When you crash/lockup are there any animations still playing/text scrolling/anything moving on the screen? NO
If you unplug your ethernet cable are you able to continue into single player? NO - total lockup

have the collector's edition and all DLC.  prior to the patch, game worked flawlessly.

This worked for me tonight but it appears I will have to do it every time to be able to connect to the EA servers and play multiplayer which will be a hassle.

On the title screen where it gets stuck perpetually on the "Connecting to EA Servers" I unplugged the ethernet cable from the back of my XBOX. A message came up saying something along the lines of we cannot connect to the EA servers at this time. Selected OK. Started the single player game and plugged the ethernet cable back in. Once that loaded up I signed in to my XBOX Live account. Then went to the options screen and selected main menu. Once I returned to the main menu it automatically connected me to the EA Servers. This is the first time I've been able to successfully connect to the servers since I downloaded the patch some two weeks ago. After this worked I exited out to XBOX home and booted up the game again to see if I could successfully connect to the servers from the title screen but unfortunately it still gets stuck at the "Connecting to EA Servers" screen. It appears I will have to complete the process every time in order to get connected to the servers.

It's a little inconvenient but at least it worked.

Thanks for the tip, Soni. I tried it, but it's a no go for me. Still cannot connect. Sucks to be missing out on the mutiplayer event.

Tried it again and Soni's tip worked. Was nice to play again, but a hassle to do it.

Salz99, I actually found a slightly easier way that is working for me. Maybe it will work for you as well.

On the title screen where it gets stuck perpetually on the "Connecting to EA Servers" I unplugged the ethernet cable from the back of my XBOX. A message came up saying something along the lines of we cannot connect to the EA servers at this time. Selected OK. This time instead of loading up the single player I stayed on the title screen, plugged the ethernet cable back in,signed into XBOX Live, then pressed Y to log in to EA servers and it connected successfully. I've tested this method multiple times and it has worked every time so far. A slight hassle but I can deal with it for now.

Awesome Soni, thanks a lot I'll try that. It's a little bit more of hassle because I normally have my Xbox on wifi, so had to run a cable across the room. Hopefully they'll get it fixed soon so we can just log in. Thanks for the help!

OMG SoniZero, TY TY TY. It worked. It's been over two weeks since I was last able to play this game. You have done more for us tonight than EA/Bioware has done in 2 1/2 weeks. Congradulations. I do need a longer ethernet cable though since I had to move everything within reach of my router but you don't have to help me with that also.

I agree with Booberry. Bioware should send you a check!

No problem. I'm just glad it is working for some of you! Just sorry some of you have to run a web of wires all over your room for this to work .  I was getting very frustrated not being able to play online myself and am happy this method at least lets me do that. Hopefully this works for a majority of the people that get stuck at the perpetual "Connecting to EA Servers" screen and helps Bioware troubleshoot so we can get a fix soon. In the meantime, I can live with this fix.

Oh and I certainly wouldn't mind it if BW made a donation to the "SoniZero is Poor" charity fund ;)

Yeah that's pretty much what I do too. Not to long or painful and I can still enjoy the multiplayer :)

SoniZero's solution above is what worked for me too--start the game, yank the ethernet out while infinitely waiting at "Connecting to EA Servers", accept the "XBox Live disconnected" error message, plug the cable back in, and then hit Y to Connect to EA Servers again (prompting an XBox live login). I hope this problem gets fixed for real soon, as this is not an ideal way to play the game, but at least it works.

Thank you so much SoniZero. This is the one work around that works for me.
You should be working for bioware. Let's hope someone there uses your info to create a fix soon.

SoniZero's fix has worked for me as well. Not 100%, but it's a definite improvement from before.

Suddenly started for me after playing it all morning, I quit for a bit and now I can't start ME3 at all.

Can't unplug eNet, but log out of my live profile and it'll start up, as soon as I log into live it locks up again....so much for a playable game.

---
deleted my cache, reinstalled disc 1, tried disc 2,   Created a new profile on my xbox, started a single campaign, as soon as I signed into live my xbox locked up again, no home button, nothing, have to hit power to go back.  So yeah, no point in playing my game.  I better get fixed in time to login and get my rewards from the MP event this weekend, I want my reward for beating a gold mission.

I'm having an issue with multiplayer as well, besides getting continually dropped. I tried to join a friends game and a message saying that I do not have the current version of the game popped up. When I went into the store I noticed that the jumbo pack wasn't there either. I tried clearing the cache but I still can't get the game to download the title update it needs. I know there is a way for the PC but is there one for the 360?

I deleted the Multiplayer DLC content pack and cleared the cache to get ride of the patch. I loaded up the game and did NOT accept the patch *didn't log me in to my Xbox Live account*. I was able to go in and play single player with my save files. I changed the options to "No" in regards to automatically connect to the EA Servers. I reloaded the DLC and the patch. Now it is stuck perpetually saying "Checking downloadable content...", yet I can press the Y button to connect to the EA servers, which it does. So apparently for me the problem is not the servers but the DLC... and I have no clue WHAT to do about it. :(

Suikodudeman ; that is exactly the problem I am facing. Unfortunately SoniZero's semi-solution doesn't help.
I'm really disgusted at this point with Bioware/EA. I need to find a way to make more formal complaints.

Nothing we can do till the technicians get around to fixing it. If it's not fixed by the time the "Extended Cut" DLC material is released, THEN I will be upset.

We're getting closer - Couple additional questions:

#1. Does switching connection method get you to connect to EA Servers (IE, if you're on wireless and you go wired does it work or viceversa)?

#2. If this does/doesn't work can you use speettest.net - ping the closest location to you and post the location used/upload speed/download speed?

You've all been great in assisting us with our investigation and we hope to have a solution ASAP!

this was 15 days ago and we havent herd s### since then can we get a update soon

Called EA customer support today (again), the rep said that Bioware has it on high priority and they're working around the clock. For those of us who get the black screen after EA/Bioware logo (not the perpetual "connecting to EA") it looks like it might be a while. They better throw some reparations at us for being patient this long.

I emailed EA and said I was reporting them to the Better Business Bureau. They returned my message and told me engineers were aware & to be patient. I told them I'm past being patient and consider this whole episode a big rip-off.

I reported both EA & Bioware to the Better Business Bureau since the product is defective and advertised features don't work.

I don't think you can entirely blame the patch like they want to as my system locks up even when I reject the patch, 1st off I was working perfectly fine until 2 days ago, which means I was playing MP while using the LATEST PATCH. They of course didn't listen to what I reported in my submission to customer support, they tried to make me delete all my save files...how is that even considered a valid troubleshooting step!? Especially when I clearly told them that I pulled my harddrive out of the xbox and still had the issue, not an internet issue because I lockup without internet access, and my brother can connect using my wireless router. I have now been 'escalated to a higher tier'
