Same thing that comes to mind when I look back on any game I quite enjoyed. Side stories or continuing adventures; usually featuring a more heroically proportioned version of myself.

These days, the multiplayer. That's carried me on longer than the single player has at this point, though hopefully the Extended Cut will change that.

For now mine is probably heartbroken. I really loved this serious and I put so much time into it. Even though I feel so bad about the ending and it hurts to admit it but I still love the series, I can never forget my expereince in this awesome world and I often think what could have been.

Wasted potential, indeed.
Even if they do make a reveal "this summer" that de-retards the ending (be it IT or w/e), so much time has passed, people have been pissed off for so long.
Not quite "too little too late", but close, very close.

As much as I don't expect much from the upcoming DLC there is this very small beam of hope I still have for the series because I loved it so much.. but you're right I feel like I've been mad for so long that hope keeps feeling more and more distant.
