EDIT: Been thinking through this. Bioware definitely does NOT want to exclude any players from their promotions because that does not make business sense (more players playing = more microtransactions = PROFIT!), unless Bioware has to pay Sony so much money to hold the promotion that it's better to just leave us out (hence the blame game). But I hope that you the PS3 owner can see that in either case, Sony is the dick. I just want to know how do things work? Why does Sony have to set up roadblocks like this?

Sony have been praised for its open platform by many distinguished developers over the last few years. Konami had MGO running for years with its own promotions without Sony's interference. There is also steamworks running on the PS3. Also Dust 516 with it's EVE online connection. Finally all the COD and BF3 promotions running as well on all 3 platforms.
We don't have all the information and what the particular issue actually is.
It could be something like bureaucratic paperwork Bioware didn't fill out in time and it is taking Sony a long time to process it or Sony doesn't like the "Upload Gameplay Feedback" option as it could be seen as giving private information to a third party could be against Sony's TOS.

Well you can't expect everyone at Sony to know about this issue. After all this issue only affects 1% of PSN users since not even a million copies of ME3 have been sold on PS3.

I called Sony again today. I flustered the hell out of the first woman, NOT because I was rude in any shape or form, I just asked tactful questions that she couldnt answer. I hung up because no one is going to waste my time. I called again and got a great woman rep who answered the following:
Me: "My first issue mam is that my web browser causes my PS3 to freeze in which I have to hard restart my system. This happens randomly (including these forums) it could be youtube or forums and the like. What can I do?"
Sony Rep: "This is not a fully functional web browser."
Me: "Mam, what good does it do me to go online with the web browser if it doesnt work? Why is it even offered as an XMB option if its broken?"
Sony Rep: "SIr please let me shed some light on this for you. The adobe flash player on the PS3 within the next six months via a firmware update will be updated. This will allow you to visit more sites as the PS3 will have the supporting adobe flash to visit said sites. If you visit a site and the PS3 browser doesnt support the version needed for that site, it will cause your system to freeze. To help fix this do the following: 1- delete cookies, 2- delete history, 3- delete cache and 4- (this one is damn good everyone so pay attention. Its like a defrag for the computer but for the PS3) If you have a game currently in the console take it out. Next, make sure the console is off (not powered off but just off with the red light still on) Then press and hold the power on button until you hear first beep then second beep then third beep. Release button for 1 second. Then press and hold power on button again for forth beep then fifth beep THEN it will make a double beep sound. After it has done this options will come up on screen 1-6. Choose the 3 option which restores the system. Similar to when it has to do it after you hard reset it. It will check to see if your system is corrupted (mine was twice but I didnt lose anything to my knowledge) if it is it will go through it % complete thingy and restart. Then itll recognize your HDMI device and turn it back to that as well. (I know this isnt on point but it was definitely worth passing on to all of you here. I will not harbor knowledge that can benefit my fellow PS3 gamers)
Me: "Thank you very much for letting me know that mam. Thats all I wanted was some form of any answer." ALSO TO EVERYONE HERE, THE PSN WILL BE DOWN ALL DAY TOMORROW FOR UPDATES! This is coming from the Sony Rep herself.
Sony Rep: (laughs) (now to the relevant issue at hand)
Me: "Also mam, I have another concern with a game called Mass Effect 3. (I read this verbatim to her) This Operation is currently available to Xbox 360 and PC users only, and will run from Friday, April 13th at 5PM PST to Monday, April 16th 5AM PST. Unfortunately, we are not yet able to offer our Multiplayer Challenge weekends on PlayStation 3. Sony has not yet approved the promotion. We continue to work with them to find a compromise, but until then, Sony will not allow us to run the same Multiplayer Challenges on the PlayStation 3 that we run on Xbox 360 and PC.
"Im wondering why we PS3 owners are not getting the same experience on our platforms. This is very bad because some Sony fans may jump ship because their games arent supported like they are for other platforms. The fans dont want this and Sony surely doesnt want this as is affects their profitability and reputation as a company. Do you have any answers or knowledge as to why this is happening?"
Sony rep: Sir, I have two answers for you. Now keep in mind this is not confirmed by Sony but is my speculation. (bear with me guys and gals some type of answer be it speculation or other from a person who works for Sony is better than nothing) First, there are major and many updates coming in the form of both the Vita and the PS3. (she stressed Vita more than anything) This may be causing delays that trickle down to other things that need their attention to be supported. Second, (as we all here have speculated ourselves) it is a security issue that is preventing participation by Sony. That is purely me speculating but that is what I believe may be happening causing you not to be able to participate."
Ok everyone. I know I could have brought up the fact that other games have successfully done this but there is some type of underlying issue that we are not able to be aware of that is preventing this particular title from doing what we want and deserve it to do. Furthermore, she brought up the fact if you go to us.playstation.com there are forms of some type on there that can be filled out that will be brought to her higher ups because I asked her what us fans can do and what channels do we have to go through.
I hope what Ive said here offers some type of consolation to some of you. Im just as f**king pissed as you 1- that the SP is still unplayable, and 2- this uninclusion of weekend participations.

You sir fill out that fo and post a link here for us to follow suite
Even if it is speculation i dont care if its on biowares side or sonys side id like to partake in getting goods.
However on a bad note what good is ot to play the game if a hard reset can damage my console as this game is broken.
Cant speak for the rest of you but i wouldnt bother to play the game anyhow as there is so many hard resets a man can take.
I also wouldnt jumpship on sony for 1 game assuming of course its a security measure.

Instead of only griping here about our disgust over not being able to join in on these, head over to Sony's forums and do the same.
Thread about the issue:

Community reps to PM:

I did both and encourage anyone reading this to do the same. Let's make some noise, people!

Xbox is superior in every term: Better graphics in almost every game, no ****ING framerate, Internet is alot better, online events, better store which is updated, more community(more people on Xbox), plus people at some forums treat PS3 players like second rate player, which is disgusting.
Seriously... I use to love my PS3 and claimed it's better than Xbox, but how could I have been so blind.. so it has a few great games, so what? I wish I would've broken my PS3 in April last year, and bought Xbox360. Now there is no point of buying, because the next consoles may be released next year.
And next year... oh hell yes I won't buy the ****Station 4. Lol, sorry had to say it.

This is why some people have gotten answers in this post because the complaints are probably mild sounding and open ended so company feels more inclined to at least try to not give a generic neutral answer but without a way to find out who or why something is not working they are trying to not lose you as a profitable consumer.
