Actually dog you get from camp has warrior tree, dog you pick up at home doesn't.

Man, I'm sad to know they won't accept the dog as champion - I've been SO tempted to pick this just once. xD

Too bad following dialogue couldn't be something like: "Well, I just figured one dog knows another..." if Loghain refuses to duel with the mabari hound, haha.

Well, apparently they're switching places every other level, because on the same character, I **** you not, the Warrior trees would appear and disappear randomly. I played through the entire game, from the Mage Origin to the Archdemon's defeat, and saw it come and go. I threw a point into Powerful at one point to give him some bonus health, but I have no idea if it stuck, because it disappeared after that.

when I fought Loghain with my ranger I noticed my summon hanging around in the crowd, so resummoned something else and that worked fine.

Loghain wasn't hard to beat as a archer/DW rogue. Stealthed right away, set a couple stun traps between me and him, stealth-crit arrow, arrow of slaying, crit arrow, then a few more until the stuns wore off. When he got close, switched to DW and did dirty fighting/riposte (with coup de grace). Loghain spent the entire fight stunned, didn't get off a single swing.

the dog can't even use half of the warrior tree talents anyway i tried to make him taunt he just stood there

I used Alistair the first run through, and he executed Loghain, didn't even ask my opinion. Which made it hard to use Loghain as the sacrifice

If you let Loghain live, Alistari leaves. Period. Won't even stick around to boink Morrigan - the fool
