I disagree. I think having Earth maps showing iconic locations in a wartorn light could be very interesting. The challenge is somehow incorporating present day landmarks with distinctive wartorn, futuristic atmosphere.

Not as much of a challenge as how creating war-torn alien worlds from scratch could be. :)

I wouldn't want to see any Earth maps either, wouldn't make much sense to see Cerberus or the Geth fighting there.

Give me Virmire as a map!

This one would like to see alien planets being occupied by giant evil space robots. If they stop at one map, fine, but this one has a nagging feeling that they wont.

It will still play it, but this one has a right to voice its concerns.

Okay, I can agree with you on that. If they done more than one map that is set on Earth I wouldn't be happy eaither. I'd love more maps that are set on planets we haven't gotten to explore, or have rarely explored. Personally, I'd trade five Earth maps for one map on Rannoch.

There is still fighting on Earth prior to the end of the game, thus it makes sense to add it. Add a map like the part on the roofs look wise. So it's not just the look of a city, and the n7 team would still be showing up on Earth, probably a lot.

Some spoilers ahead.

I agree with this.  I'd be willing to bet that an Earth map is in our future, probably something from the run up to the teleportation beam (the missile defense segment, maybe?), if only because the art assets are already in the game.  By that reasoning, there are a lot of planets that we could see more of as multiplayer maps, since a lot of the planets that are core to the plot have art assets in ME3 already.

I have no complaints with the thought of a London map - how many BF3 maps have a giant Reaper teleporter in the background, a space battle going on overhead, and so on?  Just because it's war-torn Earth doesn't mean that it has to be samey-samey war-torn Earth.

While it might be "lore contradictory" I agree that Earth shouldn't be priority one in upcoming maps. I'd love to see Thessia again, for one.

Take Surkesh back?

Narp.

Take Horizon back?

Am I the only one who hates that place?

Eden Prime(where it all began)

I'm pretty sure Javik is handling this himself.

Take Earth back!

Yes please.

Horizon is ok, nothing special, but it is a interesting turning point in me2, and surkesh was among this ones favorite level, despite the unlikliness of cerberus troops being able to attack a fortified stg base on the salarian homeworld.

That is like al-qaeda occupying the hq of the cia in langley, virginia.

All of the current maps look as tough they could take place on some point on Earth anyway, for the most part. Point moderately invalid (planets like Surkesh and Thessia could be interesting, many others could just be another backdrop on Earth).

Actually, I disagree. One part we don't really see in ME3 SP is the actual massive battle that is supposed to be taking part on earth while Shepard is doing his thing. So it's not illogical to have earth maps where squads have been inserted to do this or that, with MP illustrating that. Sure you'd be fighting Geth/Cerb but then you can just get past that, really, and remember it's SUPPOSED to be Reapers. Just like how there isn't supposed to be Geth in a Cerb facility, yet there is. Same goes for other maps.

Nothing wrong with 1-2 earth maps.

Spoilers ahead.

I think that it would make perfectly good sense, as the Geth are allied with the Reapers prior to the events of Rannoch - who knows how many the Reapers transported to Earth to act as troops?

Also, Cerberus has a distinct interest in acquiring Reaper tech to further the research seen in some of the N7 missions and main plot missions, and what better place to get Reaper tech than the biggest warzone that they're currently fighting in?

I think that Geth and Cerberus on Earth prior to the end of the game would make perfectly good sense, actually.

You misinterpret this ones doubts, young geth, the idea for maps on Earth are all basically the same, take away the look of the enemies and the time period and the motive for attacking said part of Earth, and you have the exact same thing in every friggin multiplayer map. Corpses, burned out vehicles, smoke and ash, bullet ridden walls, etc, etc.

Why not have giant reapers in orbit locked in a deadlock with turian cruisers or volus frigates over some dismal planet, why earth, it is far too generic for the once-talented minds of bioware to waste themselves on.

I dunno... that's pretty obviously not Earth overhead when you're on Firebase Condor :P

This one does not agree, Surkesh might bear some similarity with the amazon rain forest but its architecture and fauna are most likely drastically different, Thessia is in a league of its own, in this ones opinion.

War-torn London looks amazing so shut up :)

I'd love to fight near a firing Hades cannon!

(though makes sure it disorients the mobs too so it doesn't give them an advantage)

By that logic, almost any multiplayer map is basically the same - contrived cover of appropriate heights for the game's cover mechanic (if any), bullet ridden walls, burned out vehicles (usually functional as cover!), etc...

There's no reason that an Earth map couldn't have a reaper walking/terrorizing in the background, the Reaper teleporter, the space battle above the planet, etc... to make it unique and distinct.

Also, I'm not proposing that they focus solely on Earth maps from here on out - but I'd like to see one.  There's no reason not to include the seat of the Alliance if we're including Tuchanka (already in), Palaven (already in via one of its moons), and so on and so forth.  I think that each of the council races' homeworlds deserves at least one MP map, humanity included.

That is actually not a bad point, seeing another major front on the galactic wide invasion could work, as long as it is limited to one map.

I agree that Palaven needs a proper map. However I think Bioware can manage an Earth map that isn't cliched. Maybe on the moon? Or in the desert? Who knows.

Well obviously, but we are not specifically talking about the structure and the uses of cover in multiplayer, as maps set in a large expanse of unhindered desert or tundra would not be very imaginative and would likely end in a quick death for all players. Do you want multiplayer maps to be set in daycare rooms, where you hide behind teddy bears and crayon boxes for cover, the element of using war-torn ideas in maps is overused, but effective and understandable in multiplayer shooters. Overusing Earth maps in a sea of planets in the mass effect universe is not.

This ones attitude was more along the lines of *no earth maps due to us missing out on seeing a rich, diverse galaxy under reaper seige*.

Wow sucks btw.:P

You guys want to see generic Earth maps only different in the form of it being in the future with giant reapers harvesting people in the background...fine, but this one does not, we wont see many games with palaven or thessia as multiplayer, but with Earth...they are endless.

This one does not share your opinion, is it not the purpose of sentient beings to think for themselves, not to be trodden along like mindless sheep, to find a cause, a purpose in this world, that you feel strongly by.

Personally, I think the new maps should have fixed factions, you want Hydra, you get Cerbys, you want Condor, you get Reapers.

Because it does not make ANY kind of sense for Cerberus to be occupying Palaven...much like starbrat
