So, I bought Mass Effect 3 on Day 1 (pre-order). I'm in doctoral school, and I don't have much time to play, so I have yet to play any of the game. I do download all the content and patches though - that way I will be ready when I do have time to play.
I redeemed my online pass and downloaded all my pre-order goods on day one.
Until today, I haven't put the game back in my xbox since then.
Now, I put the game in today to get the patch and the new multiplayer maps.
First, a message pops up trying to get me to buy the online pass. I have already redeemed my online pass and the content that comes with it. The content is even in my download history. I re-entered my online pass code just to be safe, and of course, it said the code had already been redeemed, which made sense. So, I reboot my xbox trying to figure out the problem. This time, the game starts looking for downloadable content, and stays stuck on that screen. I reboot again. This time, the game says "cannot connect to EA servers". I reboot again. This time, the game prompts me to buy an online pass again.
Why is my online pass not working?
It looks to me like this whole situation might revolve around problems with the EA/Bioware servers. ???
Can someone let us know what is going on, and someone let me know why my online pass is not authenticated by the server. Will this problem "fix itself"? (I'm assuming you're having server trouble and the problem might go away after a fix on Bioware's end.)
Online pass no longer works. Game freezes at menu. list of other problems.

nevermind. I looked here: http://social.biowar.../index/9682268/
For whatever reason, the online pass code is printed at the VERY TOP of the activate online pass code card, and the code in the middle of the card is for the "from ashes" DLC.
I don't really understand why the card was designed the way it was...most cards have the codes near each other...but whatever, I did manage to get it working. It's easy to overlook that code at the top.
Still, even after getting the online pass to work, the game freezes at the "connecting to EA servers" message on the main menu.

That's a general issue for all Xbox 360 customers. You can still play the single player by clearing the Xbox System Cache and declining the update, you will play offline, but it will work. (To clear the system cache go to "System", "Storage" select the Hard Drive Options (Y), and select clear system cache, this option deletes ALL of your game updates, which you can download again later, no big deal. But please don't, by any means, not even by accident, format your HDD, it's as bad as it sounds!)
Don't worry pal, BioWare sucks, but they will fix this, they have to.
