No, it's a precedent for false adveritsing in games and whether they get it away with it or not.

So what? Its just going to happen again.  It happens all the time with developers.  Seriously has anyone here ever......played other games.........or anything?

I've played tons of games, but I've never bought a game that didn't have what was said. Not all games were the best games were or implemented what they said in the best way they could, or perhaps weren't even complete, BUT they DID have what they said. If they didn't, they could of been sued, as everything else falsely advertised in this country is sued.

---

Edit:

I have to fix that, Dragon Age 2 was not quality but it was what was advertised, it just was misleading people with the DA name.

Mass Effect 3 was NOT what was advertised, as such I now have a game that is misadvertisement, and what will I do? Never buy from BioWare again.

Well trolling is against the code of conduct and means the intent to harass or incite the derission or sabotage of conversation into a volatile mess. You're doing that, reporting you makes perfect sense and follows the rules.

You've once again avoided subject matter, so let me help remind you:

BBB posted about their investigation and then added some details about their opinions. ON THEIR OFFICIAL SITE.

WHEN YOU can do that, THEN you can have 1 POINT.

1 Point for BioWare Investigation by BBB.
0 Points for TrollMart derision.

All of the events over the last month have been a shot across the bow of the gaming industry. They are listening too.

I think you mean "brow", the brow of the gaming industry, as in their eye browls, as in right to their eyes in plain sight.

Or maybe I'm wrong... mmm... Google is inconclusive about the meaning behind brow and bow shots.

I wonder if the FTC will ever acknowledge the false advertising part.
Though with the Extended Cut coming out, I'd feel sad about it, or at least have an ill feeling.
However, considering they don't add new endings, I guess with all the pretty beauty explosions here and there, it would still be viable.
Of course, they might just say they're adding "closure" so they wouldn't admit they're adding whole new endings, as it would show that they truly did mess up the ending and know it and show it.

I actually laughed at that. We provide actual links from the BBB itself then proof that that author is a high level employ of the BBB and then that troll makes some sh** up to try and support their point while trying to insinuate that is what we are doing....that is a VERY typical PR tactic. I don't see how they can be just a fanboy at this point. Their failing tactics are getting more desperate as we bury them in facts.

Let's see what the EA PR fanboys come up with next.

They misadvertised illegally about more than just the endings... heh... the endings were the small lies.

Perhaps fanboys meaning to troll for entertainment, but PR and Marketing... customer relations and other such things... even just one class in college dealing with those would show that they're a lot more... intelligent and formal about how to manipulate others.

No need to take him seriously, he's just saying the opposite of the general opinion to skew up some hatred and malignant feelings.
Kinda like what Bioware did with the endings. Maybe he could be the new executive producer?

i dont however keep moaning about it and try to get the manufacturer to tailor it to my needs/wants.

thats the point your brain has just totally rejected, because it involves far less drama"

But if you dont "moan" about it, then how should the creator learn and improve?

You and the others who defend BioWare are using the logic of a pupil that is angry at a teacher for criticising his homework and says "I put much work into it, you must accept it".

Sure you did, I believe that, but it doesnt change the fact your result sucked, and you should accept it if you want to improve.

Stomping your foot and saying that you are right will only result in your next homework failing as well.

Maybe people should stop trying to use Analogies for this sort of thing?

Maybe, but someone else perfectly explained why this one is valid:

Il Divo wrote...

I've used this example a good number of
times myself. Bioware is completely free to ignore this outcry and move
onto ME4 or DA3 or whatever. Similar to how a student can refuse to
change his work. But you also bear full responsibilities for the
consequences of that decision. Personally, I don't think this would
destroy Bioware, but if it does, they can't complain any more than a
student who gets a failing grade for refusing to alter his vision. The
market is rarely fair in deciding what does and doesn't succeed.

nice analogy.

off topic but in your
sig it says Legion with the "girls". Was Legion female? I don't
remember that. just curious why you included Legion. I (admittedly maybe
mistakenly) have always assigned a male pronoun to....it?

Geth do probably not have a gender (they are programs, and legion is actually 1183 of them, sharing one platform), but I think Legion would be a more fascinating LI than Jacob, Miranda, Tali, Jack, Thane, Kaidan and Ashley combined, and so I put it down there... for sh!ts and giggles, basically:D

or are you yet again going to post a link to a blog filled with supposition and opinions ?

Your choices did have consequences in Human Revolutions, Deus Ex:.

The issue is that they never advertised that it was an RPG that would be having continuous built up conflict choices. If you did something, you were punished or rewarded for it, in regards to several situations, and the ending wasn't so much a copy cat ending with different colors as much as a game-winner ending of the players preference, but with that said it did go as advertised.

It's all about what they say and how they say it, because when they say it, they can't take it back.

its all they have,it deflects from the real issue, they just dont want people thinking they are moaning for the sake of moaning.

before the dlc announcment they wanted closure
bioware offered closure

they actually dont want anything other than to feel like they belong to something,no matter what that is and to moan.

right now its analogys, but after that they will start accusing anyone who thinks differently of doing what they are doing, totally ignoring the fact that they themselves were doing that 10 minutes ago.

then comes the word troll, thats when they run out of daft points or analogys

To clarify, I did not partake in any of the Retake or Hold The Line activities, nor will I ever do so, or join their group.

However, that does not mean I like the endings, or BioWare's handling of the situation.

As for the "trolls": There are probably some Retakers who are trolls, but in all the threads I post in, usually their "opponents", for lack of a better word, are the worst offenders in this regard.

agreed but your initial observation of other gaming companies watching what is happening with this I believe is spot on. They would be fools not to. Learning from someone else's mistakes is always more cost effective than learning from your own.

It's completely off-topic, but it's a naval term. It refers to a warning shot across the bow, or front, of another ship.

I have since confirmed that while the "brow' analogy logistically makes sense, that it was indeed a military term. That being said, I now recall that I actually already knew that in the first place. A case of using logic versus definition.

Well, if this actually goes anywhere, than enjoy mass effect 3's 95% great content while you can because the entire game will be removed from circulation.

So yeah, mass effect will just be known as the sequel bait finale for this series, enjoy.

95%?

You spend 25+ hours building up assets that end up being replaced by a generic force that dies miserably and doesn't even behave canonically.

Well this will surely affect BioWare's rating with the BBB so that people will...

Wait, what's that? BioWare doesn't pay the BBB to rate them? Like a lot of companies don't? So this whole thing really makes no difference and means nothing at all?

Well how bout that.

Um, you guys use analogies that are not exactly descriptive at all, in fact they are rather base emotional level and are completely subjective only to the ending and not the game as whole.   For all the bashing at Bioware for having a illogical/non creative ending I expect more from "retaker" analogies.

I dont get paid for writing analogies, and I didnt advertise them as "having multiple, vastly different outcomes reflecting all your choices".

Unlike BioWare's writers with regards to their story.
