What it Dookie wrote...

You do know that equipping an Ammo bonus like AP and Warp have a damage boost right? I'm not sure about AP ammo 1, but I know that AP ammo 3 has a 30% damage bonus, so its not that the AP mod lowers the damage of each shot it's just not giving you a bonus like the ammo does.

AP ammo  and Warp ammo  add ZERO damage vs shields ...

The case I was making - with innate penetration (or penetration given by the AP ammo cover penetration stat) you can hit the atlas twice with the same bullet and thus do double damage (even vs shields) ...100% weapon damage + 100% weapon damage ...

But adding AP piercing mod - lowers damage on the second hit (like it says into it description)... So with it you with the atlas 100% and reduced damage on the second hit ...

And this is irrelevant to Kishock - as it cannot be made to penetrate ...

It seems like a good weapon, but somehow does not feel right with the salarian infiltrator. Maybe its only lack of practice.

point x.: You have to calculate with "bullet drop" for longer range shots
point X+1: has major accuracy issues (perhaps because of the lag as mentioned earlier)

Only a Batarian would bring a damn harpoon gun into a war against the reapers.

Been using it quite a bit and have only really suffered due to lag in a couple of games. The lag was pretty rough though so I'd have had troubles with any sniper. That being said, the gun did take me a while to get used to, but I enjoyed the challenge.

I've used it in Gold games against all 3 enemy types. Brutes/Ravagers/Banshees/Primes/Pryos aren't that horrible to deal with (presumably because they have heads through which I can put harpoons), but an Atlas is a serious pain.

Is it superior to my same level (III) Widow? Certainly not for dropping the large, armored opponents, but against everyone else I think its the better gun.

6) is utterly useless uncharged because the harpoon will land somewhere below where you aimed it.
7) will completely miss your target 9 times out of 10 because they will have moved by the time the harpoon arrives.
8) will only do bleeding damage half the time because it's bugged.(as in, your shot will NOT kill the yellow bar pyro in front of you, but will only slowly take off 1 bar of health as the pyro roasts your ass).
9) will ****** you off everytime you get an upgrade for it in a premium spectre pack instead of something USEFUL like the Widow.

It seems to do ridiculously low damage against armored, targets. Even when an atlas was down to armor, it didn't seem to hurt it at all.

I noticed this myself. A fully charged shot wasn't even dropping a single bar of Atlas' armour for me.

Hunter Mode with kishock lvl 1, 30% of atlas armor gone for me

its useless as are all charge up weapons unless you run and gun. cause charging up gets you out of cover, so its no use during the hacking obj when you get surrounded and its absolutely terrible with the GI which gets around with no health. if it could be charged up from cover and had the pistol scope power and the speed of the projectiles was increased (make it travel as quick as the valiant imo) then there may be a use for it.

I run Kishock with geth infiltrator, and it was great, without charging it on shot basic reapers, and it was brutal against brutes (killed in two hits). I liked it more than other Single shot sniper rifles.

Honestly I thought it's pretty good once you get used to it, but I still love my Valiant compared to the Widow and Black Widow; not sure about about Javelin. This is coming from by playing infiltrator.

Why?
1. It breaks the shield gate. I never have to worry about wasting an extra bullet just to remove that small bar of shield left.
2. It reloads faster
3. Weights lighter compared to the heavy sniper rifles
4. I learned you can charge the shot, cloak, fire and you're still cloaked, and fire another ship before your cloak wears off because the guns reloads extremely fast almost like the Valiant. My only problem is don't do it while in cover; hug the edge of the wall.
5. Scope is better for close range encounters
6. It staggers standard enemies.
7. I guess the "bleeding" damage which I never took notice.

My only problem with the gun is it has no penetration what so ever even with the armor piercing mod. The bullet drop is not an annoyance once you get used to it; I mean it's not like we're playing huge ass maps.

I have the Kishock IX, and although it can act quite weird, it is a pretty awesome weapon once you master the timing and aiming of it.

Notes/Pros:

1) It is very light compared to the Widow & Javelin (I don't have a BW yet so I can't compare)
2) Use the Enhanced Scope Mod, it makes the harpoon fire straighter/faster from what I can tell.
3) The Armor Piercing Mod for it sucks, it is either bugged or just plain bad, it reduces damage like crazy.
4) I don't use it on my SI because it is unnecessary...it IGNORES shield gate, so you can one shot Marauders, Centurion, Phantoms, Nemesis, etc on Gold with headshots, so you don't need to ED to strip shields before firing. Therefore, I use my Human Infiltrator with Maxxed out Weapon Damage/Headshot Damage.
5) The reload time is very fast
6) It has a decent bullet capacity

For me, it spices up sniping quite a bit from the SI "strip and shoot" gameplay, while not sacrificing damage (can 1 shot brutes, ravagers if shot is placed correctly). I find it the most effective against Cerberus and the Reapers because it can lay waste to a lot of their targets and very quickly.

Cons:
- The learning curve takes some getting used to
- Not a conventional sniper by any means.
- Damage can be random...one time I one shot a brute without charging..the other it barely did damage fully charged.
- Damage against Atlases isn't that great, but not too bad.
- For some reason, while on cover you will be scoped in a lot for no reason, not sure if a bug or intended.

Random Notes:

- Incendiary Ammo works very well with this Sniper because the DoTs stack. (Bleed and Fire)
- If you get a Banshee headshot you will wreck that Banshee's day.
- Charge does 1.5X damage, make sure you charge THEN cloak, once you shoot you will STILL be cloaked, coupled with Bonus Power this is quite awesome.
- Don't even think about trying to hit stuff through cover, even if you didn't heed my warning and used the piercing mod.
- Though it doesn't pierce through walls it does pierce Guardian shields.

List of things you can 1 shot with this weapon on Gold:
1) Brute (headshot)
2) Ravager (center eye)
3) Phantom (headshot even with full Barriers)
4) Marauder/Centurion/Nemesis/Rocket Trooper (headshot with full shields)

Right now this is my favorite sniper, it is versatile, different and fun to use while still being powerful and looking/sounding pretty awesome. Also hitting things while they are floating sends them flying  who doesn't love that?

is one of the most satisfying guns around once you get a good feel for the weapon. the feeling of a phantom in your face and hip firing a harpoon through her face, launching her across the map, never gets old.

The Kishock has a lot of potential. It ignores shield gate and deals massive damage to organic enemies. However It is quite difficult to use. Only the masters of sniping can use the Kishock to its full potential. Sadly I am not one of them.

Its also amazing that if you are charging it when the phatom (or I guess any of the 1 hiters) gio into their animations, it shots them to knock them out of it.

for all you naysayers out there.
just give it a try with an asari.
charge > stasis > easy headshot > reapeat
just take care of everyone AROUND the atlas while your buddys kill it.
after one shotting phantoms you will appreciate it and then proceed to say
"if its this good without cloak, I should practice with it on my infiltrator" (human for da cryo)

This also fits for the Batarian Sentinals. Charge > Net > Shoot. Even if you dont get the head shot, you have the DoTs from the web and the Kishock that will then kill them
