I Saw that as an option once, but I figured it would either get vetoed (and really, SHOULD BE vetoed) by the Landsmeet.



That and...well...honestly I'm not sure Grin (my name for Dog) would have beat Loghain.

Frankly, I was surprised that the dog was the only party member the Landsmeet objected to. Letting Loghain duel a magic user is obviously unfair. In my second game, my PC mage had Cone of Cold and Crushing Prison. I almost felt sorry for the guy.

The reaction when you suggest dog as your champion is indeed hilarious, although I take exception to the idea that he could be bribed with a ham bone. It would take a prime steak at least!

Peeve, my dog, is an awesome tank. Much better than Sten or Ohgren. Only problem with keeping him in my party is he has no personal quest... unless you count leaving presents in Morrigan's bag

Dog Howl is simply the best mass crowd destroyer. The dog (call it as you wish, for me it was Doggy, Staehenbauss, Pluto, whatever) is the best warrior in the game, followed by Shale.

The final power gets no love?  Come on.  Screw dog howl.  It's awesome and everything, but there's nothing as satisfying as watching your Mabari maul the face of an opponent he has pinned to the ground.

If the Dog had threaten or did better damage I'd use him more often.  He's a great tank for the first few seconds of a battle but it's impossible for him to hold aggro with just about anyone else in your party.

Well, the Mabari are revered by the fereldens. I think Loghain saw it as a great honor to fight your dog.

LOL, I Smashed on Loghain with Shale, they even said it seemed unfair but it was still my choice to decide my champion. Was pretty easy win must say

HAHA.  I've never even thought to use Shale.  I always just use my PC.  That's hilarious.  Can you still use Shale if Loghain wins the Landsmeet?  That'd be kind of ridiculous.  "I know the people are on your side Loghain, but really I win the argument as long as you can't beat a Golem in single combat."  Lol, what?

Wow I bought the DLC after I finished my first play through. I'm going to have to do all of the DLC before I finish the next round just to see how Shale changes everything.

*cough* the dog DOES have threaten you realize. he has a warrior skill tree just like everyone else. taunt and threaten are both on there im pretty sure, for sure taunt is. and 99.9% sure threatn is (im only leaving a margin of error because iv never actually got that skill for him i have gotn taunt for him tho)

He does not have the Warrior skill tree.  Dog levels differently in that he does not get a talent every level and only has 8 talents to choose from.

i hope someone makes a mod at some point that does give him the Warrior tree though, just for taunt/disengage/threaten.

I simply love Scruffy (my dog) mabari dominance adn the fact that he can find a very decent bagic staff in mutitple locations.... plus one can never have to much cake
