop or to outright freeze right
after the press start screen.
1: Delete system cache (This was done
after every time I started the game since the update has been the
obvious problem I wanted to test this in as many setups as I could.)
2: Delete online pass then re-download.
3: Remove game from HDD.
4: Deleted DLCs. (Both Resurgence and From Ashes.)
5: Tried both discs.
6: Removed profile then downloaded it from Xbox.
7:
Force the Xbox to re-sync to Xbox live by changing the date to
11/15/2005. (You have to be signed out to change the date and time)
8: Installed both discs to my HDD then retried with both discs.
9:
Downloaded the DLCs again then tried with my Ethernet unplugged.
(Worked to play single player but the moment you reconnect to Xbox live
you wither get load locked while connecting to Xbox live or sent to the
game start-up because of the sign-in change that has occurred.)
10: Tested my connection to Battlefield 3, Battlefield: Bad Company 2, and Battlefield 1943. All perfect.
11: Received a new online pass from EA support. Did not solve the issue, just started freezing at a different screen.
12: Contemplated the fun of hitting something with a crowbar but then realized I didn't feel like going outside quite yet.
13: Glared at my frozen Xbox hoping it could sense my disappointment of the update.
14: Ate an ice cream sandwich and came to the forums to report the fun I have been having since 5:45 AM CST.

So
the last 3 we're not anything technical but they did make me ok with
the situation for the time. Just remember folks. This is not an issue
with connecting to EA servers. This issue with the with the checks the
game does of your EA server connection, downloaded content, save games,
then EA server connection again. I have had it actually connect to EA
so I could see my Galaxy at war readiness but had a load loop of
"Checking downloadable content" overlaying my "Resume game; New game;
Load game; Multiplayer; Download Content" menu list so I was unable to
hit anything besides my Microsoft button and inevitably, dashboard.


NOTE: While I do seem to be a very unlucky person most people on my friends list by sheer repetition are able to eventually get past these checks and log on to play both Singleplayer or Multiplayer so keep giving it a try. I hope at some point I can get to play my Geth Hunter some more.

My problem is different: i can connect with EA server as well...but when a load a save and play the game (single or multi) after 2-5 min freeze! EVERY TIME!!!
